Yes there is and that's a great way to look at it. If I was Akgun, Casadei or Cannon for example I'd be gagging to take my chance to prove myself and displace the others. Just look how Daka has muscled himself into the reckoning.

There's always two teams in a match and I think you have to sometimes give credit to the opposition also on this occasion as well as the referee. All in all I bet none of us could have realistically have expected to be in the position we're in at Christmas back at the start on the season. It's far better than anything we could have ever reasonably expected in reality. Enjoy it, have a nice Christmas and look forward to a happy new year. I'm sure Enzo has planned for players going to Afcon for a long while and with our points lead, it gives us some degree of a safety net until players return. I'd sooner have our position and points tally than anyone else's in the division, wouldn't you? That's reality.

Yes, we don't want him to get fired before the new year!
-
I see your point and I certainly agree regarding the other two dropping too deep! I've seen Vardy twice in the right back position! Whether they have misunderstood or been instructed to do that who knows? Possibly with Plymouth and Birmingham instructions were slightly different with lesser emphasis on more defensive play?
-
But are those goals down to him or the quality of the opposition? Whoever Enzo intends to play against Ipswich needs some game time against Rotherham.

Bloody Belgians, they can get reet stroppy can't they!

He wasn't on his own by a long way under Rodgers. However, allegedly certain of them supposedly changed their mind when encountering Maresca and have proved their worth like Vestergaard, Ndidi and Choudhury. Daka, after his initial escape plan, which for me was completely understandable, is likely to get his chance now to see if he can adapt to Maresca's system. I sincerely wish him well and still think there's a player in there. Fingers crossed 🤞

Very true but firstly there's nothing to suggest he's like that. Secondly, we need 2 strikers and Vardy certainly can't play all the games, you can't rely on a debutant young kid and the misfiring Iheanacho is equally likely to leave. I think at this moment in time Enzo is keeping his options open. We of course have not a clue what goes on behind the scenes with any of them.

It doesn't matter too much what he thinks, he's under contract and Leicester would only currently sell if it's financially viable and doesn't leave us in a mess or short until the end of the season depending on injuries and the form of others.
-
I remember quite a few slagging Harry Kane off when he was here, yet Shakespeare maintained that he was the most talented young player he'd worked with. Perhaps Enzo might just know what he's doing too?

I think they started chasing the moment he left on the plane over. -
They have an old manager named Drake and might park the submarine in the first half. They're guilty of sending the first boat people to America.

Absolutely agree 👍🏻

Have been there on a number of occasions over the years without problems. Probably mainly due to the fact I'm mostly with my Millwall supporting brother in law! Also been in some of the notorious Millwall pubs but of course, sort of referenced in. One of the last times I went was when we lost 1-0. Millwall fans invaded the pitch and there were horses the lot. Being in the Leicester end with my son we were kept in for about half an hour at the end. I chatted to one of the coppers on the gate and asked if was like this a lot? He replied not really, just today really, they're sore winners, it doesn't happen very often and they're confused 🤣🤣. I then met my brother in law who'd got a pass for us to get into the executive lounge and players lounge. It wasn't very executive but everyone was friendly enough.

In Mavidivi, Fatawu, Akgun, Mcateer and Albrighton we've got 5 to choose from? Think there might be other priorities first 🤔.
-
Not all but most games we've created plenty of chances I think but just not taken them.
-
Alongside Tielemans? He's better than that 😁. If we'd have had him last year, or even just Maresca, Tielemans would had been nowhere near the side.
-
There's certainly far bigger priorities.

Top of the league yet 94% manager confidence? Wonder what those 6% are aiming for and who else they think could achieve it that's gagging to come here? -
It's not necessarily that our strikers aren't decent, it's more that they aren't being employed as strikers. Vardy and Iheanacho have at times been playing very deep, even to the point of covering fullback positions on the odd occasion! When that happens don't be surprised if our wingers get forward quickly, that they subsequently don't have anyone in the opposition box to pass to. Essentially, our forwards appear to be playing as supplementary midfielders as is the current fashion for some, a bit like the current thinking of having a sweeper/goalkeeper. Both of these things are absolutely fine if the players you actually have can adequately fill those roles. In the case of the sweeper/goalkeeper I think we've signed a good one. In the case of the other position, I'd suggest Vardy and Iheanacho aren't suitable as it is openly obvious it doesn't playout to their best skill sets. Learning a new system that is relevant is admirable but, once more than a couple of your players have their individual strengths dulled and their contributions subsequently weakened it effects the team as a whole and the system cannot achieve what it originally set's out to achieve. Some of our wins have occurred not because of Maresca's system, but more down to the fact that we have a better squad of players imo. So to a lesser extent this has echoes of Rodgers, except that at least Maresca's system is a viable one. It's still early days though and you could rightly argue thst Maresca is still trying to find out who can adapt and who can't, which players are effective together and who isn't, so I've certainly not lost faith in him! He has to have a long term view as well as promotion ambitions. I do wish however that with a game like last night, that we'd start with our strongest team possible on the front foot then, if possible and ahead, make substitutions later to either give players a rest if needed or experiment. A should be easy three points in the bag are more important than thinking about your next opponents when in a league situation.
-
In that case you just have to trust what he's saying. I'd like to see him play but Maresca knows what he's doing.
-
I don't disagree in fairness. I think if we can start with a strong team and hopefully a bit more on the front foot, if we can push into the lead by a couple of goals then perhaps quite a few could be rested. We can after all use 5 subs now. I'd like to see Canon get a full half and perhaps rest KDH later on too? We can afford to start Coady I'd suggest and perhaps even Souttar?

At least Rodger's son may have earned a few bob out of the deal at Bertrands management company so not all bad eh? Apparently Bertrand is very grateful too, the best deal he ever got in football apparently .Great wages and got to sit in nice surroundings all day, have saunas and massages and watch his friends run around!
-
It's bloody cold though and if you put a foot in the sea you get hyperthermia and it drops off! Kippers are good. Harry Potter lives in Alnwick Castle and Brendan Rodgers still works there part time as a Dementor so please be wary of that as he could suck the joy and optimism out of you all over again!

Both had an international break though.
