  1. I never saw him play but I do remember my dad telling me about Howard 'Puffer' Riley. Great player and fan favourite by all accounts.
  2. Worst thing about this fixture is that we'll no doubt get a handful of visitors from the shitty end of the M69 again.
  3. I find it remarkably easy.
  4. I hope we just pick a team to win. We're so skint, a cup run woukd be quite handy.
  5. To be fair I would like most of those more if they had never played for us.
  6. No takers then I see. I wonder if we could offer him in a raffle?
  7. Playing Devil's advocate you could argue that they did, gaining promotion straight away, however having had to sell the likes of Maddison, Barnes, KDH etc because of Rodgers' relegation we were in a much weaker position. Anyway, mistakes continued to happen from then on and continue to this day - Skipp, Ayew, Edouard, Okoli, Cooper, RVN, Carranza - so I suppose it is moot, but the point I am making is that relegation left us in a position whereby just 'sorting it out' was not really an option. It screwed us and that is, for the greater part imo, on Rodgers.
  8. Because we need three goalkeepers. Obvs.
  9. What if the alternative is luke Thomas?
  10. Alves & Braybrooke have not been cast aside they are both recovering from long term injury which has stifled their development. I agree on Nelson. Bizarre that he spent so long being overlooked. Yes, if we had a chance to sell Thomas we should have but we were talking about whether the club gives academy youth chances or not, not whether they are any good. Barnes and Chilwell. Yes, we are run appallingly, but it's arguable if the likes of Page, Evans and Monga are ready yet. Same for Aluko and S. Thomas. Under normal circumstances you might expect them to go out on loan and work their way up to this level, its only because we have a team of 'shitheads'. as you put it that there is a clamour for their inclusion. I do think that it's possible to harm development by bypassing those stages. I also think and hope that they are the future. They are really the only reason for any spark of optimism that I can see, however, your original premise (rant) that I was disagreeing with was that youth doesn't get a chance at Leicester. That's just not true. They are just not getting their chance as quickly as you would like but that might be for the best. IIn the last decade I give you: Stolarcyk, Chilwell, L.Thomas, Nelson, Choudhury, Barnes, S.Thomas, KDH, MacAteer and coming through Page and Monga. I've probably forgotten one or two. Alves, Evans and Braybrooke to come.
  11. KDH is absolutely not the exception to the rule. Didn't we have seven players on the pitch that had come through the academy against Derby. There are lots of reasons to rant at this club but this idea that keeps being pedalled that we don't give chances to youth is demonstrably not true.
  12. Would have hoped he'd get a loan at a higher level.
  13. This thread reminds me of when Mahrez left and he kept cropping up months, even years later. People couldn't let go. Chelsea manager leaves post. So what?
  14. The hate is not for him, it is for the people that bought him here. Whilst the transfer in of itself is not damaging financially it has been disastrous for our season as we were desperate for a striker and the goons at the club conspired to bring in one even worse than the clowns that we already have. More should have been made of it at the time. The club seems to have largely got away with leaving us without a functioning striker. I was certainly shouted down for having the temerity to question it.
  15. It wouldn't be the first time I've been called that, but never in three languages at the same time. Honoured.
  16. Is it Faes?
  17. Surely not. I can't believe that. That would make you a greedy mercenary with no self respect or professional pride, content to sacrifice your career in order to pick up inflated, unearned pay cheques.
  18. Thank you you're too kind, but yes, stick to any one of those languages as I don't think English is for you.
  19. Nigel won League One and Championship titles. You get trophies for that.
  20. I would think that if someone were to deride others for not being able to speak multiple languages, that they would be able to show some evidence that they have a rudimentary grasp of at least one language themselves. Unitelligible nonsense.
  21. I was kinda being tongue in cheek. The point I was making really is that we don't only have the worst left back in the league, we also have the second worst too.
  22. That's unfair. Viktor Krustiansen is just as bad.
  23. At the start of the season I said that we would be challenging for our ninth title. Clearly I was wrong but I stand by the idea that this £150m squad should be more than enough at this level, very few have squads to match ours on paper. A functional striker might help but even so, this lot should be winning games. The fact that we are losing games and actually being outclassed on a regular basis is an absolute disgrace. We should be much, much better than this and the fact that we aren't shows the deep malaise hanging over the club and belies a squad of mercenaries, for a large part marking out time on their inflated contracts, devoid of any professional pride or backbone. I have been disappointed with Marti, but I don't think there is a mamager alive that could get a tune out of this rabble. They are already defeated.
  24. We would have to improve significantly to get to that level.
  25. And in terms of transfer fees.
