  1. Always in the winning teams in the small sided games though isn't he. Proving us all wrong, one photo at a time.
  2. He's had a good career in the end, fair play to him. Loads of Championship appearances and a decent amount at PL level too. Always thought he'd end up a lower league player at best when he was with us. Didn't rate him at all.
  3. No, I agree - Never looked particularly fit. I was impressed with what I saw though. Looked strong and was always quick to get a powerful and accurate shot off. Fully fit and sharp I think he'd be a real asset.
  4. Stress fracture in his back I think it was. The club knew about it beforehand so he was obviously one they wanted for the future. Or to help Everton with their PSR because we're nice. One or the other.
  5. You need threads like this to get you through the Summer. Same every year. The excitement, the hope, the drama, the posters shitting themselves. Great stuff.
  6. To be fair to a lot of posters on here - The reaction to Winks was from the perspective of being a top half PL team, which we'd sort of got used to No need to eat too much humble pie until we see how he fares this season!
  7. Yeah, suppose that's possible. Would be a bit of shame to just abandon now. Especially as we've re-signed Vestergaard and have Mads in goal. I'm not particularly wedded to any system, just think a bit of continuity would be nice if possible!
  8. Love watching Ndidi playing deep and coming to receive the ball from defenders under pressure. It was my favourite part of the relegation season.
  9. Fourth loan to a football league club. He's had two play-off finals and a league win in his other three. Expect Norwich to do well if he signs for them!
  10. 16 minutes of senior football and only just back after over a year out with a serious injury. I'm all for championing academy graduates, but people are asking a bit much if they are expecting him or Alves to contribute this season. It's going to be a real grind and possibly not even the best place for their development this year. Better off going out on loan.
  11. Roma bigger and more fashionable than us, obviously. ..but the PL and potentially bigger wages might have a bit of pull. Blue tinted glasses maybe, but it depends on the player.
  12. Well obviously I don’t know, but it’s a pretty fair assumption? Makes perfect sense in your opinion maybe.
  13. I'm not aware of this. Most transfers will be leaked by agent, player, selling club etc. Drum up more interest or drive the price up - Why wouldn't they? Some will go through quietly, but 'most'?
  14. Same with Ndidi. Our club seems to live on nostalgia so were were happy to throw some money at him, even when no one else would.
  15. Really? It's a great little video!
  16. I guess selling Kasey for £10m now would cover the first year amortisation of both Soule and O'Riley. Worry about the next instalments later.
  17. A lot of his success has been down to extremely fortuitous draws in tournaments. Yes, I know you make your own luck and can only beat who's in front of you etc etc, but it's still been a big factor. I'd say he's done well in getting the nation behind the national team again, but in terms of individual games, he's probably just done what would have been expected of him as England manger. Especially with such a talented group of players.
  18. We need both. Really good replacement for KDH plus a really good number 10/rotation option for the wingers would give us a fighting chance this year I reckon. Just might not be possible financially.
  19. Yeah, all fair points. Not a meme either - He needs some backing on here as he’s clearly not ‘shit’ as many people like to claim.
  20. I know you have the stats ready to post as you’ve done many times before but… Does he pass your eye test? I love his pace and work rate, it just feels like something is missing with him. A lot of his goals felt like scruffy taps ins and he never looked comfortable to me when presented with good chances. He’s very untidy with his touch and passing too. But having said that if Cooper is looking at playing that fast transition style of football he may be a big asset. He’s the sort of player I’d love to prove me wrong though as I can’t help but like him.
  21. Well it looks like we definitely want him anyway. Prepare yourself for a season of Matias, Abdul and Stephy firing us into a European position. It's on.
  22. Both Sheff Utd and Middlesborough fans thought he was rubbish. Just another one who will be here draining resources until his contract runs out. Awful.
  23. You need to realise that everything that happened in the relegation season was down to Rodgers and Rodgers only. The (well paid) players had nothing to do with it and should take no blame. Professional pride and accountability isn't really a thing in football innit.
  24. Well it's just an opinion, so you don't have to 'have it'. You may be right due to the nature of the positions, but I maintain that Wilf's performances were as bad or worse.
  25. Danny Ward gets the majority of the criticism (which is pretty fair ), but Wilf was worse that season. I guess our hands are tied somewhat, and we need to keep him on for financial reasons. Anyway, I'll stop moaning about it now - Hopefully we don't regret it and we see some of the form from the first half of last season.
