  1. I take it all back. Saw Oxford vs Sunderland this afternoon and he had a great game. Scored with a great header, looked very assured and was awarded man of the match. Looks a great prospect. Oxford fans already fed up he’ll be leaving.
  2. I guess you didn’t watch us in the 70s. 😊
  3. I’ve seen Nelson a few times for Oxford this season, both before and after his injury. He does look very assured on the ball, can play a pass and has good positioning. But he doesn’t seem anything special in the air and doesn’t have a particular physical presence. All in all a younger version of Vestergaard. He’s good but perhaps not quite as good as people are hoping I’m afraid.
  4. As a 67 year old supporting them since 1968 and attending a handful of games each season since I agree with davieG. It’s the poor decision making and lack of vision that’s killing the club. I’ve not renewed my membership this season and haven’t been. Can’t say I’ve particularly missed it but I still look on here hoping, just hoping, that some forward thinking news might emerge but it very rarely does. So it’s not just an age thing. Older supporters are also looking for positive change and a brighter future too.
  5. 23rd May 2021. Leicester 2 vs Tottenham 4. We’d just won the FA cup for the first time and it was paraded around the ground to the reduced covid distanced crowd. This couldn’t distract from the fact that we’d managed to just miss out on the European Champions League for the second season running by messing up at the very end. Up to then Brendan was taking us to our full potential. After that we started falling apart and it has been downhill ever since.
  6. The board of directors should be forced to read it just to get an idea of how many people have either stopped, including myself, or intend to stop going. Then they might start to get an idea of the level of disillusionment with the current situation.
  7. West Heartforshire.
  8. Seems such a random result. Proves we are probably a good championship quality team. But means very little in terms of our ability to avoid relegation. A good day out for some but the quality to stay up just isn’t there.
  9. Isn’t it about time Ruud got a couple of decent and experienced backroom staff in? It seems he doesn’t want a big team of people along side him but how about getting rid of the two Cooper hangers on and bringing in a decent defensive coach and a quality assistant at least. He can’t do it all on his own. Surely his Man Utd connections could help with this.
  10. Kevin Poole?
  11. Actually since the Frank O’Farrell to Manchester United days in 1971.
  12. Thanks very much for the article. I shared it with an Everton fan who found it very interesting.
  13. Hasn’t Maresca already said he thought 3 years was the right time to stay at a club (or something similar). I also cant see him hanging around that long. A seemingly incompetent board, probably little funds to spend in the summer and spectators, many of whom detest the playing style will lead to him taking what he sees as a better opportunity. The only saving grace is that he needs to build experience and maybe be less thin skinned. But with a promotion under his belt and potentially false promises from the board and a Palace, Fulham, Wolves or Fiorentina May well await.
  14. I’m a long-standing member. I live a fair way from Leicester so only manage to get to a handful of games a season. A friend of mine who lives closer than me and is recuperating after cancer treatment would love to go to a game. However, he can’t as he has no previous booking history. So I can’t take him. It would not be worth him becoming a member but if tickets occasionally went to general sale this would be likely solution. The club don’t seem bothered to attract those people who, although neutral fans, would like to attend the odd game. Years ago they could. And if they enjoy themselves, who knows, they may want to go back for more.
  15. Since when is Parma in southern Italy? It’s between Bologna and Milan.
  16. Managed by Claudio Ranieri?
  17. Juninho absolutely. He was brilliant that day. O’Neill had the sense to man mark him in the League Cup final and Kamark did the job superbly.
  18. Crap performance, crap season generally. But there’s no way that Top will sack Brendan after two previous top 5 finishes and a European semi final, plus the huge amount of compensation that would have to be paid. He’s here for the rebuild and into next season, like it or not.
  19. In years gone by, probably Battersea, Clapham and Wandsworth but as those areas have become gentrified in the last 10/15 years probably not so much now.
  20. The most likely fit for him now would be the likes of Leeds or Newcastle. Possibly still Arsenal if Arteta was sacked. Might have been Everton if they’d nor recently appointed. Anyway, that size of club, not any other so called ‘big six’ club.
  21. Oi ..respect your elders mate. My first game was vs Burnley, April 68. Lost 2-0 sat in the double decker. I’d like to see a better match atmosphere like you but even in years gone by it was mainly down to the kop or younger fans to generate the noise. And the performance of the team led this. If the atmosphere was generated any other way it was often through the away fans boot boys ‘come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough’!
  22. And Kasper passing it to the Chelsea player on Saturday (Hudson -Odoi?) to take a pot shot at goal.
