  1. Because perhaps you're simply repeating the same old regurgitated mantra, it gets boring after a while. I don't for one minute think Rudkin is absolutely blameless in all this but the facts are the facts and we're stuck with it, the hard core are staying for the blindingly obvious stated reasons. And you would actually pay them to leave? Does that not set a dangerous precedent? For how many? How much would you pay out? What are the ramifications for FFP? What are the consequences? As for your comment about initial contracts you may well have a point but even then, surely there's more than one individual to blame other than the same old pantomime villain. Remember the brothers grim, Rodgers and Congerton? They're the one's that wanted these individuals and no doubt Top sanctioned them. Let's not forget those three for one minute. There's then the player's agents to deal with and let's face it, Leicester isn't London or Manchester is it. We're not the most attractive proposition albeit we might think we are. There are shades of Middlesbrough and Newcastle of the past whereupon a bit more of an inducement may have to be paid just to get them here. We're a stepping stone at best to most. If Rodgers was demanding certain players perhaps the pressure was on just to get the deal done? Think prior to Rodgers, and with the exception of the odd blip like Silva and Slimani, there have probably been dozens of deals under different managers and scouting teams that have gone swimmingly well and the club has made a fortune out of them! Same bloke as DofF. Is he faultless? Absolutely not. Is he to blame for everything? Absolutely not also. Is he disproportionately called out compared to others? I would suggest overwhelmingly so. What about all this summers signings and loans deals, were they good business? I would say so. Same bloke. Perhaps just sometimes he's influenced by other circumstances and other people.
  2. Stranger things have happened, Iborra moved to Saffron Lane which was clearly more plush than Seville!
  3. You still don't get it. Our director of football indeed, more than possibly does know and has done for some time, who we want or need to move on, BUT! He can't sell what no-one wants to buy or who doesn't want to go! It really is that simple. Sometimes a club aren't prepared to match wages, or perhaps don't even rate the player enough to pay a fee or even want him on a free. From a players angle, why possibly uproot your family to go to somewhere you don't fancy, whether this country or abroad just to play football for possibly less money? No brainer! Ward is just a prime example. Who'd want him, who'd pay him, why would he leave for less money. It's that simple.
  4. I think you'll find that it was yourself that started with the insults if you care to track back! By calling someone 'Bonkers' whether or not you agree with their opinion is being 'arsey' as you put it and suggests a 'know it all tone'.
  5. I think you're probably right.
  6. You're clearly an expert with inside knowledge. Enzo seems to rate Mcateer, he must be wrong then. Albrighton definitely not being offered another year and Akgun not being bought. Can you tell us the names of the couple of Premiership ready wingers you've got lined up, what you're paying for them and their wages? Just happy it's FFP compliant.
  7. Striker quite possibly but also midfield cover or to play with Winks. Ndidi may or may not be here but is getting more injury prone in any case.
  8. A striker certainly but priority I think is cover for, or play with Winks. We may of course be without Ndidi whose getting more injury prone now.
  9. 2 more wingers? With Fatawu, Mavidivi, Mcateer and depending whether we sign or retain Albrighton, how many wingers are enough in a 25 man squad? Not only that, bearing in mind FFP issues, where's the money coming from to buy them let alone pay their wages? Good wingers are a bit like strikers, everyone wants one and I don't see us near the top of the barrel for a ready made good one. There are bigger priorities I'd suggest.
  10. Brilliant, that's a nice memory 👍🏻
  11. So you base Vestergaard as not being good enough for the Premiership on the about 2 appearances he made under the dunderhead of a manager like Rodgers last year? I wonder how on earth he'd coped previously as captain of Munchengladbach, Southampton and his national side 🤔. It just might be that if he continued to be played to his strengths, whilst admittedly not being a prime Virgil VanDyke, he may just prove to be a lot better than some of the other mediocre centre halves in the Premiership?
  12. I saw it as backing Enzo but I don't think Rudkin comes into it. For all we know, Enzo is possibly fully aware of why nobody was signed and, although perhaps disappointed, accepts the reasons why. Nobody knows any different.
