It's a brilliant family game. I would recommend it! We will probably give it a go tomorrow
-
I've not heard anything like that. They should be able to return any unspent money if a cheaper option is found. There is an issue that local trusts/authorities find it difficult to move cash around, so they find it difficult to spend spare on things they need.
-
This is all true, though it is better since the government legislated to stop slow payments of subcontractors. It's more a general point, that I believe we spend reasonably well on health but that the cash is not reasonably spent. My big criticism of the government and health is that it hasn't done anything to address the inefficiency of the spending. I suspect that it's something that can't be fixed so it will be a political cock waving exercise between the parties on who can waste the most on the nhs.
-
Then as a taxpayer I wish they would stop wasting money on it. Whilst I like working for the nhs, it would fail much much quicker if the cash stopped flowing into it.
-
Just to say that the cash is often there but it is either misspent or not spent at all. The narrative that public spending under this government not being there in my experience is incorrect. If you want to make a real jab at the tories for not spending, the removal of the nursing grant is a better example imo.
-
I don't. Other than to say, as a random on a message board that the nhs is becoming a very good client (literally the worst in terms of actually being paid) due to the amount of cash it has to spend. Investment is in the form of planned and unplanned maintenance, covid recovery (£8 million for a temporary cancer unit at the lri is one example), and capital expenditure such as new hospitals or med centres. Prior to covid we had a good run on expenditure in education. The quality of school buildings in my experience is unreal compared to my school. Kids are lucky to be educated in this country imo.
-
The nhs currently has more investment cash than it is capable of administering. The leicester trust regularly returns cash it can't spend. Plus the nhs had its considerable debt written off. The leicester trust had £80 million or so of debt and is under investigation over 'irregularities ' to the tune of £50 million more. The NHS is becoming a very good client of ours.

We are self isolating!
-
My point is the training is similar as are the stresses, but the renumeration is typically higher with better benefits than you get in the private sector. That's before you start talking about the GPs that own the surgeries. They really really rake it in.
-
Most 'professional' jobs that require post degree qualifications take that long if not longer. This would include Engineers, Architects, Accountants etc etc. Likewise in those lesser careers, you would need to be pulling 10 hour plus days and be in a position of responsibility to be earning £85k. For my mind, being a GP isn't a bad career and its reasonably numerated.

As long as we win a cup along the way presumably?

Echo most of this. The food is generally rubbish American food and the accomodation is expensive. We stayed in Reyjavik then did 2500 miles in a week visiting everywhere else. We would go again but would rent a campervan. In Iceland you can camp anywhere unless it says you can't, all tourist attractions tend to have nice car-parks with toilets to allow campers. A day in Reyjavik followed by the Blue Lagoon is worth it on the way back to the airport. Special shout out for the Penis Museum - worth a visit. You visit for the scenery so you spend as much time as you can doing this and you will love it. We also visited a different hot spring every day we were there, the only one you pay for is the Blue Lagoon.

Places to eat with a child after the game.

It's a pleasant atmosphere after the game. Those that want food seem to book tables so I would call them in advance. There are always plenty of kids at casa romana on match day, mostly tigers fans rather than city though. Depends on what you are looking for! -
Thanks, we have been cloud based for the past 5 years or so to allow our staff to float around the offices and work remotely. We like to push a people first approach and these unmeasurable interaction don't appear to be re-created by Teams. I have also felt that we have learnt to use Teams better ie use it less. When it first came about I was doing 8 hours of teams a day which is a waste of time. I now decline a Teams meeting as readily as I would a real life one if there is no positive benefit to me attending. The WFH revolution has taught us much and the big thing is understanding why our offices are so important towards the creative and social elements of our business. I want our staff to do their 8 hours then go home and forget about work. I find compartmentalising so much easier with a short commute to work and more importantly our staff are spending less time working.
-
Can you advise what these 'systems' are that make it work so well? We generally worked at 20% reduced productivity whilst at home and I frequently had to step in to deal with mental wellbeing issues. I was shocked at the considerably longer hours that people were putting in to achieve so much less at home.

I'm now aware. I assumed the checks would be something like scanning the QR code on my phone which would be simple. Wasn't aware (feel stupid saying this) that it was going to be a total cluster**** involving students manually checking the name on your ticket matches your covid pass. Every day is a school day I suppose.
-
It is when that hasn't been an issue for the previous 10 years? I'd be willing to arrive earlier but it's clear from the standard of bar service the club would prefer you spend the minimum amount of time there as possible. Caught out a few thousand other people too?

We got to the ground at 2.50 and missed kick off. Queues were huge
-
We always use Carltons in Narborough. Small, independent and not money grabbing dicks.
-
We donated our cut turf to a nearby farmer. Not sure if they wanted it or not.
-
We hired a turf cutter and that saves days of work. Then we rotavated, topsoiled and seeded. Just need to remember to water it 3 times a day until it takes.

Easily the best country I've ever been to. I couldn't narrow down to a single area we visited though, it was spectacular from north to south.

DWH will be able to assist. Particularly if you are purchasing from them directly.
-
I doubt there are many on here that have ever tried! We what are you trying to do?

They are doing walk-ins at Boots Fosse Park. Practically begging people to take them last Saturday.
