We've been playing the no striker method all season.
-
Isn't his lack of minutes damning in itself? I mean it's not by accident. He only needed to be better than Ayew or Daka to get the nod. As bars go, it couldn't really be any lower.
-
And yet it passed with barely a murmur at the time. I remember being widely derided for calling this out in the summer.
-
But it is damaging because it left us without any firepower whatsoever
-
An afterthought. Yet we knew for months and months in advance that without vardy we had no striker worthy of the name. To send us into a season without a functioning striker was a new low for Rudkin.
-
Embarrassment
-
One Could argue that the team has deserted us. This is a team that largely seems to be going through the motions or players waiting out contracts. I can't remember the last time that I felt that the fans and the team/club were in this together.
-
I think that people that are talking about the Pleat years are failing to think in terms of context. We became a little bit worse than what had been before and nearly got relegated. This era has seen a Champion's League chasing, FA Cup winning club being turned into a Championship laughing stock in the blink of an eye by players signed for multiple millions on huge contracts. An act of self-harm so avoidable that one might suspect industrial sabotage. It is a fall so dramatic that it is unprecedented.
-
Yes, this is easily the worst we've been because of how far we have fallen. To have a £150m squad that is being schooled in The Championship each week, is new territory.
-
Could it be that the crapness that infects this team is contagious? Nelson and Jakub showing symptoms. I bet if you parachuted Yamal into this team he'd play like Jamie Lawrence.
-
Which players would you take back to the Premier League?

This is a joke question, surely? -
Happy Christmas! I've been walking the Leicestershire Round specifically to avoid it. It has been great!

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

From Goat to donkey. -
Didn't know that. Moira Lambert apparently. Well, you learn something every day! I wish people would stop crashing the St. Etienne thread with their football nonsense.
-
He hasn't got much of a plan A to be fair.
-
in the olden days we used to have Rachel Riley. We have plummeted so far
-
Well yes, so a poor player signed for a low amount is not as bad a buy as a poor player signed for a large amount. Stands to reason. Context is also important. Silva for instance was a dreadful signing, but we got away with it to an extent. Ward was also a dreadful signing but his calamitous displays caused us deep and lasting damage, hence, he was a worse signing than Silva despite having been signed for a lower fee.
-
The price tag has to have a bearing on whether a signing has been a good buy or not, regardless of the fact that the player didn't set the price.
-
Fair enough. For me, both of those were signed to play in The Premier League and both. were found wanting. In fact, both have been found wanting at Championship level and for that reason they can't be anything other than bad buys imo and belong on the duds list.

Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, Souttar, Okoli, Ayew, Coady....
-
When Daka scored his solitary goal of this season, that ended a run of (I think) 51 games without scoring. I know they weren't all full 90s but it was a record a fullback would wince at. Lets not pretend we didn't know that Daka was not a viable option for this season, hence starting the season behind Ayew who isn't even a proper striker.
-
We went into the window knowing that we didn't have a striker fit for purpose. The levels of incompetence required to address that by managing to find a striker even worse than what we had just beggars belief. Who sends a team into a season without a striker. Absolute clowns!
-
Well it was obvious to me and obvious to you but not so obvious to those absolutely buzzing on here and giving that window 8 out of tens. Apparently, you can't use a players career to date as any kind of guide to how he might be expected to perform until he has 'kicked a ball for us' as there is every chance that he might metamorphose from being the most mediocre of journeyman into Marco Van Basten, just by pulling on a blue shirt.

Don't forget teeth. He had funny teeth too. The ex-forest tw@

Have you forgotten that we are playing in a different league to the one that they were signed to play in and that they contributed next to nothing in that league? Or, are you saying that Cooper took Enzo's newly promoted team, accepted relegation from day one and signed players he hoped might 'contribute' the following season in The Championship? He spent :£65m in that window!
