This thread is getting as bad as the match day ones for knee jerk reactions. Yes, a much weakened bowling attack, but look at the other scores with the Kookaburra from day one both today and last week. We’re in a very similar position to the Glamorgan game after day one. It’s unlikely we’ll have as good a day two, but still plenty of time. Our probably 9th/10th best bowler in Walker goes for 17 in his first two overs but comes back and plays a crucial role. It kind of sums up the grittiness shown again. The drop of Geddes might cost us (if it was a drop) but otherwise there wasn’t much wrong. Has anyone seen any replays of the Hanscomb catch to get rid of Du Plooy? The stream missed it.

You can request certain fixtures at certain times of year. I can’t remember who it was requested they be away from home so much early in the season due to ground work a few years ago. It’s also why there’s local derbies on bank holidays in non-league. I have no idea why Liverpool or us might always request to play that fixture then though!?! (Apart from the usual three points they get).

I think he told Richard Rae he’d play T20 if asked a couple of years ago in an interview and I’d be surprised if he’s changed his mind since then.

Very small boundary. As @Staff said, we were short. There was way too much leg side bowling but think that was from the bowlers trying to divert it away from the small boundary. I don’t think anyone has defended anything under 200 at Edgbaston so far this season in the Blast. To a man (except for Scriven) Derbyshire were just better all round.
