  1. We were pretty awful 1st half. 2nd half I was impressed though, until we went down to 10 then we were waiting for the inevitable. I questioned our fight and desire yesterday when I saw what Cov did, I need to eat abit of humble pie, we shown abit today and fair play. I'm not glad we lost, far from it, but i'm abit relived, we'd have not beat Cov in the next round (Should we have drawn them), we just wouldn't, not got it in us and I couldn't handle that, which is a disgusting thing to say. Also, we can now go away, rest up and come back fully focused on finishing the job in the league. No excuses from here on in.

  3. **** me, did Fatawu actually run at a defender then?!!
  4. And that is why you don’t pass needlessly backwards.
  5. Well I must say it does contradict people who champion this style for the way it preserves energy and tires the opposition out. Can’t have it both ways can they.
  6. This can been seen as a positive and a negative though. It's a case that can been made for and against us A few weeks ago when our dodgy spell started we were ticking games off, the games can't be ticked off quick enough, we're searching for the finish line. PTSD, Anxiety and what we've seen certainly in recent seasons has scarred mentality us as fans. As I said yesterday, we've had dodgy games going into every international break this season (I think?), this recent run has been a more sustained dodgy spell, but we've always came back after those international breaks stronger, I just hope that trend continues.
  7. It's all to do with regularity of games isn't it? I mean trying to think back of the top of my head a few years back we out of the 3 choices (Forest, Derby, Cov) we probably played Derby the most? I seem to remember years of not playing Forest, then all of a sudden Forest had a rise, we played them more, Derby have been in demise and we've not played them for years, equally it wasn't all that long I was calling Coventry 'irrelevant' because they were (to us), now their rise and our demise has seen us playing them with more regularity (for me) it seems we've got a real rivalry back with them, so much so i'm shitting myself and running scared about the potential prospect of playing them at Wembley, which is a reality check and a sad indictment of how far we've fallen.
  8. This is another thing I don't understand though, since his little outburst, doubling down on his way, wouldn't you think he do his damnedest to get even more a tune, be even more impressive, get us over the line in style, really ram in down the dissenting voices throats? Of course it's not as simple as that but since the little outburst more questions have been asked than answered. Hopefully the answers come after the international break.
  9. "This games turning into abit of a basketball game" - Said as if it's a bad thing. Why? That's exactly what you want! Especially as a neutral. Far too much talk and emphasis on "control".
  10. But why? You've said it far more eloquently and simplified than I ever have but i've been trying to say that, for years, ending up typing long posts, going off on one and tying myself in knots. I made the point earlier, 7 years ago, something changed, a decision within the club to go in a different direction? (I'm musing) but 3 different managers, numerous different players and as you say it's been the same for years. Somewhat slightly better this season but albeit a level lower against different opposition and we are where we are. I may have answered my own question, I may have not, but i'm puzzled.
  11. I'm not sure anyone was expecting Ipswich to lose or has been moaning about Ipswich winning, infact i've seen a few posts crediting them and saying fair play. What I have seen people posting (myself included) is more "look at them", why are they making a fist off and we're not, e.t.c. I've said a couple of times after both Leeds and Ipswich slipping up people are too concerned about what they're doing rather than what we're actually doing, it matters not what they do if we don't follow it up, capitalise and do the job ourselves....of which we've not of late.
  12. I mean there's being pessimistic and there's discussing what we're seeing, the alternative is burying your head in the sand and masking it with 'optimism'.
  13. League. Premier League.
  14. People complain how 'lucky' they are scoring scruffy, scrappy, deflected goals. That's because they shoot, with conviction! Meanwhile we're constantly trying to score the perfect goal.
  15. Just looked back through the fixtures because I was thinking; When was the last time we won easily and comfortably? Wasn't that long ago actually, just over a month, 3rd Feb, Stoke 5-0. But considering people were and are waxing lyrical about us, we've clearly had consistent runs of winning but I don't think we've had any runs of winning comfortable and easy like the teams we're battling against are. Infact there is only that Stoke game I can think where we've put a team to the sword this season. (Wasn't that the game where words were said and toys were thrown the week before and we played abit more expansive and direct?)
  16. Obviously we have to do our bit first (Something that we've struggled with in recent weeks) but i'm really fearing if we get through and have to face Coventry. That unfortunately tells us alot about where we are. I'm sure I'm not the only one running scared of that scenario.
  17. Trafford gets dropped in goal for Burnley. Kompany's reasoning "trying to do what's best for the team". How about changing tact? Not constantly putting your defence under pressure purely because you're too stubborn to change your philosophy? How about looking at your group of players and playing in a way of utilising them and getting the best out of them?
  18. I hate to bang on about a style, a certain style but it all coincided with a change in style imo, 7 years ago, yes we've had successes in that time but it's also been a downward spiral and trajectory, certainly regarding mentality, passiveness and desire.
  19. Would we pull that off and play with that desire? I really struggle to see it, that's no criticism of our management, I just don't see it in us as a club.
  20. Wolves are either brilliant to watch or terrible. Today they're terrible.
  21. Three in 45 minutes.
  22. Does anyone know when Coventry last won the FA Cup? They've only mentioned it twice in half hour and whenever Coventry are mentioned in general. Spose' when it's the only thing of note you've won in your history its all they can mention.
  23. Hmmm that's ironic and embarrassing** It was supposed to go on to say "I bet they'd say the opposite". **Blame it on the Guinness
  24. I think common sense goes further than intelligence. Alot of people don't have common sense. I know plenty of people more intelligent than me, but they don't have common sense.*
  25. No hindsight about it. My opinion at the time was the quicker the “greedy six” fuck off the better and that opinion very firmly remains.
