To be fair the issue wasn't that Rodgers didn't play him. It's that he followed the guy around for 18 months begging him to come to us, when he finally does come for £15 million and 80k a week, Rodgers then decides he's not good enough. The more I think about Rodgers time here the more I'm convinced he'd had enough and was just tanking us to get his payout.

To be fair I've always said it should be used for corners as you can 99.99% of the time tell within one replay if the ref has called it wrong or not. Imagine it being used on free kicks and yellow cards especially though Literally every minute or two there'll be a VAR check. I always thought money might cause the football reset, but I'm starting to wonder if it'll be these mad law makers and their new toy VAR that'll do it.

I thought the second one for Fulham was definitely a pen tbh, Alan Smith saying "he didn't know Wilson was there" as if it's some justification for bringing him down How they gave the first Fulham one I don't know though. The Wolves player gets a touch on the ball and makes minimal if not zero contact with the Fulham player.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

My dad told me that when he was a kid, he was minding his own business reading the programme pre-match against Watford one year. When he took a stray missile on the dome from Luther Blissett during the warm ups. He'd get the red carpet treatment these days but I think Blissett just laughed and put his hand up apologetically -

Man I loved Les Ferdinand, I think don't think I've seen anyone hit a ball as hard as Les could. Wish I could find highlights of the 2-2 cus I swear he jumped about 4 feet in the air to score a header. Man must have been able to squat a double decker bus. -
I think everyones accepted he's a very expensive cheerleader.

Rotherham or draw is 2/1 lads if you're that sure Leeds won't win

He seemed like a bit of a nob at Everton, can't imagine he will be good for morale with a bunch of non league lads

I did dabble between the 4 1 4 1 and the 4 2 3 1 For me Bellingham would just be allowed to go where and he wants and do what he wants

I would love an exciting team like this. 5 players capable of creating and scoring goals. Plenty of pace and strength at the back. Pickford Walker Tomori Guehi Chillwell Rice Bellingham Saka Foden Grealish Kane

Rodgers came out post match and said he was happy with the control in the 2nd half of the WBA game. A game in which we created a tonne of chances in the first half and almost nothing in the 2nd half. I might be misunderstanding your post, but Rodgers was more interested in passes than goals in that WBA, whereas pre Liverpool/Man City - October 2019 Rodgers wanted his team to get forward and score goals.

Fair point. @BKLFox i've done you a disservice sorry

Ladies and gentlemen, Ben Petty's burner account

Seems to be the case. Really hope he can avoid it. Our approach to games under Rodgers changed for the worse after the 2 beating from Man City and Liverpool. Aside from odd anomaly we were so much more passive and safety first. Plenty of time for him to find the right balance and no real concerns yet, it's just something worth noting at the minute. I never saw the Swansea game but the highlights seemed to be packed with us getting bodies forwards and causing them real trouble. I think we created more good chances in that game than we probably have in the 3 most recent games combined.

There's a world of difference between being able to saunter out of defence with a the full view of the pitch and having to take passes on the half turn and having the awareness to pick out your team mates under pressure.

I'm really torn on that Mudryk one. His only intention was to get to the ball first and didn't care where it went (he's side footed it to the keeper and never gonna get to it). However, the Italy defender is late and clumsy and does take Mudryk down, so I can see why some people would look and say it's a foul. Factoring in that the ball is essentially dead due to Mudryk's touch though, I'd say a penalty would be incredibly harsh. I feel like fouls should only be punished if the player has been hindered, if the player has kicked the ball out of play or to the goalkeeper because their only intention was the buy the foul, then I think play on. I think most people can tell if a player has manipulated a situation, mainly as it looks so unnatural.

Fancy North Macedonia to pick something up tonight

I feel like we did this well earlier in the season, we clearly wanted to knock it about but the players seemed more keen to take advantage of a high press and release one of the 3 forwards. It must be comforting to the opposition when you're allowed to press without fear of the other team knocking it over you
