Millwall 1-0 LCFC, post-match thread
filbertway replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Today is the day it hopefully dawns on Marti that a good portion of the seniors have let him down. Anyone with a brain fancied us to lose today. Nows the time to turn this shit sandwich around -
The situation has been crap but today will be the best day Wednesday fans have had for a good couple of years. They can start to have hope again now.

I think the reality is its a couple of players who are likely counting down the months. Ina lot of cases its just that the players aren't that good, we certainly dont have many that stand out as being too good at this level. We were massively carried by KDH and Ndidi at key moments last time we were in the league

Nah, thats mental. He's grim. Are you the same poster that kept weirdly referring to RVN as "the dutchman"? Haha
-
If theres any good reason not to sack Marti, this is probably number 1
-
Sounds like a good city break ruined by footie At least you went with no expectations, it softens the blow haha. Can imagine theres gonna be some sore heads on that flight i imagine mythos sales were very healthy haha Safe journey back mate!

Hope not.

Well, didnt expect him to turn into a pub player tonight

Ready for Gezzy to be giving it the beans here! 3/3 for the predictions so far. Hard to see past Price in this one
-
Just realised its Smith vs Wright Schindler v Chizzy could be a 180 fest as well to be fair

3 0 after half hour. Hope the trip was decent at least

Abaolutely, you can usually tell in 2 legs if Ross Smith is on it or not. Hes either hitting T20 all the time or just falling below Joyce v Woody is a tough call. Going for Joyce as I think hes been better overall Great having this on itv4 rather than having to get pdc tv cast to the screen! Luxury time

Buzzing for that one Lots of good match ups tonight. Gutted that 2 of my favourite players Heta and Van Veen are up against each other.

Yeah it's not been great at all, I just can't bring myself to write off a manager who's had little maneuverability in the market and stuck with a fair few dossers that clearly wanted out. Unless we plummet drastically I'm more than happy for him to get the season and build up. I don't see things improving under another manager. We badly lack the spirit and physicality that a lot of team have. The only thing I can't get my head around is the lack of youth involvement, but as he alluded to in his post-match interview, it seems like he's wanting to give the senior players a fair crack, which I assume is an attempt to try and maintain some form of harmony at the club. Just trying to think big picture on that one, if they continue to disappoint and we still don't see some of the younger lads making the squad then I will reassess in January. I feel for any bloke that's had to walk into this mess so he's getting a lot of slack from me atm.

I think now we've added Ramsey and James. If those 2, Fatawu and Monga are able to stay fit then then expectation has to be play offs. Before we added Ramsey and James though I was ready for mid table. As long as Marti keeps learning and improving then I'll be satisfied. We're a quarter into the season and still have a lot of players paid vastly better than their quality and you can't attribute any of that at Marti. if he had any say in the Ramsey and James loans then to me that's a good sign. We need more athletic players across the park and more importantly we need to start adding good characters.

It's not, but creating chances really isn't an issue they generally have

Hull 2-1 LCFC, post-match thread

Had they not been knackered there was so much space to play into. The choice tactics made perfect sense for that point in time. Starting a game with them would be insane -
Millwall (A) 15:00 Sat 25th, Pre-Match
filbertway replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Feel like people are disregarding the fact that Hull decided to just let us attack for the last 20-30 mins or so. If we start a game with that team that finished we'll get absolutely blitzed on the counter by fresh teams. If Hull had any energy or desire to score after we went to a back 3 they definitely could have. -
I liked the changes and I like how scathing he was of himself. I think the draws have papered over some cracks. Losses to Hull and Millwall will serve as a wake up call and turning point I think/hope. Even better if the loss to Hull serves as a wake up call, but with it being a 3 game week I expect the rotations have already been planned. My only continuing disappointment is the lack of academy players making the bench. Hopefully that changes after seeing the garbage the senior players are serving up. I predicted 4th to 10th so I'm not gonna go in on the guy for looking like a team that will finish 4th to 10th haha.

Quality finish that. Less said about Fatawus the better
-
Fatawu and Daka spring to mind first half. Danny Ward would have saved them both mind
