I’ve said it for a few seasons now. We don’t know how to not lose games, draws are vital in any league but we seem to only have a win or bust mentality. Lost the most amount of games of the top 4 now. I guarantee Ipswich’s 9 draws to our 4 will be the difference in a months time.

Braybrooke and Alves both in first team training, nice to see, bench time for Sammy over the next 4 days I think for sure. Especially if Wilf is missing tomorrow

What's your thoughts on the goalkeeper situation in general though? 4 goalkeepers in that squad, all 4 are 3rd (third!!) choice for their clubs, Davies and King probably don't even remember the last time they were in goal Surely there's someone in the Championship/League 1 that they can convince? (with a Welsh grannie of course...)

None of their goalkeepers can get into their club sides... I think I said in a thread a while back it's mad that they've not managed to make/find someone 'welsh' goalkeeper wise in so long! It's been either Hennesey or Ward for 10 years!

Imagine he will feature against Man City. Another one which has shown as sold out since it went on sale. I wonder if some of these games are kept for scouts only? Does often seem to be the ones against the big academies that “sell out”

What does well run mean though and what does it lead to overall? Arguably Middlesborough are the best run football club in the country, in terms of picking good coaches and giving them the longest possible chance to implement their ideas (they have deviated at times....). They've also got one of the longest standing owners and a steady stream of funds to spend. They've not had any financial difficulty and haven't dropped below the top two tiers in a long long time. But on the flipside they've done absolutely nothing of note for a decade or so. They're literally stuck in the Championship and spending a considerable amount of money every season to stay there. Without some of our 'mismanagement' we wouldn't have been able to experience some of the unbelievable highs we've had. Or in the same sense, the lows that bring us all together. I've been obsessed with this club since 1998, and the ups and downs during that time have been part of that obsession. Isn't that why we all love this sport, it's addictive, toxic for us at times, we rely on it etc etc. Don't think i'd feel the same at 'well run' Middlesborough during that time. If we're approaching the end of KP, then so be it, they've made plenty of mistakes but my god they've made some incredible calls and brought this club on exponentially. Be an absolute piece of piss for whoever buys it off them as long as they employ the right people... we've got everything any investor could ask for.

I doubt we will see him this season, it's a real shame and a missed opportunity for him and Sammy that they've both had injuries, could have been the perfect year for them. They're also likely hamstrung if we go up, Sammy perhaps stays but Alves needs a championship loan if we go up. The U21's play friday night, hoping it's the first time this season they both get to play!

I love what he's done for us this season, and credit to him for wanting to rebuild some sort of career here. But yesterday was horrific, back to a level he just cannot cope at. At fault for 2 goals, at fault for the sending off ultimately too. The mistakes were even more annoying as actually only 1 was down to being outpaced. Flying in for the tackle and getting done leaving Doyle as last man.... then the one where he comes flying for a header that was already being covered by other defenders and wasn't in a threatening area! Fine to have him around as a squad player and someone to come on to switch to a back 5 but my god.... we have to scrape every penny together if we go up to get a CB or two

I get good insight on this lot/follow them quite closely because of my mate being a fan. The new manager is about a game away from the sack, fans want him gone already. He’s incredibly boring, changed them from a good organised counter attack side into… well no one is quite sure, they started off playing tidy football but most fans saying he has no idea, no identity, tactics are a bag of revels as are team selections! Naturally they’re due a good game…

If he’s gone off at half time it’s not beyond the realms he’s on the bench Sunday. Lad who started for Villa tonight played second half for them in the conference league last night
