He’s fluffed them mate. He hides whenever there’s potentially a risky pass that he might receive. He wall passes, rarely plays on the turn, lets anyone else take responsibility.
-
Based on Rowett’s ppg here and at Oxford it’s guaranteed to be 2 losses, 1 win and 2 draws. 5 points in 5 games. I’m going for LCFC v Swansea Draw pompey v LCFC draw lcfc v hull loss lcfc v Millwall loss blackburn v LCFC (already relegated pressure off) convincing Win.

Skipp doesn’t work harder. Winks tracks back, covers the full back and never hides from the ball. Skipp hides from the ball.
-
The idea that Skipp is the better option than Winks and plays the ball faster is more than fanciful. He’s a passenger. Wall passes, hides on the pitch and we score when he gets hooked when we are no longer playing one man down in the absolutely key area of central midfield.
-
Keeps playing Winks?? It’s Skipp that’s the passenger in this midfield.

Serves up the same every match. Same tired formation, same players playing the same cautious football, same subs. No doubt same bullshit sound bite at the end too. 1 point a match. Get him in the bin.
-
We are down, he might as well take us there. Not really sure it was ever wise to sack Cifuentes and replace him with a manager deemed not good enough by fkin Oxford tbh

Away v Sheff Weds. 06/04/26 Match Thread

Skipp is always totally redundant -
If we lose this, I’d definitely let Gareth know that Blackburn away will be his last game. He won’t have the ability to manage us in League 1.

Yeh I didn’t read the whole essay my bad. I stopped at the free Chang 🤣 but 2.28/29 isn’t 2.30 mate. If you are going to have a cut off time then at least honour it. With phones and smart watches we all have the correct time so 2.30 should be 2.30. I blagged a can with a less jobsworthy steward but everyone else who was also pointing out the time wasn’t 2.30 were ignored.
-
I would prefer a fit James to start ahead of Skipp but he’s not available then maybe Bobby Reid. Reid definitely isn’t a left winger though! I thought Mavididi was ok yesterday. He’s a winger though, on the peripheries, if we had a more influential midfielder than Skipp playing, better opportunities might be opened up.
-
He was ok yesterday, nothing outstanding except for that one time he mugged the attacker off in the second half with a decent bit of footwork. Did seem happy to drop Luke Thomas in the shit with flat sideways passing that resulted in either a pressurised clearance or getting tackled. Looked less for the penetrative forward ball than Vesty would.
-
He didn’t help himself by pointlessly diving miles from the ball rather than attempting to run to his back post to deflect it over tbf.
-
Jakob’s confidence looks shot, he nearly cost us a further goal when he came out of his area when it was clearly Nelson’s ball to play back to him. My only problem is I don’t think Beggo is much better. He’s another giant keeper who seems petrified to leave his line at set pieces and has a kicking ability that’s even worse than Stolarcyck and Preston’s Iversen.

Another ref issue today m was having booked the player for the foul on Daka, he still made Patson go off for 30 seconds. I thought that if the injury was a result of a booked foul, then the victim didn’t have to leave the pitch?
-
If you are reading this Hughesy, would you ffs ask your players to mark opponents at the back fkin post.
-
Terrible ref. Really poor. When you consider the soft red BDCR got at Brum and the multiple fouls put in by multiple Preston defenders that would warranted two yellows. Another ref apparently beguiled by the narrative of LCFC dropping to League 1 and reffing accordingly.

Missed a sitter but deep down we all knew it was going to happen eh? I thought he was anonymous again today and we were much improved when Bobby Reid took his place. I just don’t get it with Skipp (like i just don’t get it with Mainoo and England tbf.) Doesn’t do enough in defence, doesn’t show for the ball enough when we are in possession. For their first goal he made no effort to show for our throw in - instead Fatawu further away from the throw and in a more pressured position took responsibility to move into space and encourage the throw to go to him and it backfired, he lost the ball and they scored. He’ll rightly get the blame but watch Skipp and he has no interest in even providing a dummy run never mind demand the ball. If James is fit I’d play him alongside Winks and leave the excellent Mukasa in the 10 role. James is an intelligent enough footballer to be able to play a more disciplined defensive role during a match if required
-
I thought he did alright, particularly in the second half. Bit confused why he’s apparently the scapegoat today? For me the game changed massively when Skipp was hooked and Bobby Reid took his place.
-
Free Chang unexpectedly ended at 2.30. Loads of people got turned away with loads of cans left. I got there with a minute to spare but they’d shut early, a steward got me one as he felt guilty. Respect to that lad for giving me the opportunity to guzzle a can of good old Chang(over.)

Yep. Not good enough.

Averaging 1 point a match is worse than Cifuentes. 🤷🏻♂️

Yeh you have a bad memory for Perez, very rarely played centrally behind a striker. Not sure why you are even comparing him to Daka. Daka was signed as replacement for Vardy, Perez wasn’t. They are two very different players with different roles. Your mind is most definitely playing you tricks (as you suspect to be fair to you) Daka’s link up play other than simple short passes is very loose. Whatever style we play his poor technique will always prevent him from being any consistent threat even at Championship level. Stop comparing him to a different player in a different role, Daka has been a catastrophic signing for the club - the worst one in the last ten years considering the time he’s been with us and the levels of failure he’s experienced in that time.
-
Daka is being played in his favourite position and as a number 9 is rightly judged on his goals. Perez prefers playing centrally behind a main striker and never really had the opportunity to play that under Rodgers. The fundamental difference between the two though is one clearly has very good technical footballing ability that you’d expect of a premier league level signing and one clearly hasn’t. Perez could pass, control and dribble with the ball. Daka has never demonstrated any consistent ability to pass, control or dribble with the ball.
