From a tackling perspective you get away with way more in The Championship. That’s the physicality I’m talking about. Not pace. BTW, we are way off the pace in the Premier League in part because our squad AND manager are both significantly weaker than the one that got promoted.
-
Very harsh to be subbed off at half time. Strange loan to a club that struggles in possession and is in a Championship relegation fight. Getting hooked at half time again isn’t great for his development, he would’ve been better off here rotating a LW role with Stephy and gaining more experience in a less physical league.

Mavididi has barely started and mainly been used off the bench when a game that we’ve set up to block has gone. Even an off form Mavididi offers way more attacking threat and an ability to stretch the opposition than Bobby Reid or Ayew.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

He’s the second person who has at some point been employed within Leicester’s youth department that I’ve heard from that seems very reluctant to give first team game time at Leicester to our young players. Obviously they’re the experts but maybe too much attention is given within youth coaching at LCFC to the risks that come with giving game time to the younger players within the 1st team set up rather than any benefits that might bring. As if the rawness they bring into a role can only have a negative impact. Sometimes, surely their unpredictability can be a real strength, particularly off the bench and particularly if its young players in a less risky attacking role? -
Simple answer is we played more players that can create opportunities. Before today our formation meant only ELK was a creator. Today we played 2 extra creative players in Mavididi and K-Mac. So we had 3 players on the pitch who could create opportunities, If we’d’ve gone with Monga at RW rather than K-Mac then it might’ve been even better.

LCFC 0-3 Newcastle - Post Match Thread
funkyrobot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Like any fan you are entitled to protest whichever way you want and not attending is a legitimate way of doing that. You didn’t address my real issue with your OP. To suggest that those of us who do attend should be ‘ashamed’ of ourselves for turning up, as you did in your original post, was unfair and plainly a wrong comment to make to fellow Lcfc fans. -

I can tell you I happily clapped Monga as he walked round on his own at the end. 15 years old ffs.- 208 replies

LCFC 0-3 Newcastle - Post Match Thread

Saying fans should be ashamed of themselves for watching their club is just wrong, I totally respect people exercising their right not to attend as a form of protest but I can tell you there were no fans clapping the rubbish last night. In the first half the players, RVN and Rudkin would’ve been absolutely aware of the disdain the fans had for them. In the second half, the change in formation and players was rightly encouraged by fans who saw a big improvement in attacking intent. At the end of the second half fans were pointedly applauding the creative players that have been ostracised by RVN and had shown some effort going forward. Buonanotte, Mavididi and specifically Monga will have been boosted by the fans and that makes a statement to RVN and the club.- 208 replies

How much did Chelsea ruin us this season?
funkyrobot replied to An Away Move's topic in Leicester City Forum
The point is there’s absolutely no way Enzo would’ve chucked money and contracts at Skipp, Okoli, Ayew, BDCR and Edouard. Our squad would’ve been way more competitive had the money been spent by Enzo than Cooper. -

No LCFC fan disputes the terrible mismanagement by the KP senior team but If you don’t think Chelsea poaching our manager and our best player on the eve of the new season has had any impact on our season then you could be accused of being delusional!😂 -
Great to see Monga get game time. As he got up to speed he started to see success against an outstanding full back in Livramento. It makes a mockery of the loaning of Alves. He should’ve stayed and be given significant game time alongside our creative players - Buonanotte, Mavididi, ELK and kids like Monga and Evans.

How much did Chelsea ruin us this season?

