Efl cup round 2 draw - weds 14 aug - 10pm
The Doctor replied to grobyfox1990's topic in Leicester City Forum
stadiums we're not likely to ever go to in the league. like they went out last night but I've been waiting over a decade for a trip to valley parade since moving Bradford way. Harrogate or Barrow, we're not likely to play in the league any time soon and I don't think we've ever faced them away either? would be a new away trip -
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy0r5nkyyyeo who fancies a great night out in New Zealand Aotearoa?

I know shirt numbers mean jack shit but the symbolism, the Welsh traffic cone should not have #1
-
if it was avoidance it would be fine (not derailing this thread with arguments about the morality of tax avoidance). it's the evaded that's the issue although thats probably just a translation issue given outside of tax they mean the same thing

fosse hubs source for this

Jon Ashworth might as well be, seen more of him since he lost his seat, getting mad at the voters for not voting for him, than at all in the shadow cabinet.
-
that he's 29, and last season was the first season he'd ever scored more than 15 while mostly pottering round league one and league two (his two other championship seasons had a combined 11 goals from 70) does point pretty massively towards a one season wonder and not worth it tbh
-
it goes off now no? this last cycle will be the last one with it in and now this season will be 22/23, 23/24 and 24/25 when evaluated next summer

that's the sort of line up that strikes fear... into your own fan base. id turn round and head home if he lines up like that -

Danny Ward level keeping on show there -
almost like I didn't say she wasn't involved in football, but that her remit isn't supposed to be football, it's the commercial side that's her wheelhouse, but because we don't have a director of football that can be trusted to handle all footballing affairs, she has to step in

glad we've at least learnt our lessons from Praet and aren't planning on letting a club take the piss on loans forever.

Concerns about the direction of the club
The Doctor replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
God imagine. peak of our joke era incoming -
still near enough managed it by spending an entire window trying to sign one CM and then pulling the plug when we had one out injured for months, one recalled and so only three fit CMs at the club in a 4-3-3, one of whom makes Darren Anderton look like the pinnacle of health though...

100% this. Rudkin should have sacked Rodgers after the 1 point from 8 games run at the start of 22/23, if not before (some of us were warning that summer that we'd go down if he wasn't sacked at the first sign of bad form), that he stayed loyal was an abdication of duty, that he's stayed since and had two more managers call his incompetence in negotiating transfers out is unacceptable and it's a complete dereliction of responsibilities from top, who won't do what's right for the club because it'd mean an awkward conversation with a family friend.

expecting a 6 or 7 goal defeat, Solanke to stick in a hat trick and things to get very toxic come full time -

much like your bank balance then -
yea, what we keep hearing is her remit isn't football but sometimes she has to get involved to stop things falling apart. pretty huge black mark against the director who's remit is football (a director of football, if you will)
-
generally she doesn't, unless she needs to step in to fix Rudkins incompetence, is the general word we keep getting. solution there is to sack Rudkin rather than relying on one director to step outside of her remit to fix another's incompetence but heyho

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

are we going seniors only or signings for the u23s too? if seniors then Vincente Iborra, if u23s George Hirst -
he's not at all the modern day Gary lineker, he was not even remotely close to costing us the title last season (as if the march-early April wobble was down to him rather than having one fit centre midfielder and a team effort???), indeed last season our attack never looked more cohesive than when he was playing. you can bang on about the eyetest all you like, it's a bollocks test, scouting is done on analytics and there's a reason those of us into analytics like him. when you sign a 22 year old for that much you are paying for potential, it is not 2004 anymore.

see, I thought talking about goal creating actions was addressing the all round ability nonsense, because ultimately his all round ability creates goals for himself and his teammates. to talk about him struggling in the prem conveniently omits that the first season was a 22 year old in a foreign country trying to dislodge a club legend, and the second was in an incredibly dysfunctional team lead by a manager trying to get sacked, and he didn't struggle in the championship, he had a good dec-feb period, then had a goal wrongly ruled out at Leeds and missed a sitter and proceeded to lose confidence as Enzo started chopping and changing every game as the team as a whole fell apart. He's a player who needs a supportive arm around the shoulder and a run of appearances. anyone claiming he's a bad player tbqh doesn't know what they're talking about
