Premier League 2025/26 Thread
The Doctor replied to OntarioFox's topic in General Football and Sport
Yea, fair. Skygo runs a bit behind and hadn't seen the reverse angle. The whole intentional stuff and whether you've got time to react (assuming because it's from such close range that VAR aren't considering that movement to be a deliberate reaction rather than normal arm movement?) is the big problem with the handball rule. Not sure how it ends with a bournemouth freekick either, surely it's a drop ball if the ref stopped play because of it? -

Not handball, he's got no control over that at all. Its a poor touch and bounces up but the arm is in a normal position. Commentators unsurprisingly biased. -
Choudhury (Wrexham interest, Football League World)

my sole concern is that this and JJ to Leeds leaves Ricky who isn't robust enough to play week in week out, and Woyo who is about as real as Sergio Hellings or Leon Crcic, as our right back options, unless this is a sign we're finally going to go into the market -
he was crap for all bar the final 20 when Daka was on and Sheff Weds were down to 10 last weekend, and crap last night. He's looked better than tweedledumb and Tweedledee in centre mid, that's it
-
i don't think it is, given it would have gotten us the win over Everton with just a handful of games left, who finished 2 points ahead of us. It was the key game in the run-in and we failed to win it because of his penalty. Failing to win that key game is ultimately what sent us down, rather than finishing 2 points clear of the drop
-
he probably is but frankly we cannot play with that oaf up top slowing everything down. If daka isn't favoured it has to be one of the wingers to give that speed and aggression in the press
-
stolarcyk jj - nelson - okoli - Thomas Winks - Bilal Fatawu - Page - Monga Mavididi bin off Ayew, Skipp and Soumare. Winks as a 6 sitting and distributing, BEK given reign to orchestrate from deep. Mav as a false 9.
-
Maddisons miss is why we went down in the end, without that we are unlikely to be in the state we are now. It was the most crucial penalty in our history. On a similar note, remember an absolute howler from Hume on a must win game v I think Sheffield Weds in the championship relegation season
-
Well, at least we don't have to see whatever Soumare would call a penalty.
-
Can't wait to get the board saying "we can't sign off on all these contract terminations"
-
Surely there must be a french club employing some guy called Johannes Rudkinne?
-
Get him gone like Kermorgant after that tbqh
-
Crap from Ayew, just useless.
-
I mean it wasn't was it. Some of the performances were fantastic. Sending Russell Martin crying into his spoons curry night twice, just demolishing Preston.
-
We're never selling Soumare are we, just no-one gonna want him when he can't even stand out vs league one opposition.
-
Was he really? He was the only real trier and goalscorer in a pretty awful period for the club but I don't think he holds a torch to any of this squad bar the obviously lazy and shit ones.
-
That is only not an advantage if you think it's a red card. Awful reffing.
-
You're going to have to narrow that down. Soumare, Skipp, Faes, Ayew, Daka can all fit that not really worth the shirt mould.
-
why is Faes a defender when he seems entirely uninterested in the art of defending. Just charging forward whenever he fancies
-
stonewaller really, but where were the defence?
-
No wonder he's so uninvolved if he's having to carry around random forum members while playing.
-
Since when did Hamza have that in his locker, ****ing hell
-
Literally 3 months ago when he put out his immigration stance that directly lifted from Enoch Powell's Rivers of Blood speech, that got Powell kicked out of the Tories by Heath.
-
honestly the problem with this is it's frequently used to argue that labour are centrists. Maybe relative to UK politics they are but if that's the case, when a labour PM is saying the sort of things that used to get you kicked out of the Tories for being too racist, then UK politics has mired itself in and normalised the far right.

the order of causality really should be taught in schools (although how much that would help when Clarkson is about to do his yearly "I didn't pay attention at school and everything worked out for me" tweet). like climate change leads to changes in microclimate leads to changes in growing zones, leads to adjusted and often reduced harvests, leads to "we should do something about this" and so to we need drastic action to fix the climate and so to net zero.
