Game on.
-
They have drawn 1-1 three times in eight games.
-
Offside in the build up.
-
It does. You saw against Birmingham how devastating we can be if the game is open.
-
Saints are nowhere near as strong away, either. They should win but it is likely to be close.

Lee Mack gets a pass for the early series of Not Going Out and the Sketch Show.
-
Excellent work. Incredible it was required in the first place but still, you have pushed to help fellow supporters.

What are the views on 3G pitches? How cost effective is it to install? The amount of matches called off at the moment will lead to some serious pile-ups in the next couple of months. Some games I know have been postponed multiple times.
-
I randomly saw them in a League Cup game at Norwich in the early 2000s. They were a fourth tier side away to a mid table Championship team and their support was unbelievable. Has always stuck with me since.

Jonathan Pearce commentates like a Harry Enfield/ Paul Whitehouse creation.

Seems like another Harry Redknapp type- seen as this great man manager but go beneath the surface and it is a lot different. That is what a great PR machine does for you.

And the thing about Everton is that had they gone down in the previous two seasons without a points deduction then the owner would be getting all the flak, as he was before the punishment. Now they've been hit and it's all a conspiracy to stop them, cartel, closed shop BOOO etc. Everton lost £370 million in three years. I've seen several reports saying that relegation would all but end the club. I have no idea why they are getting so much sympathy and the MPs fighting their "cause" are doing no favours.

This whole "think of the fans" thing is utterly ludicous. If a loved one committed a crime then it would affect me but I don't expect them to get off the charge if it warrants a sentence because my feelings would be hurt and life altered by it. Fans have to trust whatever the club is doing. If it messes up, we suffer by association. Shit but what it is.

Why the **** would the Premier League be out to stop Everton alone? They haven't been in the top six for a decade and were bottom half regulars before this time. Such an odd bunch. They have spent half a billion to be in relegation battles yet the authorities are trying to stop them!?

Tarkowski is a thug. Dyche very neatly talking about how bad diving was years ago meant this type of thing isn't focused on.
-
I said I didn't think he should lose his job. I don't know what the consequences should be- I wouldn't be against him and others having to justify why they did it to the affected parties such as Top or Bradley Lowery's family who were referenced. I don't think any explanation makes you look good and might make people think twice before doing it but realise it isn't really practical- I just find the whole stuff around mocking deaths and tragedies pathetic. I know it won't stop and this will carry on ad infinitum. Just worse that grown men do it and not always immature kids.

PET HATES FROM COMMENTATORS/PUNDITS
Corky replied to OnlyOneCity's topic in General Football and Sport
I find Drury/ Weaver/ Matterface worse because of the scripted nonsense but "Fletch" and his need to fill every second with talking also grates. Too much narrative in commentary now instead of seeing what is happening. -
Like Harry Winks did at QPR?
-
I agree that I don't think it warrants losing employment or things like that but if something did happen I have little sympathy. You are in full control of what you type and if you resort to it then tough shit if negativity comes your way. Can't even use anger or frustration as an excuse as they won the ****ing game! Cannot stand this side of football where human tragedies are used to do whatever is intended. Usually it is from grown adults as well.
-
I don't think it will be. We'd not been down to ten men before so no comparison and probably the worst game to happen in with a lively home crowd, an in form team and not many real attacking options available.
-
Southampton are in great form at home but still drawing regularly away and not always at strong teams. They still have to play us, Ipswich, Leeds and West Brom away. Ipswich with their first win in six. We have set a relentless pace and don't need to panic. We didn't after previous defeats.
-
Sad behaviour, really. If they enjoy it then says more about them.
-
We are the top scorers in this league. They are just whacking teams at home like we have been doing.
-
It is the first time under this manager we have been down to ten so nothing to compare it with.
