  1. You’d think we’d be asking a similar (ish) fee for Iversen? I think he’ll be pushing for a move now.
  2. He’s a better ball player than 95% of our squad looking at the clips.
  3. Seems a nice guy and always gave his all - Good luck Dan. Awful footballer though.
  4. His name is too similar to Paddy McCarthy so on that basis it's a no from me. (He wasn't actually that bad, it was just a dark time)
  5. We got Coady and Winks in early though, so every cloud an' all that.
  6. The squad today is low on confidence, and seriously lacks creativity - It is nowhere near capable of walking the division. Most will think they're better than the Championship when they absolutely aren't...which is always a recipe for disaster.
  7. Christ. Winced at playing in the Championship again, but would do it for us... Does he genuinely think he's above that level at present?

    Evans

I'll happily die on this hill with you!
  9. I'm more of a 'football for entertainment' fan so have always enjoyed watching ASM. Would absolutely love him at Leicester Clubs look at the stats though, and you can't deny his output his very poor for the sort of money Newcastle will be asking. They'll never sell him.

    Evans

Been a good signing for us - Top player. Still a ridiculous decision by the club to even offer him that extension. If he stays fit, he'll be decent for Everton, but it's definitely not our risk to take given where we are.
  11. There's fans who are assuming the current crop will have a 'new lease of life' under Maresca and deserve a second chance. It is mental. The same fans will be calling for Enzo's head when we're 15th at Christmas.

    Vardy

If this is true he's surely got to go. It would be a shame for him to finish like it did, but the club needs to start looking after itself properly for once.
  13. Yep. Plus Soumare, Ndidi, Praet and Faes ideally. As I said though, tough to move those sort of players isn't it. Surprised if we get even a low ball offer for any of those, never mind a decent one.
  14. Coady should do OK. Absolutely no idea with Winks. The main disappointment is the lack of movement out the door. I guess we are doing all we can behind the scenes but it's very difficult to get rid of terrible players who are well paid. Lots more work to do anyway.
  15. We lost against Northampton in a friendly before we won the Championship 10 years ago...it would be a great omen if anything!

    Vardy

Do we think the club is offering him around a bit for a small fee? I don't doubt Vardy wants to stay, but I guess even with a wage reduction he'll be on £80k/week + so you can see the club wanting to get him off the wage bill. He'll be on more than double the highest earner in the Championship last year. I'm torn on it to be honest - I want a complete refresh but I also think Vardy could do well for us this season if he's fit and hungry. I suppose it depends on the budget, the way we are looking to play and how he's feeling in himself.
  17. Blackburn at home was particularly worrying.
  18. More than happy to eat a bit of humble pie, I want the club to do well after all. My opinion isn’t just based on the Liverpool game either, I’ve watched him play over 30 times for us and the majority of them were miserable. Everyone has an opinion though, innit. Hopefully I can come back to this thread in 12 months when he’s in the Championship TOTS, but having seen him play I’d say that is very unlikely.
  19. Conor Coady
  20. Judging by the previous 10 transfers, it seems we are looking for the exact opposite.
  21. It was maybe a bit inflammatory, fair enough. I agree with most of your points but with Faes; Just feel like I have seen enough of him (along with a few others!) and would love to not have to watch him play again. Pretty shocked to see there are fans that rate him - One of the reasons he'll be here next year is the fact that no other team will be silly enough to take him off our hands.
  22. Wasn't he? He's one of the worst signings we've ever made. Somehow too casual, yet rash at the same time...and watching him try to sprint after being caught out of position is painful.
  23. We're going to have another season of Ndidi and Soumare in midfield aren't we. Probably Faes at the back too. The only saving grace of relegation was the thought of never having to watch the three of them again. It's killing my excitement for the new season.
  24. Are we streaming the friendlies on YouTube again this season?
