He went off injured yesterday, I've seen news (maybe rumours) today that he will miss the final.

Championship 2024/2025 Season Thread
Fox92 replied to Happy Fox's topic in General Football and Sport
Lampard has put together Coventry's best run of form in 55 years. 8 wins in 9. Don't think anybody expected him to do so well. -
He acted like a knob. Referee had already blown the whistle but then he continues grappling until he throws an arm out. Players get away with enough already. I'm glad he got sent off.

There hasn't been long term strategy for years. In the Championship, we should have been looking at players who would improve the squad should we get promoted. Promotion was clearly the aim. Instead we signed players who were decent enough to get us up but not actually good enough for the Premier League (aside from Hermansen and potentially Fatawu). Enzo then leaves and Cooper inherits a poor squad but also doesn't improve it. Getting players with experience is fine but there has to be a limit on what is spent on them. In the last two summer's we've spent a combined near £35m on three players that have not improved us and we will make a loss on (Coady/Skipp/Ayew). Ayew has at least scored us a match winning goal and a last minute equaliser but the fee in which we pay out for players like this is mental. -

Which bit? -
As far as I am aware this was only for the North London derby and led by the police, not the clubs.

Yes it's true. I saw a lot of posts on here earlier in the season saying "a better manager would have this squad in xxx position in the table", often quoting midtable! The squad was never good enough and 17th should have been our aim. I cannot comment on recruitment. We have a failing DOF who must oversee recruitment. That's in his job title. I don't know who we would have signed if Enzo was here but lets not pretend recruitment was excellent under him because it wasn't. We still spent £8m on Coady and £7m on Cannon last summer. He's then gone to Chelsea and signed Dewsbury-Hall who was never good enough for a top 6 club. -

Van Nistelrooy is worse. 6 consecutive home games without a goal, not sure how people are still comparing or making exuses for him. Nobody said it went "beyond the manager" when Cooper was here. Some of the excuses for Van Nistelrooy are incredible. -

Manager never being good enough in the first place doesn't help. Could see it "a mile off", as the saying goes. -
Nothing to do with "systems" and formations. Vestergaard is just not good enough. Even in his most suited formation what he would bring to the team? He's slow, he can't run, for his height he's terrible in the air, he is weak and gets knocked off the ball with ease. He's terrible and clearly a knob as well. We're talking about a top flight footballer here. A player that has cost us £15m plus lots in wages. If he is unable to play in a particular formation then he should be moved on. A manager must pick players for a formation, not pick a formation built for specific players.

Newcastle too, given all the money they've thrown at it, even more so if they lose the league cup final. They've gone much longer without a major trophy than Tottenham.
-
Hopefully Bournemouth win and we get a different club winning the competition. Great season to be in it.
-
I posted after the last round that it’s a great year to be in it. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs all out.
-
Great finish that.

The definitive list of King Power / John Rudkin c**k ups.

The fact Mahrez only went for £60m is still sickening. -

Another player badly man managed. Van Nistelrooy never starts him in home games but we play an important away game and he suddenly picks him. Yet Ayew's strength is actually holding the ball up and we need that in an away game like yesterday. His form is bound to drop off a cliff when Van Nistelrooy picks him here and there, then drops him and then only brings him on for 20 minutes a game. When he played every week he was our best player. -
Some of the comments in this thread were laughable last year. People thought he suddenly turned good despite the fact he was just playing in a lower division.
-
Yeah, obviously trying to catch them winning the league on TV. I thought this one would get moved.
-
This ownership deserve it. Deserve everything they get.
-
I'll say it again, he is the worse centre half I've seen here given the input the club have put into him (transfer fee and wages). He can't run, he's not fast, he's not good in the air, he's not strong. He can't do anything. Absolute joke he got a new contract.

Yes I read what you wrote. You ended with "he started with a team that already looked bad and destined for relegation" which is simply not true. He has made this team worse and that was my point. My last line was not aimed at you personally or your post, hence I edited my original post to add it on. -

He started with a team outside the relegation zone that was scoring the odd goal. We were poor but not "destined" for relegation at that stage. He has made the team worse. 0 goals in 6 consecutive home games should be a sackable offence alone. I said weeks ago that it was a laugh that people on here were defending this manager but now I cannot see how anyone in their right mind can defend him. He's a joke. -

I said this at the time RE Potter, why would he want to come and work for these idiots.
