No. I'm not against playing a big lump centre back up front, given our other options, but not Vestergaard. Glacially slow and pathetic in the air given that he is half yeti.
-
Do you think that Cifuentes has got this squad playing to its maximum potential then? I would say nowhere near.
-
Cooper absolutely was backed. That was the problem. That transfer window that you are calling the worst in living memory has Cooper's paw prints all over it.
-
I agree but shouldn't that be a cow's arse that Norwich couldn't't hit with a banjo?
-
He's right.

Jakub, Ricardo, Faes, Vestergaard, Fatawu, Daka and Mavididi have all been part of a championship title winning team. Kristiansen, Okoli, Skipp, Ayew, Reid, Thomas, Hamza and Soumare were all signed to play in the Premier League or have extensive experience at that level. Our loan signings (discounting Carranza) have arguably been our best players. Throw in a smattering of promising academy graduates and why shouldn't we expect them to be playing like a top 6 championship side. We should be demanding it of them as a bare minimum.

That's not a case for defending Marti that's just a list of all the other things that are wrong.
-
Yes, but have they also recognised how bad we are at defending?
-
I suppose we should be grateful for all the 'non-stop attacking football'.
-
This thread is obviously supposed to be bit of fun, but it made me wonder, can anyone make a case for Marti? Is there anything positive we could credit him for? I can't think of anything off the top of my head.
-
I am assuming that because you argued against his inclusion that you are annoyed by it. Seems like you're annoyed by it. I'm also assuming that you'd love it if he fails.
-
I think it is desperation by fats because we have nothing going on offensively, rather than instruction by Marti.
-
Bitterness is not a good look.
-
Fatawu's cut inside and shoot routine is all we've got.
-
Don't worry, if those two fail we can always bring in Soumare and Daka
-
Marti has been criticised for repeatedly doing the same things. Now he is being criticised for changing things.

I suspect that Hamza is the best option (or least worst) because he is not in the team atm. Hamza, Soumare, Skipp, might aswell pick one out of a hat. Discussing which is best is like discussing whether a migraine is better than a route canal. -

What are the alternatives? Skipp or Hamza? You could equally apply that sentence to either of those. -

Imagine that! A forum where two members might have different opinions. Who ever would have thought it? -

I think in those two instances he was unlucky and when your luck is out, it's out. Firstly, I think the header was instinctive and he just didn't have time to check his position or whether it was already goal bound, he just reacted. The second was a one in a hundred save. Goal keeper just threw out a leg and unbelievably the ball hit his ankle from point blank range. I mean admittedly Mav has been crap all season but I think he was unlucky in those two moments. -

Oh I don't know, he battered the French fleet with only one arm. -
I think you're getting your brothels mixed up with your piss ups in breweries.

Guilty as charged. However, this squad should be challenging for promotion. I don't know how much the Blackburn team, that beat us so comfortably, cost, but I'm quite sure it would be nowhere near the £100m+ that we had on show. The problem is that the squad is unbalanced, especially with Ramsey out and tactically we are easy to play against. Morale and commitment is through the floor. We have players being paid millions that are going through the motions and marking time which is unforgivable. Add to that, the fact that the powers that be thought that we could get by this season without a proper striker and here we are. But man for man, there are very few clubs that can match our squad. This makes the fact that we are so woeful all the more infuriating.
