Att 45:646 I remember going to Brum in the 60s and spent most of the match halfway up a floodlight stanchion, it was baking hot and someone was passing round a bottle of 'drink' below me and it turned out to be piss. Now that's what you call football spectating.
  2. It was so bad I had to stop watching after we gifted them the 2nd goal.
  3. Likewise obstruction, nearly every incident of shepherding the ball out for a goal kick involves obstruction as the player is not within reach of or in control of the ball.
  4. Just watching the women playing and the stadium is for king power where’s the Leicester City FC.
  5. I'm sure you're right but it looks so stupid when it's and individual contestant.
  6. Per the Ghana FA, Leicester City attacking pair Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu both sustained an injury for the nation. Striker Ayew’s looks to be more serious though, with him having to undergo an MRI scan on the injury, which revealed ‘significant issues with his knee’. The two Ghanaians are now set to return to Leicestershire to undergo their rehabilitation from the untimely injury.
  7. Why do quiz contestants clap themselves when they get the correct answers?
  8. I've no doubt you could fill it if you were starting from scratch but those 7K would have mostly have to come from existing ST holders plus a few from members

A diversion warning is now in place to motorists intending to use Granby Street. Leicester City Council has been carrying out a series of works in the road to widen pavements and create more space for pedestrians. Now, the next phase of that is set to begin on Sunday (November 17). The project will see the street shut between its junctions with Dover Street and Belvoir/Rutland Street to allow it to be resurfaced. Diversions for drivers will be signposted throughout the works. The roadworks, which are expected to be in place for up to a week, are part of ongoing investment in Granby Street which also includes the restoration of the Grand Hotel and its shopfronts. The former pay and display parking bays in the street – which have been out of use for three years – have also been converted into footpaths with additional space for street cafés. Additional on-street parking bays have been created on nearby Chatham Street, York Street and Calais Street to replace those lost on Granby Street, the council said. A final phase of work – currently planned for early next year – will permanently close the junction of Dover Street and Granby Street to traffic, which the local authority said would “help further improve pedestrian safety”. A new turning facility on Dover Street will be created to ensure that vehicles can continue to access nearby businesses and attractions, including The Little Theatre. Geoff Whittle, assistant city mayor for environment and transport, said: “Granby Street is an important gateway into the city centre and a busy shopping street. These ongoing improvements will help create a more attractive route for walkers, wheelers and cyclists with more space for shoppers and café-style seating. Alongside the major heritage led investment in restoring landmark buildings, this work will help make Granby Street feel safer and more welcoming to all.”

  14. Abbey Road Tribute · Follow 2d · Best Beatle Productions By George Martin Today is ‘Yesterday.’ The track was recorded on June 14, 1965, immediately following the taping of "I'm Down" and four days before Paul’s 23rd birthday. There are conflicting accounts of how the song was recorded. Some sources state that Paul and the other Beatles tried a variety of instruments, including drums and an organ, and that George Martin persuaded them to allow Paul to play his Epiphone Texan steel-string acoustic guitar, later overdubbing a string quartet for backup. Regardless, none of the other band members were included in the final recording. “Paul played his guitar and sang it live, a mic on the guitar and mic on the voice,” Martin said in 2006. “But, of course, the voice comes on to the guitar mic and the guitar comes on to the voice mic. So there's leakage there. Then I said I'd do a string quartet. The musicians objected to playing with headphones, so I gave them Paul's voice and guitar on two speakers either side of their microphones. So there's leakage of Paul's guitar and voice on the string tracks.” The Beatles had already experimented with dropping the electric guitars and going acoustic on ‘You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away’, but this song went further. It was clear to George Martin from the start that Yesterday wouldn’t need the other three Beatles on backing. Martin scored a simple but beautiful string quartet accompaniment to complete his vision for the song. Thanks to Boris for this image.
  15. Doesn't the Family stand have access to the shop at H/T if so they'll never move it.
  16. Leicester Memories Peter Taylor · 49m · Evans Weir on the Grand Union Canal Leicester . Very popular at one time for fishing off. This was taken in 1958, but I'm sure a lot of you have memories of the factories and Piggotts around this area too?
  17. A bit more history 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 · Follow The Solvay Conference of 1927, held in Brussels, Belgium, is one of the most iconic gatherings in the history of science. This conference brought together 29 of the world’s brightest minds in physics and chemistry, many of whom would go on to reshape our understanding of the universe. What made this event so remarkable was not just the intellectual prowess of its attendees, but the fact that 17 of them would later win Nobel Prizes, a testament to the groundbreaking work that emerged from their discussions. At the heart of the 1927 Solvay Conference was the ongoing development of quantum mechanics, a field that was beginning to challenge traditional views of physics. The conference served as a forum for the most influential scientists of the era, including Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, and Marie Curie. These pioneers were at the forefront of the scientific revolution that would lead to the discovery of the principles of quantum theory, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, and the development of modern atomic models. The discussions at the Solvay Conference were intense, particularly the debates between Albert Einstein and Niels Bohr. Einstein, known for his theories of relativity, famously disagreed with Bohr’s interpretation of quantum mechanics, particularly the idea of indeterminacy, famously stating, "God does not play dice with the universe." These heated exchanges between Einstein and Bohr are now legendary and are often cited as a pivotal moment in the history of physics. The Solvay Conference of 1927 is often remembered as a defining moment in the history of science, where the groundwork for much of the 20th century's most important discoveries was laid. The conference not only marked a high point in the development of quantum mechanics but also symbolized the collaboration of great minds in the pursuit of knowledge and understanding. #SolvayConference #QuantumMechanics #Einstein #Bohr #NobelPrizeWinners #PhysicsHistory #ScientificRevolution #1927 #ScientificDebates #HistoryOfScience
  18. I think it was simply the South Stand and people were encouraged to move to the same stand they had at Filbert St.
  19. Bearing in mind the KOP is the cheapest section fans in the there wanting to sit will be very unhappy anyway and even more so if the only option is a vacated L/P section with the increased cost of tickets. They'll need to do something financially to placate those fans
  20. Nice bit of obstruction on Watkins there. Seems to be no longer a foul.
  21. I was getting annoyed by all the yellows but they were mostly for delaying or arguing. If all refs did it the game would be better with less moaning and time wasting.
  22. Proper Football 1d · Fulham have released their ticket prices for Arsenal at home! Adult tickets in the main stand are £150! With Juniors at £70. The cheaper tickets in the Johnny Haynes stand are the far end blocks with poor views yet still asking £35 for an adult. Fulham like to portray themselves as a family club, i guess that only applies if they are a rich family! It's ok though because fans will save £2 for a restricted view seat. Another football club completely out of touch. Fulham FC Official #FulhamFC #Fulham #arsenal #EPL #PremierLeague #ticketprices #ripoff See less
