Interesting World Series between the Astros and the Phillies. Phillies qualified via the new wild card structure of the playoffs after finishing 3rd in the NL east and making it all the way to the final (beating the NL #1 team Braves and fellow wildcard team San Diego in the NLCS). As a Mets fan, I hate the Phillies but all of baseball hates the Astros due to the 2017 cheating scandal. I want the Astros to win purely because I cannot bare Philly taking the WS as a divisional rival. The Astros however were stellar in their own right throughout the playoffs and the regular season this year. In local baseball, your Leicester Blue Sox were crowned Midlands Champions this year after winning the league with a 13-1 record. We lost the national final (after beating teams from Cambridge and Guildford) to Croydon though which sucked. Looking forward to 2023!

We've got our own field at Western Park. We set up the fences and bases every game day but the back stop and base cut outs are permanent fixtures. The only spectators we get are usually friends and family of the players and people walking their dogs. We've got a small pool of umpires and they do get paid for their time, but yeah there's been some quite awful officiating over the years. We usually know who the good ones are.

Leicester has a baseball club (Leicester Blue Sox) and we play in a Midlands league against teams from around the region such as Long Eaton, Birmingham, Worcester, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, Telford and Clifton. Anyone ever interested in giving baseball a try, we train on Wednesdays at Western Park (off Park View) 6pm, home games are on Sundays.

I've not posted here in a while (apologies) I just lurk the forum now days. But I just wanted to send my support for this cause and I'd be happy to contribute as well.

Had a good day. Played some hard fought baseball against the defending champions Milton Keynes Bucks. We won 8-3! We're sitting at the top of the Midlands division. 3 Wins, 0 losses! Come on Blue Sox!!! Bring on Nottingham next week.

Glad to hear Josh Cobb is doing well for LCCC. Had good laughs with him in year 10 and 11 Spanish lessons.

Shattered. Baseball training from 10-3 in preparation for the new season. Had to shoot off to work right after as well!

Quite right. I've gotten into UFC over the past year and i highly recommend any boxing fan to watch it. I still love watching boxing and following it but MMA is great stuff. Can't wait for April for Jones v Evans. Evans will get destroyed!
