Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Matt replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’m hearing 2 points and 2 transfers window embargo. Not from any trusted source, just from what an Everton fan has told me. I’m not sure that’s right as I don’t believe transfer embargo’s are sanctions that the Premier League hand out? -

Apparently its to help the fans, same with Chelsea travelling to Sheffield for a 5.30KO not even on TV. I know strikes are common nowadays but I struggle to see 5.30pm and 6pm on a Sunday are suitable times. That's a first thinking of and taking match going fans into consideration...

All Rangers aren’t we.

@LC99FC 14:55 on the video, reminded me of Watford away in 2015/16 when Mahrez scored.
-
Quality to one side it pisses all over the Premier League. Always said it, always caveated it by saying I wouldn't want to be in the league though - because of the craziness nature, it's a tough and brutal league. But it's a far more exciting and entertaining league than the Premier League, especially for the neutral.

Not been Doyle's biggest fan over the season but the last two games he's impressed me, done well, made a difference.
-
Whatever peoples opinions are on his style of football, his attitude or comments he makes, isn't it lovely to see a manager who wants to celebrate and go mad on the touchline when we score.
-
We couldn't go any slower! We'd be going backwards....Infact, we did.
-
I've not been keen on Doyle over the season but the last 2 games he's come in and i've been impressed, he's made a difference - I know he wasn't on the pitch when we scored the winner today. But that probably says alot between the differences of how I and Maresca see the game. Doyle doesn't even do that that often but he will do it, perfect. Time and place for both, neither should be played intrinsically though.

I took someone to their first football game today, they knew the rules and principles translatable via other sports due to coaching in the past. They got frustrated with some of the ideologies behind how we played, I had to explain it wasn't something exclusive to us, it's very much a issue within the sport and it's very much seen as "the way to play football". They understood the ideas and principles around drawing the opposition out with the keeper but everything else, mistakes made by doing so (mistakes happen, but putting yourself in positions to increase the chances of those mistake, why they kept asking), slow build up, etc, were described as "pure stupidity". Great win nonetheless.
-
Thought we started really well and right up until we scored, then felt we played within ourselves. Was fuming with the goal we conceded! Pure idiocy - By instruction and player decision. And some people believe "it's the way to play". Absolute nonsense! As the game went on I kept ruing the goal we conceded and thought here we go again, results going for us, but we're not gonna do the job for ourselves, second half we did play well and did deserve to win but it just wasn't going in for us. Eventually it did! And what a win! A great day. I hope and feel this is a turning point, a pivotal day, however i'm sure Ipswich and Leeds felt that on Good Friday.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'

This. I've got a few angles on the whole charade. Firstly I was quite proud of our model of high sales, fairly modest purchases, from that aspect I don't see how that can be criticised or how we've failed in that regard - however I think we probably would have failed by the letter of the law. We were acting like paupers meanwhile others are spending with gay abandon. It turns out we've been overspending on wages. Ridiculously and disgustingly, for that I have no defence, throw the book at us. But then on the other hand all the big clubs keep getting away with it and now it is being muted the authorities are going to change the rules to suit the top clubs, once again Therefore I don't see how you can punish Everton, Forest and ourselves then say "Hang on, something got to change", yes we've broke the rules under these rules, but so have a high percentage of clubs in the Premier League. The authorities didn't care until the threat of an independent regulator, the authorities are now making a mockery of themselves, yet if they'd got a handle of this earlier, had some proper governance before now they'd not be in this position where it's an embarrassment from their selves, clubs and the game in general. I think that speaks volumes that an independent regulator is needed more than ever. I'm all for being punished if we've done wrong, of which we have, it's indefensible but let's have it across the board and not make it up as we go along. It's a mess and I really want the game at the top level to go bang. -
Sorry, Radio Leicester. I believe they have offered the club to speak on a few occasions but either decline or ignored.
-
@Foxes_Trust what happens next? (That sounded quite abrupt, it wasn't meant to, it is sincere and genuine) Will you be meeting or planning to meet with the club in the coming weeks? I don't know the type of relationship or dialogue you have with the club but surely this needs following up and questions need answering. Again, i'm not quite sure how these things work but perhaps off members of the board/the club a platform of sort to speak. I know RL have offered platforms before and they were either rejected or ignored.

Hopefully no nomination humbles one or two.

Not that there is much to be said or that can be done but will we be hearing a statement from @Foxes_Trust (And maybe @Union FS)? Fan groups as general.

