  1. 17 games remaining. Our form over previous 17 is W11 D3 L3 If we do W12 D2 L3 going forward we'll get 107 points and beat the record
  2. You were specifically talking about conceding late goals and dropping points. We've demonstrably not actually done that very often this season. Then you said: Stop moving the goal posts mate. It doesn't make for a particularly coherent argument.
  3. Why? Spell it out for me. Do you mean that 'style' or do you literally mean 'most of the time, our players should be avoid a sideways or backwards pass, as much as possible' Most of the passes here, in this excellent team goal, are sideways or backwards.
  4. This whole 'this won't work in the premier league' is such a weird stick to beat Maresca with. We don't know it won't work in the premier league. Heck, there's going to be a ton of player turnover again in the summer anyhow It's bringing an imagined future problem into the present - seeking negativity to almost deliberately disrupt your enjoyment of the here and now. Why not just enjoy this season on its own merits? Where does it end? If Maresca keeps us up next season, will a large contingent of the fanbase be saying 'yeah but you can't play this way and finish in the top half'
  5. I'm not saying having a different prefered style is immature. It is lacking in any kind of footballing intelligence or maturity to moan and groan if we pass it sideways or backwards. It's like people have never seen the sport before...
  6. It was huge swathes of the home support last night, nevermind half the crowd disappearing from 75mins onwards Last night was the worst home atmosphere I've experienced, in relation to the actual performance, result and overall position we find ourselves in. It is bizarre.
  7. Right, so it is about the piss-poor mentality of the watching crowd than what's actually happening on the pitch then.
  8. I think it's hugely immature from the thousands of Leicester 'supporters' to groan every time we have the audacity to pass it backwards or sideways or to 'only' be winning 1-0. It's like people haven't watched the Sport, let alone the 29 games this season...
  9. I'm not sure what people want. We dominated the game and possession. Swansea rarely looked a threat. We were in total control for large periods. Scored 2 minutes in. Nearly scored a few minutes later. Daka missed a sitter soon after. Mavididi hit the bar. KDH missed a sitter in the 2nd half. A few other chances. We could have scored 6 or 7. We still won 3-1 in the end. If people don't like it, I wonder what they don't like, the tactics or the not taking of chances? Because I'd have more respect for people who don't like it if they still wouldn't be a fan even if we had of scored 6 or 7, but it felt like most of the frustration was that fact that we were 'only' 1-0 up and this imagined fragility that we were going to somehow throw points away.
  10. I, for one, won't be happy unless Enzo successfully eradicates opportunities, set pieces and goals for the opposition. is that too much to ask!?
  11. But my point is that's literally only happened in 4 games and only once at home...
  12. I really don't understand why though. It doesn't stand up to reality. We've only dropped points from a 1-0 position 4 times all season - and only 1 of them have been at home. Even 10 of our 22 wins have been by a single goal margin, so this idea that we don't win tight games is just in people's heads.
  13. What is this cryptic message?
  14. Do you think if it was Man City vs Liverpool in the PL, 1st vs 2nd, with the game in the balance at 1-0, with 5 mins to go the stadium would be half empty? It's insane.
  15. Most of the people sat with me in H1 seem to think that you shouldn't ever, under any circumstances, play the ball backwards
  16. When? Last night we totally dominated the game. We dominated possession. We created a ton of chances. If the players finish those chances, we win 6-1 or 7-1.
  17. This fan base doesn't deserve Maresca at all. After the dross of Rodgers over the last 2 years and the disastrous way we went down last season, you'd think people would enjoy us winning most games, being 10 points clear at the top and playing a style of football that dominates large patches of most games. But it feels like 60-80% of the fans only like "GET IT FORWARD"
  18. I wouldn't say it was flawed per se, just that it depends what you're looking at / looking for. If you're looking for overall perspective and impact then whole season, if you're looking for patterns, then shorter periods of games. Either way, I literally said in the post And now, after last night, it's 6 late goals in the previous 14 fixtures.
  19. Yes totally agree - hence the whataboutism and comparing them to the Everton and Forest cases is Apples and Oranges
  20. But that wasn't your point. You said 'why have Everton and Forest been charged and gotten points deductions but Man City haven't' They haven't because its a demonstrably different and more complex case. Do I think it's a good thing Man City haven't been punished yet? No. But it's clearly not going to be a quick and simple thing.
  21. I'm no fan of the Big 6/7 but this 'whataboutism' with Chelsea and Man City is getting a bit tired. They're simply a different situation. Man City's 115 charges have nothing to do with the current PL PSR thing. Never mind the huge complexity of that case + the deliberate non-cooperation from Man City. Chelsea amortised - but not in a unique way - any other club could have done the same. The PL have since voted to cap it at 5 years max. And Chelsea have made a lot of 'profit' by selling academy products.
  22. Right so it's a one-off accounting loss, to make the amortisation more favourable going forward. And therefore making it easier to sell them not-at-a-loss in the future? So for example: you sign someone for £30m for 5 years, amortised at £6m per year. 3 years into that contract, their book value is £12m But the club 'decides' to value that play at, say £4m Meaning an impairment charge of £8m (which presumably has to go into the loss column?) So now the book value of the player is £4m instead, going down by £2m per year over the final 2 years of the contract Is that about right? I guess I'm not understanding what the benefit is? If the £8m impairment goes down as a loss, then you'd still have to sell the player at £12m+ to count it as a profit anyhow? Unless the only benefit of impairments is to take an accounting loss now, but at the benefit of reducing amortisation going forward?
  23. What exactly is the impairment though @coolhandfox? Is it a fee/payment you make? And if so, to who? In the Daka example: Summer 2023 value £13.8m. What is that £4.8m?
  24. Praet and Nacho are worth close to nothing, with both being out of contract in 5 months. Souttar needs to be sold for around that fee just to break even.
  25. Just scratching my head to think of some... James Maddison and Harvey Barnes maybe?
