The problem with Daka and Ayew is it's basically just 2 different flavours of "How would you like our attacks to break down?" Ayew = either falling over, drawing a foul, coming too deep (without pace to rejoin attack) or holding onto it for too long Daka = falling over or terrible first touch which kills the attack before it starts And we don't really have the creativity in the middle to be threading balls into Daka, nor the running/graft to bomb into the box and most teams in this league don't leave space at the back either.

Realistic Managerial Replacements

There's a parallel universe where Okoli doesn't have the biggest of brain farts in the first 5 mins vs Charlton and we maybe win that game and start our bounce... -
Yeah we basically need a little bounce from new manager/new signings and/or West Brom and Blackburn to keep being rubbish. I'm a Norwich fan for the next 2 games and West Brom have a tough 3 fixtures

We're not doomed to League One, but it's a distinct possibility Based on form to date, trending to finish 19th, and only 3pts above the drop. So we're on thin ice and it's all so tight down there that any of the bottom 8 could go down. The worst thing is, the results that could effectively relegate us have already happened - 1 point out of 12 at Home vs Portsmouth, Blackburn, Oxford and Charlton. 5-6 wins out of remaining 16 will likely keep us up. And obviously Norwich (H), Wednesday (A), Portsmouth (A) and Blackburn (A) (final day) could be crucial.

Yes. This -6 is for the period ending with the promotion season. So we could have breached last season. Plus Championship lower income and smaller allowable losses starts biting... But we've had a lot of sales and got a lot off the wage bill, so...

Man City case is nothing like ours. The minus 20 thing is incorrect. There's no mention of it in the official commission documents. Percy got that wrong.

Not sure where Percy's gotten -20 from The PL's starting point "was a 12-point deduction" Alternatively they proposed a £20m to £38.7m fine:

we are bang in trouble now, relegation wise: Over the last 21 seasons, teams finishing 21st: Low 41pts, Average 48.2pts, High 55pts We're currently trending for 52 points (including deduction) West Brom currently trending for 21st with 49 points So 48-52 points likely required for this season to stay up Problem being we've already gotten 1/6 vs Oxford, 0/3 vs Blackburn Blackburn A on the final day Portsmouth 2 games in hand, Charlton 1 game in hand

Again, the PL/EFL have no real say in the timing of the final outcome. It's sitting with the independent commission who are deliberating on and deciding the final outcome. -
It's not Friday yet I'm afraid

That is an absolute belter!

Another way of looking at it is: P12 W4 D3 L5 15/36 points

Yep, our record is patchy at best vs the teams currently below us. Sheffield Utd 0/6 Charlton 3/6 Porstmouth 1/3 Norwich 3/3 West Brom 4/6 Blackburn Rovers 0/3 Oxford United 1/6 Sheffield Weds 3/3 Norwich H, Sheffield Weds A, Portsmouth A, Blackburn A all crucial...

We should be very worried about any team below us changing manager/improving - We've already lost at home to Blackburn...

Out of interest - since the start of the 2022/23 season, in the league: 28 clean sheets out of 152 games Or, 18% or conceding at least one goal in 82% of all league games. Away from home we've only had 11 clean sheets in all that time...(5 clean sheets away from home in 3 PL seasons). And by season, streaks without a clean sheet: 22/23: 21 games 23/24: 8 games 24/25: 27 games 25/26: 24 games (currently ongoing)

Let's wait and see. Some saying loan, others saying permanent. -

Can we determine that when we don't know the wage or contract length? -

The PL/EFL have no say in the timing of this. They make the charge, everyone deliberates and appeals, then the independent commission decide on the final outcome. The delay is the time it is taking for the independent commission to conclude their work and outcome. It's not a choice by the league authorities. -

The most likely way of getting rid of them, is promotion to the PL and stabilising as a mid-table side again - get some value back into the asset to make it worth Top selling. -

Going down to League One this time will be nothing like last time. Last time you had Mandaric as owner and Pearson, Walsh and Shakey as manager/coaches. The idea that relegation to League One will make King Power, Top and Rudkin suddenly change their ways or become football strategy savants needs to get in the bin. They've managed one of the biggest and sharpest declines from the greatest position of strength the club has ever had - why would less money and tighter spending regulations suddenly make us better run as a club? -

It gets worse than the last few years if we get relegated, so...
