  1. Yeah it was Arsenal not Spurs - winter 2019, after Emery left and we were doing well - including 8 wins (I think?) on the bounce and the 9-0 vs Southampton
  2. Sure, but he played ahead of Thomas, so he didn’t get treated too badly did he?
  3. When was this?
  4. Vardy is currently on 141. His premier league debut was at age 27. Even if he'd started at 23 years old, he'd have had to have scored 30 goals in each of those extra seasons, to overtake Shearer...
  5. The PL has voted to bring it in this season, but it's delayed because (for some unknown reason) the tech isn't ready
  6. You about held him hostage!
  7. Inconsequential but the ref didn't give us about 3-4 freekicks that looked stonewall fouls - two handed pushes in the back, Antonio pulling someone over etc etc
  8. It doesn’t really matter how good Maresca is or not. It’s not like we sacked him; he was poached. FWIW I think he’s a top manager and we’d be looking a lot better had he stayed, but it’s a moot point
  9. Well, Puel, Rodgers and Maresca suggests a pattern...
  10. Talk of a potential ban? Said something about Coote to the Ref on Saturday?
  11. Except, is the DOF the chief negotiator when making signings? Can't imagine NP has any experience of this, nor would he get on with other executives and agents.
  12. Missed this; what happened here? and is there a clip?
  13. Those things aren't mutually exclusive though? Ultimately, our longer term strategy has been a mess - in terms of board level decisions, spending, PSR, and recruitment - since we won the FA cup in 2021. Whilst that persist, any manager we have will struggle. But Cooper was also awful and very likely taking us down. So we change the manager to give us an improved chance to stay up. I think most sensible people here were always expecting this season to be a bottom 5 finish.
  14. 177% win rate - GET HIM IN!
  15. Don’t know about all of them, but note this ownership has always appointed people with previous experience of English football
  16. Are we talking about the Mavididi incident? Looks like a pen real time in the ground, but not a pen for me at all. Barely any contact, which is only instigated by Mavididi, Fofana doesn’t even make a challenge.
  17. Is Buononotte injured or suspended?
  18. So is that: Daka (still out?) Ricardo (4 months) Fatawu (out for season) Ayew (?) Reid (?) Vardy (?)
  19. Bentacur said his stuff whilst on TV in South America I thought?
  20. Sometimes the problem is between the chair and the screen...
  21. The club expecting no deduction vs convincing prospective managerial candidates that we wouldn't get one are 2 different things. The threat of the deduction + newly promoted + not much money to spend = an unattractive job, especially for the managers we were likely initially targeting
  22. I agree. But the board may also be trying to avoid a cycle of 'appoint a stopgap manager now to keeps us up, then sack him in the summer and get the next 'project' manager in' They may be trying to have their cake and eat it - just scrape 16th/17th with Cooper and then 'reset' in the summer with a longer term appointment. Depends on their targets I suppose, but they may feel that they can't make a longer term appointment mid-season (although we did that when appointing Rodgers...).
  23. Just to be clear, I totally agree with you - just explaining why I think it's unlikely the club will sack him under current status quo
  24. I think you answered your own question and agreed with my point.
