  1. Goal for Sunderland
  2. Should also take into consideration the change of mindset when positions change. At the moment Leeds and Southampton have everything to gain, if they get to the top two there is then something to lose. Huge shift mentally.
  3. That bloke whose tweet was put on here about leaving every game early to spend time with people who aren't interested in football- wouldn't it be better to miss the first 10 minutes than the last 10? Walking away before Ulloa's goal v Norwich, Howard v Leeds, King v Plymouth, Hignett v Arsenal and many others and generally what should be the most exciting moments of the game. I doubt many have regretted getting it at 10 past 3 before.
  4. Some hilariously bad finishing in this game.
  5. Hope everyone leaves 10 minutes early.
  6. Romero is a disgrace.
  7. I did like the commentator earlier apologising for any offence when "shit" was heard, which hasn't happened since Arthur Atkinson was on stage.
  8. He is doing the typical shitstirrer thing of turning a nuanced debate into a farce and then probably crying about being cancelled or silenced or whatever crap. The increased coverage of football has brought about the need for more pundits. 25 years ago, when we had MOTD and a couple of live games a week, no social media etc you needed about 5 pundits then the odd current player or manager to fill in. Now, with infinite matches and space to fill, having the same two or three wouldn't be possible. Women in football isn't the problem. Some pundits don't offer much, some do like Lucy Ward and Emma Hayes. Some men are great, some aren't. Barton and his like are completely the wrong people to get involved in this subject and sadly it emboldens the mysogynists rather than allow people to put across considered viewpoints.
  9. Glad the team and manager don't have the same half arsed attitude as the fans.
  10. Dreadful kick off time.
  11. Two of those all Premier League matches would probably not be shown on TV in the league yet we get them in this. Magic.
  12. Everton will survive comfortably, they are better than most of the bottom half.
  13. I wonder if the referee thought Grealish was either offside or believed a defender would get round to cover therefore no advantage. It looks poor from the side angle but the ref's angle is different.
  14. To be fair if the ref tried to move away one of the Man City players would only drag him back.
  15. He played in the World Cup, didn't he?
  16. Don't they split these games up randomly? Could see this being at 2pm Sunday for "international coverage".
  17. I don't like Matterface but fair play to ITV for sending their first choice commentators to these games, gives the match full respect.
  18. Bit of a nondescript tie. TV is really struggling beyond three obvious ones, can see Tottenham v Burnley filling a slot for numbers.
  19. Managers without experience of this level doing very well like Maresca, McKenna and Rosenior. Even at the bottom Cifuentes and Rohl are improving their teams.
  20. Women's football still benefitting hugely from it's lower profile but if it grows financially and through more coverage I can see a few high profile players becoming far less popular.
  21. The desire we need. Could have settled for a decent point but sprinted upfield to win it.
  22. It cannot be called off that late without a sudden weather change. 5 minutes before kick off is unacceptable.
  23. That is a huge result. Character needed then shown after conceding.
  24. The scenes at our place two years ago have a good indication.
  25. We are a difficult fan base to get right, as it were. You can blame the old biddies and Coach 1 regulars who get plenty of grief but, in fairness, the young lads who should be making the noise are often on their phones or singing in concourses. Home atmospheres are one thing- it isn't realistic to get 25k going at once and in unison- but the away support should be different. Too much is made of what is happening on the pitch. I've been in great away ends giving ironic or tubthumping chants when we are being thrashed. There is no excuse for top of the league fans to be seriously saying the quality of football isn't conducive to a good away atmosphere.
