  1. Not necessarily - we can and probably will be banking on another largish sale before the end of June next year.
  2. They will know exactly the same as the sources they quote in their tweets… but to give them their due, they quote the sources and don’t pretend to be the providers of original information.
  3. What are you on about - this topic is only on page 29 so far - it’s miles short of those two.
  4. Until Chelsea decide they want him / whenever PSR demands require a sale.
  5. The delay in announcing was apparently caused by club officials struggling to obtain the appropriate musical rights for the song used in this video. ABBA were not keen I’ve heard and it required quite some convincing.
  6. I wouldn’t subscribe to your suggestion they wouldn’t be popular again now as fresh candidates in the current era (i.e. unburdened from political decisions they have made whilst in office) - both were and are skilled politicians that knew how to play the political landscape and resonate across key demographics of voters. Mean if we think about it - Blair came in at a time when Tory sleaze was at it’s height, but was seen by many at the time as a fresh alternative (hence the wave of optimism that was felt on his victory in 1997). Obama came in not long after the Clinton ‘affair’ - followed President Bush - and represented a historic first for America, and again enjoyed a similar wave of optimism upon gaining office. The other key thing is - what we see on social media and from political commentators is pre-judged positions that will never change… but these are ultimately outliers of public opinion. The quiet majority tend to be like most ordinary people - willing to give people a fair chance to show their good side.
  7. Really? Minimal club experience (few games as caretaker manager) and I don’t think he’s reached more than 50 games for the Under 21’s. Managing the full set-up, with big-ego pro’s would be very different to the juniors. I don’t see the FA going this way personally - much to big of a risk.
  8. He’s got out at the right time. England’s upcoming Nations League fixtures of Ireland, Finland and Greece are no gimmies AND World Cup qualifying might be tricky given I believe we’re not going to be a top seed. Whoever the new man is - they’ll need to hit the ground running.
  9. Isn’t war already happening on the European continent? And yes, the US removing financial support for Ukraine would put their defensive effort in a very tricky position… but maybe that would lead to a negotiated peace with Russia gaining some of the disputed territories? Something that would allow all parties to claim some sort of victory?
  10. Ok, but if a fair proportion US population kinda like that sort of stuff and will vote for it in sufficient numbers - what can you do?
  11. You have to be in the penalty area to score inside the penalty area. The amount of times Kane was absent when crossing opportunities came was a telling sign. But the biggest sign that Kane wasn’t fit - I don’t recall seeing him make a high intensity sprint throughout the tournament.
  12. Has there been any update on the cactus’s status?
  13. Tuchel’s available isn’t he? But is he too kinky (rumoured) for the FA?
  14. I’d go Howe over Potter personally - just think there’s a bit more about him. I do question, however, if either are “winning” managers. And looking through social media this morning and all the strongly tribal opinions being offered - it does remind you what a horrible, thankless job this is.
  15. To answer my own question by the way - got distracted! I want a manager that’s into their data analytics. I think a manager into data would be better at picking balanced squads, but more importantly fitting players into a functional system. Just picking on visual form - feels a poor process.
  16. I’m expecting the evangelical route - God saved Trump to save America. What’s clear is it’s going to be absolutely unbearable for any sane person to watch the fallout from all of this unfold. There’s already social media spammers picking out people from the crowd via the footage and declaring their reactions as ‘not normal’ suggesting they’re some sort of plant or agent of the state.
  17. I don’t think they’ll bother doing that - I expect them to just accept the ‘L’.
  18. Southgate’s future hasn’t been decided yet… but clearly it will over the coming days. So, who do you want? Does anyone want to make a case for Southgate staying on? And perhaps more interestingly, what are the key criteria /skills / competencies you’re looking for in the next England manager?
  19. That’s because he’s never been employed as a wingback. But add into this - Fatawu was played on the side of the inverted wingback - the side that requires more defensive discipline. There’s a reason why Mav never ended up on that side and it wasn’t purely down to Enzo’s stubbornness.
  20. She can’t catch a break can she - her big Sunday newspaper splash and it’s immediately overshadowed by events elsewhere.
  21. For those suggesting Klopp as next manager - I have no doubt it would be fun and I get why many would want him. BUT - I question whether he could get his high energy gengenpress to work at an end of season tournament - especially given the deficit in coaching time he’d have compared to club football. Additionally… I’m not certain the FA would go for him anyway.
  22. They certainly did. And when we did play high, we looked a lot better.
  23. If you watch it back, our defensive line was too deep. It allowed one pass into the midfield with no pressure, time to turn - further one a little further up - then one more into the striker. Walker, already tucked in, comes in further, to be done by the ball out wide. Early cross and good finish - and yes, good play all round by Spain, but a deep defensive line allowed Spain too much space.
  24. It didn’t excuse not noticing that Croatia had changed shape and were killing you down the flanks due to your own shape.
