I'll be honest, alarm bells were ringing for me in the Wednesday game. When we went 2-1 up against an absolutely knackered, 10 man, half academy half reserves Wednesday side. He was very clearly asking the team to sit in and defend the lead rather than going for the kill. I'm not even exaggerating when I say we could probably have scored another 1 or 2 goals in that 8 minutes, they were dead on their feet. I chalked it up to him wanting to try and secure a win in his first game, but I've seen nothing of the attacking and killer instinct he said he would bring. Last night, sitting in for basically 45 mins and then sitting even deeper for the last 5. Allowing 10 man Boro to pepper crosses into our box has convinced me that he's another one that says what you want to hear but doesn't act on it accordingly. I empathise with him having a grossly under-skilled, overpaid and apathetic squad. But he's not helping himself.

I thought he was gash last night and that was with the support of 9 other players in our 3rd with him. I've not seen much of him though, so if that was an improved performance, by gaaawd.

Nelson looked solid, looking forward to seeing him in a team that's actually going to require the defenders to defend man on man, I think we'll see his quality become even more apparent then.
