Group C: Slovenia, Denmark, Serbia, England
Corky replied to Mark's topic in General Football and Sport
I doubt they have a great relationship after all the nonsense years ago. -
And a very good squad at that level, too. I like Micky Adams but if he had failed to get that squad promoted he should have been heavily criticised.

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)
Corky replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
I don't generally mind Man City but their attitude towards other teams and now this is ridiculous. They are everything they used to hate about their neighbours. -
"Real Madrid have won 15 European Cups, PSG have won none. Mbappe says he's joining a bigger club and, with no disrespect to PSG, Real are a bigger club". Thanks for that.
-
"Every week someone comes up to me and says I saved their family with furlough during the pandemic". Like when Rodgers claimed that Rangers fan went up to him and said he was great for Scottish football.

Switching on Sky Sports News to be met with Kaveh Solhekol explaining every story as though the viewers are all eight year old children.

Cricket (None Leicestershire County Cricket Club)

The BCCI hate us. No, seriously, it is adjusted up for the overs lost. -
Where were the chairman's mates? Thousands of influencers? You need to grow your brand, man. As for Coalville, great news. Your team playing at whatever level is the only important thing. Good luck for the future, lads.

VAR in a friendly

Exactly. In three years we have gone from having a more than reasonable chance of attracting most managers in the league below the top six to the favourite and popular choice being a good Championship manager who hasn't won promotion. It says volumes that the club have had a swipe at the departing manager and even people who weren't fully behind Maresca, or ok with him going, have told them to wind their necks in. Look, Chelsea will always be attractive to any manager or player of ours. Far more pressing is that we are becoming less and less attractive.

Especially in the North East where they love their football.

This is going to be a long, drawn out process, isn't it? Can't wait.

I like the bloke and he did the job required. If he wanted to go, and the compensation was fair, then best to move on. The club can do one, their treatment of supporters had been dreadful so **** off with your lack of loyalty whines.

Should join so we can sing his name to Mambo Italiano.

Graham’s Arsenal v Keegan’s Newcastle
Corky replied to Aus Fox's topic in General Football and Sport
Couldn't we actually have had both at Leicester? Graham was linked when Taylor was sacked and I'm sure I read that the current ownership liked Keegan (he hadn't long left his second spell at Newcastle). -
Everything about BT/ TNT now seems so forced. Fletcher and his bloke down the pub routine to Ferdinand and "vibes", a curious mix where nothing fits together. Yet they also had the vastly popular Goals Show for a time. Definitely choosing names over ability.
-
They reached three finals between 2008 and 2011 but two were against Guardiola's Barcelona. I know they won in it in 1999 (after being totally outplayed for virtually the whole game) but they should have done more from the mid 90s to mid 2000s.

Five times as many European Cups for Real than Man United. Staggering.
-
Poor display bar the last six of ours and first six of theirs. They didn't play very well either, gifted wickets and dreadful bowling and fielding.
-
We have wasted half this match. If we hadn't it would be done.
-
The bowling and fielding since the end of the Powerplay has been abysmal.
-
Should go past 160 here.
