I can see why you'd think that, but I don't think this season is a repeat of 2022/23. Back then, we had a high quality squad (Danny Ward notwithstanding) that should never had been near to the relegation zone, but whose relationship with the manager had completely broken down, totally decimating morale. That was one of the most mentally weak Leicester teams I've ever seen. This season our squad isn't as strong and our manager is tactically limited, but his relationship with the players appears strong and morale seems good. If we go down this season, it won't be because of a lack of fight as it was in 2022/23 - it will be because of a weaker squad and a tactically limited manager. However, as others have pointed out, Cooper has significantly less credit in the bank than Rodgers did. If we lose a few games and get dragged towards the bottom three, he will be gone.

Both of the candidates for the role of his next boss are peddling the line that there has been a cover up, so that is the line he is taking. He's protecting his career.

Almost certainly. Possibly Ernie Hine too, but most likely just the two Arthurs.

Zero expectation about this one and not even that bothered about it, yet will be heading to the Leicester pub off Great Portland Street to watch it anyway. It seems that supporting this team is just a habit I’m never going to break…🙄

Presumably Fatawu will retain his place on Saturday then…

Notts Forest (H) 25th Oct - 8pm. Match Thread

He’s occasionally brilliant but more often a liability. I hope the rumour that we’re after another centre-half in January is true. -

I’m bracing myself for Cooper to finally pick the team that we’ve all been crying out for, then bring Ayew, Kristiansen and BDR on at half-time when we’re 2-0 down…. -

I was confused. When Tommy Wright's name was first mentioned I assumed it was the early 1990s version, but then Ric said he still looked exactly the same as in his playing days and I thought, "Eh...?" -

Nah. We’re more likely to get KDH back. -

There's something slightly fishy about the Vestergaard situation. He was mysteriously absent for us for several weeks after there were media reports about player unrest - the suspicion being that Vestergaard was the source and had been frozen out as a result. Eventually Cooper said that Vestergaard had been injured the whole time, which was a bit odd as usually player injuries are mentioned at the time they occur, not to belatedly explain several weeks of absence. Then the international break comes and he plays twice for Denmark with no issues. The following week he's out of our squad for Southampton, although he was apparently available. Now he's had a sudden reoccurrence of the injury. A bit odd. -

Buonanotte clearly is not going to be our player next season. The returning-on-loan KDH will have some pretty big shoes to fill.... -
On the WYS podcast last night Rob Tanner said he expected us to try and sign a new centre-half in January.

We contrived to go down with Tielemans, Barnes, Ricardo Maddison and Vardy in the squad. It was a complete capitulation, not the inevitable outcome of years of squad weakening.

The weird thing is that it's the people who reckon they hated watching us last season and were delighted when Maresca left that are most obsessed with him. You'd think they'd just be happy that he moved and forget him, but no - some of them harbour a very bitter grudge against him. It's all a bit unconvincing, like some tearful teenager phoning an ex-girlfriend at 3am to tell her he never liked her much anyway and is really, really happy they split up because he's got a much better girlfriend now...

Southampton 2 - 3 Leicester POST MATCH

It’s not the first time this season when we’ve only started to perform once Cooper has been forced to abandon the plan he approached the game with. There’s a clear pattern. -
Eh?

Well quite. At the daily attrition rate I mention just above, even a country with a population the size of Russia is going to have trouble getting enough trained men to the front at some point. It also makes you wonder how successfully they're hiding the true extent of their losses back in Russia - it wouldn't do much for recruitment purposes if it was known that being sent to the front meant a very high chance of being dead within weeks.
-
I just read that the average daily casualty rate of Russian soldiers in September was 1,271. At that rate, and assuming they were all chucked at the front line, it would take just under eight days to deal with all the North Korean soldiers.

I was just thinking that what that conflict needs is for Kim Wrong 'Un to get involved. Lovely.

Both incredible matches. I've searched in vain for footage of that Liverpool game but with no luck. I don't think it exists -

The 4-3 against Leeds in 1989 also deserves a mention in this category.