Enzo is a better coach than Martin. He’s a better coach and man manager than Cooper and RVN. We would’ve been in a better position had he stayed and had we kept KDH.We certainly wouldn’t’ve signed Ayew, BDCR, Edouard or Skipp. He wouldn’t’ve sidelined Fatawu and Mavididi, he wouldn’t’ve used VK, he wouldn’t set up a midfield with just 2 non creative 6’s in. Bouba and Ndidi. He wouldn’t get in to arguments about commuting. Yes the club is a shambles from senior management down but with this in mind Chelsea effectively ruined any hope when they took our manager and our best player. -
Already bumped into a friendly Geordie fan who’s gonna be sat on his hands in the home end. I’ve told him to look disgruntled, swear a lot and keep swearing about ‘fkin Rudkin’
-
Such are the levels of failure that RVN is demonstrating I can’t take his side on this debate. He’s made every player worse, his team selection and team performances shows zero intent to attack. If he’s here next season then we’ll continue to get stories like this and like Vesty’s dog because he isn’t creating any positive stories on the pitch. If this treatment of Winks is because he’s creating a bomb squad that he wants to remove from the club then he’s doing it without any of the tact that Maresca used at Chelsea that allowed him to drop players like Chilwell with minimal noise.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
funkyrobot replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
He talks a very bad, already defeated game with added buzz words/statements that don’t actually mean anything. It’s no surprise he’s lost the players. -
Nuge moved local but the rest commuted with no problems.
-
If you’ve listened to Ben Marshall’s very funny ‘under the cosh’ episode his issues weren’t related to commuting. His problems were drinking and shagging 😂
-
They’ve all stunk the place out. Which midfielders do we have that are better footballers than Winks? Ndidi perhaps but other than that?
-
A lack of reliability can be a sign of lack of commitment. I’m not saying Madders is pulling sickies but using him as a glowing example of commitment when he misses a third of the season every season is a bit of a stretch. Winks commuting is a non issue that is perhaps being used by RVN to reinforce his leadership when he’s struggling to manage. The issue is a poor people manager, managing a poor squad (badly) at a club that is an absolute embarrassment at the moment from Top to bottom.
-
Seriously? Have you never worked with a colleague that seems to be more susceptible to illnesses and never (even subconsciously) questioned their commitment? Wow.
-
You’re referencing madders as a glowing example of commitment. A player who misses a third of the season every season.
-
However painful it is to accept, Winks is one of our better midfielders. Better than Skipp, better than Soumare. RVN should focus on imposing the bare minimum standards on the pitch first. That starts with picking the best players at his disposal and playing them with some semblance of an attacking plan. He’s failed miserably at this. He instructed his team to defend the 2-0 loss in the 2nd half yesterday (as confirmed by Luke Thomas) as if losing 2-0 without a fight or even attempting to score is going to help our desperate relegation fight. His standards have resulted in 0 goals in the last 7 games, - all defeats. His management of Winks hasn’t improved the player or the team, his management of Buonanotte hasn’t improved the player or the team, his management of Mavididi hasn’t helped the player or the team, his management of Coulibaly has been disastrous. As I say, the only player who isn’t dialling it in at the moment is Luke Thomas. Poor people management from RVN.
-
Can’t believe the amount of positive comments are on here about RVN dealing with this issue. He’s been a complete failure from a management perspective. He’s desperate to improve standards off the pitch but he seems to have absolutely no care about standards ON the pitch which have plummeted significantly from even the poor levels under Cooper. He’s forced players to stop commuting but how has that helped Vestergaard for example? He’s now in the bomb squad. Picking unnecessary fights with one of our better midfielders who’s just had a kid and who commuted every day during Enzo’s stint (and with no problems) seems stupid and the act of an increasingly desperate leader. The fact is he has none of the team other than arguably Luke Thomas actually playing for him would suggest he needs to look closer to home and his own management techniques which have dumped creative players, ignored youth, demotivated the entire squad and alienated the fans.

Bomb squaded Winksy last night. I get that like the rest of the midfield he has had a poor season but Ruud’s incapability to get him to play after Soumare and Ndidi continue to fail is another reason why his position is untenable. Say what you like about Winks but he has more quality than Skipp, more application than Soumare.
-
Yeh he’s had no backing but week on week he picks teams that aren’t going to score never mind win an actual game. Benching Buonanotte, Mavididi, Pereira, ignoring his new attacking wing back signing Coulibaly. Ignoring all of the creative youth players. He’s done the very worst job he could using the worst combination of players at his disposal.