  13. I suppose that's another issue that's purely a matter of opinion. What you think is 'dreadful' others may think is a 'great day out'. Age and previous personal history comes into it I suppose but I do think some people seem to think that 'their' way is the right way and should be adopted by the masses in order to be considered a 'proper' supporter. Personally speaking I don't go for the match day 'experience', I just go to watch the football. I make certain personal choices I suppose like others along the way, like get there at a particular time suitable to me, don't buy any food and drink because I personally think it's a rip off and slow, but I appreciate that there may be those that like it and good luck to them. I take my own supplies in. I have banter and conversation with those around me that have been there some time, it's always good to see them. I don't mind the clappers, some hate them. I sing occasionally but not all the while but absolutely don't care whether other people do or don't. A lot of my reactions tend to occur depending what's happening on the pitch if I'm to be absolutely honest. I usually stay until the end and clap the players off but don't care about the one's that leave early, it's their choice ... as long as they just go and don't just stand there in no-mans land blocking my view! We're all different as are our individual tastes. Buying loads of merchandise, drinking club beer before a game, waving flags or continually singing throughout the game in a singing section doesn't make anyone the 'better' supporter'. A lot of the time a good 'match day experience' is down to the mindset of the supporter and the effort they put in to enjoying it. If the players play crap and lose badly then that will always put a dent in the experience anyway 🤣.
  14. What he was on or what his new contract is now? If it's true then perhaps you can provenance it so we can evaluate the source? Or is it just well known because it's a story that's been passed around and talked about a lot?
  15. The thing you've got to ask yourself is 'reported' by who? Does anyone really believe reports in the media? A club or agent is highly unlikely to release it for obvious legal reasons so, unless the player themselves choose to broadcast it openly to the World I'd always be extremely sceptical! I'd suspect it's some hacks best guess and they'd alter it to fit a story ie whether they wanted an audience to gossip and speculate about whether he was being under or overpaid. It certainly works doesn't it.
  16. How do you know he's on massive wages?
  17. 🤣 I know what you're saying but I was merely trying to make a point. Pace is of less use than positioning and reading of the game. How Vestergaard is currently played by Maresca, to his strengths, he doesn't need to be blessed with pace. I think there'd be worse centre halves in the Premiership than Vestergaard that's for sure.
  18. You can't just sell someone nobody wants or who doesn't want to go. Not that easy.
  19. Firstly, we won't be playing Manchester City and Liverpool every week and there is still some dross in the Premiership. Pace isn't everything in a centre half, Terry and Vidic spring to mind. Even Jonny Evans was very limited in that respect but was remarkably good. Played correctly as he is by Maresca he's currently more important and consistently better performing than Doyle or Faus. I think if you look at the centre halves of the other Premiership teams outside the top few, I'd sooner risk him than some of them.
  20. Agreed. In fact I'd have Fatawu, Akgun and Albrighton all before Mcateer. He tries his best but for me is definitely 4th in line.
  21. Depends on what you're calling half decent? I think the opposite. Any truly half decent club will want to see how he copes and adapts with what he has in the Premiership.
  22. If you look at the summer deals, signings and loans: Fatawu, Mavidivi, Winks, Hermansen, Akgun, Doyle and Casadei, you'd have to say that they all look promising buys or loans. If that's the case, then Rudkin is equally culpable there. So it seems some only knock him when he gets something wrong but ignore the good? Clearly he had a decent enough relationship going with all those players agents and clubs so why after one 'alleged' spat with Inter is our reputation in tatters? As for Silva, that's way back in the past and do you know the in and outs of why the Harrison deal failed? Or just because that didn't go through you automatically assume we're to blame? Deals break down, it's a fact of life.
  23. Absolutely but I think I'd sooner fly to Milan than Leicester 🤣
  24. Your putting your own spin on something you know absolutely nothing about. Nobody knows why the deal didn't come off or who is responsible either. It just suits some to push an agenda, particularly negative ones. He would have been a decent signing I think but only if it was the right deal for the club, particularly if any of the goalposts got changed at the last minute, but even that's pure conjecture. Just because the media reports something either doesn't mean it's true.
