  1. They're funded by the license fee, and you just need to look at the politics coverage of the BBC becoming pure hagiography to see it's an issue throughout the BBCs structure - they don't do the whole "speaking truth to power" part of journalism out of fear that they'll be cut off and unable to bring any sort of coverage. And given how thin skinned the nepo baby and his butler have been shown to be, it's a reasonable expectation that if they cover, all access will be cut off. The BBC as a whole has clearly decided that giving fawning, one-sided coverage is better value to the license fee payers than no coverage at all. Without a sea change throughout the BBC, RL won't buck the trend.
  2. thought I recognised that pose he was pulling.
  3. if we were a club that worked on underlying data we'd have parted ways with Rodgers in summer of 2022. There's been no lessons learned since. This jackass is here until the players go crying to Aiyawatt because he cancelled a golf session at seagrave. And I've so little care for this chancer that I'd even tolerate the player power and undermining for once
  4. release him already
  5. You telling me you've not been waiting to see Vestegaard get bullied by Kieffer ****ing Moore again?
  6. Ayew and Thomas... Well, see you all tuesday then.
  7. good manager masking a shitly run club was literally us two seasons ago....
  8. depends on the fitness of souttar? if he's a few weeks away on the expected timeline the window will be closed before we know for sure what he's looking like
  9. when you have a chunk of the season with only two non injured CMs (Praet being a crock, Casadaei going back), they're obviously going to eventually look leggy, really doesn't change the point that as a team we only ever looked like we'd done proper conditioning in 23/24
  10. loan with an option. So he'll stink the place out and be back here in 6 months then, ready for the next manager to "give everyone a fresh slate"
  11. it's hardly a purge. Plenty of people have been banned from general news in the past, myself included. usual case is someone expresses a controversial (if not uncommon) opinion, which caused a long back and forth argument. The mods understandably don't want to watch over a bunch of adults squabbling about politics, on a forum that's primarily about squabbling over who is shitter: Luke Thomas or Chris Makin, so it's easier just to restrict those opinions from being posted. it's not a free speech issue, if you really want to argue the toss over politics, twitter still exists, but a private platform is under no obligation to handle a bunch of adults getting heated about politics - hell, most fans forums I've seen just don't even have threads about it for that exact reason.
  12. much as it's hard to condition them during the season (like we were always playing catch up after that disastrous Sousa pre season), their attitudes at being expected to do physical conditioning work that he alluded to was abysmal. Wish he'd just gone full in on detonating the club and putting everything out in the open once it was clear he was done here. The way he was talking December vs what we did in January he was obviously mislead about budgets to recruit.
  13. Williams is basically all but done from what I've heard. Still feel we need a bit more quality in the centre of midfield mind. Much as Tierney has been fantastic for us, if we want to progress above perpetual relegation battles she can't be the first name on the teamsheet
  14. assuming Liverpool get through there's 5 same division ties, and of the ones that aren't Stoke v Fulham and Birmingham v Leeds feel like they should be. There's no derby matches in there, and the minnows still in have gotten the most nondescript prem teams possible. Even the ones where there are a couple of divisions difference: Arsenal and Man City are both at home. Get Stoke v Port Vale, and Fulham v Bristol City instead, get Arsenal and Man City away to the current opposition and give Mansfield and Macclesfield even Villa or Newcastle level opponents at home and it would be a good draw, but as is it's a bit bland - not one of those games do I look at and want to watch on tv
  15. Doubles up as the summer scouting job so Jon can get in an extra week in Bali. fantastic. really don't think there's a standout draw in that, just a dull draw all round
  16. get the transfer embargo in place if this is the pool we're fishing in
  17. genuinely don't get this line, first day back after two weeks off, the "oh god, another year of this" feeling, football in the evening would be very appealing
  18. That's Dr Spock. Also, not sure why mayling cut it back there, shooting was the better option when all the defenders were central.
  19. Tierney the new captain as expected, Neville and Mayling straight in, Jansson on the bench.
  20. intelligence is then recognising that actually a lot of penalties will be placed in the same area of the goal because it maximises your chance of scoring - keeper has to guess right and commit early to get to it. And then also applying the knowledge that keepers study penalty takers and tend to have cheat sheets on their water bottles now.
  21. been impressed with Page, very steady and calm on the ball.
  22. We can win with developing youth players. Like, Monga would have ripped this team apart. We'd learn far more about Evans in this game than we'd benefit from having that horlicks merchant fall over every 5 seconds.
  23. Luke Thomas getting told hes not as good as their thomas, and tbh, fair shout.
  24. "daka you're shit". Good of them to mic up the away end.
