  1. We’re going down with the Luton then?
  2. Was left one on one with an isolated Luke Shaw; that’s going to easy for him given he was being doubled up last season by defenders of superior fitness and quality. Nice to see him go on the outside.
  3. We’ll see - every since Nelson was injured Martin has been on a massive charm offensive towards Souttar.
  4. This has been happening. You mention it makes you feel better personally - is that true, or do you find yourself stuck in a negative feedback loop? You also highlight a lack of effort. So why are the players ducking? What reasons could you offer for why they’re not putting in maximum effort?
  5. One of our better players Saturday, looked far more comfortable on the right of a two. Laid on Bobby’s chance, showed he does have a range of pass, had a goal bound header blocked by Bobby.
  6. I wouldn’t be so sure; their chairman has been working on this, if there’s a chance, they’ll get him in.
  7. Making money does not shield someone from psychological effects of criticism. I’d also point out that if the criticism vented is primarily designed to illicit better performance; there’s not much evidence it’s working.
  8. Currently a Wrexham player.
  9. This is a problem though isn’t it, because realistically, you can’t do both. If you want to support the youngsters, you have to forgive them mistakes, poor choices, up and down form, results etc. That said - I think fans behaviour at matches is more of a side issue. For me, the thing having a far more detrimental effect on players is the brutally negative social media engagement you see these days. To a degree, players can shrug off crowd noice easily enough; but the social media stuff is just constant and directly in their face. Can you even begin to imagine seeing 100+ messages a week saying you’re shit at your job? You know, nothing constructive, just “your crap.” I fully expect many to point out “well x player” deserves it - but that doesn’t address whether giving said player that criticism is ultimately going to help them to improve their performance.
  10. I actually meant our former James and his infamous tweet
  11. Must be time for James to come out with another tweet about being way too good to go down.
  12. It could happen tomorrow. If not, the teams below us play a day afterwards, so drop zone by Wednesday.
  13. We could drop into the relegation zone tomorrow; Wimbledon and Wigan, both below us, play each other tomorrow. Currently sat in 20th place, a win for either side would take them above us and push us below the line!
  14. Yes, but he’s wasted as the main holding player. If Martin play’s Braybrooke alongside, I’m certain they alternate for each other in terms of forward runs. But in Martin’s system, where he’s playing him he has to be more disciplined and just sit in front of the back four.
  15. End of the day, we’re not going to sack him before we’re 10 games in; so he has a chance to show he’s making some progress for a little while yet. BUT in the meantime, it is worth highlighting how stupid it was for him to; 1.) Not insisting on getting his main striker for the season in and sorted for the start of pre-season. 2.) In the absence of above, sending the striker he had been playing the most during pre-season, Otchere, out on loan so soon. The combination of these two aspects has directly impacted the squads familiarity in attacking phases of play; and should help to explain why we don’t seem to know what to do with the ball when we get to the final third.
  16. We’re still quite easy to defend against; we offer very little threat from wide areas so defences can just stay narrow and snuff out our play around the box in central areas.
  17. He’s sabotaging himself through poor decision making.
  18. Disappointed Biscuit isn’t on his toes, expecting the knock back there.
  19. I don’t mind it - I’d play him over Bobby
  20. Hang on Martin - you want to take Thomas off as well (both centre backs on a booking now).
  21. Jake Evans assist, Cheltenham 2-1 up
  22. Yes, Watson that’s the cross you should have done last time.
  23. That should have been a double change really. Martin only has one more stoppage left.