Rudders & Whelan to review this season’s failings next week
Matt replied to JimmyC74's topic in Leicester City Forum
"Unplanned", "Costly charge" of sacking Brendan Rodgers. "Consequences" of relegation. It could have been oh so different. How did that review go guys? -

Should There Be Play-offs in the Football League?
Matt replied to StanSP's topic in Leicester City Forum
Without a doubt yes! As someone who constantly repeats how bored of football and the modern game, they are something I really look forward to, so exciting and one of my favourite times of the year as a football fan. I know it was a League 1 playoff but that Peterborough v Sheff Wed play off last season. Wow! I was going to make a post in the Championship thread about quality to one side how the Championship pisses all over the Premier League for entertainment and excitement earlier actually! I've always said it as a neutral, even when we were being somewhat successful in the Premier League That doesn't mean I want to be in the Championship because it's a damn hard league to be in, it's not 'the place' to be and as we're seeing financially you need to be in the Premier League although I think we'd be in a mess even had we survived last season. Anyway, back to the playoffs, I usually hate Americanized things of which you'd normally say a playoff is, however they do it to win a league teams have already won (They do it in Rugby too, enough said), with no promotion or relegation. They are the best way to go up but the worst way not to go up. -
It's in our hands. That's the worrying and painful part that hurts. I don't see us winning every game, so we're gonna be reliant on what Ipswich and Leeds do. We can't afford to be reliant on Ipswich or Leeds being "due" a loss.
-
But given the situation would we shoot or would we pass. Would we even find ourselves in that position, attacking, with that many players forward in the first place? Hypotheticals but there's a debate to be had.
-
Does that not equally give the opposition time to score too then? I seem to remember first game the season v Cov, the added time was something like 10, 12, 15? minutes, the sighs, moans and groans, confusion, anxiety was palpable. Added time for our matches; Coventry - 11 minutes. Huddersfield - 6. Cardiff - 8. Rotherham - 9. Hull - 4. Southampton - 8. Norwich - 9. Bristol City - 5. Blackburn - 9. Preston - 5. Stoke - 5. Swansea - 10. Sunderland - 6. QPR - 8. Leeds - 8. Middlesbrough - 5. Watford - 8. Sheff Wednesday - 7. West Brom - 7. Plymouth - 6. Millwall - 7. Birmingham - 6. Rotherham - 5. Ipswich - 6. Cardiff - 7. Huddersfield - 6. Coventry - 5. Ipswich - 5. Swansea - 7. Stoke - 9. Watford - 7. Sheff Wednesday - 4. Middlesbrough - 5. Leeds - 7. QPR - 6. Sunderland - 5. Hull - 10. Bristol City - 6. Norwich - 6. Fair amount of +7 to +10's there for ourselves (19 matches with 7 minutes or more added for the record), however in of the games with more added minutes we've conceded more crucial goals rather than scored. 7 x 7 minutes added. 5 x 8 minutes added. 4 x 9 minutes added. 2 x 10 minutes added. 1 x 11 minutes added. Goals scored in added time: Cardiff +2 Watford +5 West Brom +4 Stoke +8 Norwich +3 Goals conceded in added time: Sheff Wednesday +3 Millwall +3 Ipswich +3 Coventry +4 Swansea +5 Leeds +4

But as I was saying Friday(?) they shoot, if it takes a deflection and goes in so be it, meanwhile we are constantly trying to score the perfect goal. You're not going to get deflected goal if you don't shoot in the first place, you have to make your own luck. Equally, similar goes for late goals, Ipswich and Leeds throw everything at it, flood players forward, making attacking changes! Us? Nah, we're to focused on emphasising 'control' and playing 'pretty', 1-0 down on Friday, 90th minute and were still passing on the edge of our own box, you're not getting any luck playing like that. Perhaps Ipswich and Leeds are a little too gung-ho, there's a balance to be had either way but the comparisons are one extreme to the other and I personally would side with their mentality's than ours.
-
Meanwhile our ideology is or certainly was pass it around alot tire the opposition. The word used was our way is "sustainable", your was supposedly wasn't, they said (and still are) you couldn't keep it up, yet we're the ones who have look jaded. Your way appears to have been very sustainable, far more entertaining and exciting with it. I also feel your way would be more suited and successful in the Premier League if either or both go up - I know it's not a huge points difference but look at Luton (Perceived to be doing well and they are) and Burnley (Perceived to be struggling and master of their own downfall due to style of play and awful to watch), I see alot of Luton in you.
