  1. Had their big striker in his back pocket. I thought he was outstanding. Pinging balls with both feet, aggressive front foot defending. Looked dangerous in the opponents box. Him and Faes were imperious today.
  2. I thought he did alright when he came on. Pressed well. Won an excellent challenge high up the pitch to create a chance because of it.
  3. Vestergaard every bit as good as those two as well. Very hard to be critical of any of them. They were against a team who were set up to defend and who have been good at doing that recently!
  4. Some incredibly harsh ratings for a game we absolutely dominated, created lots of chances and played some lovely football.
  5. He was excellent but for me it was Vesty
  6. Unbelievable shade being put on Vesty on this post Boro podcast, particularly from Jacket Spud lad! Very harsh. He’s been an absolute lynchpin this season!
  7. Think there’s an overreaction about Mavididi. He’s been a key part of our success this season. I thought he was ok against Leeds. Obviously today was an off day. It’s a fact to say we have less specialist rotation on the left wing, it’s not as easy to bring him in and out of the starting 11 (particularly with the versatile Akgun out.) He’s a dribbler, it’s a case of risk and reward - he simply can’t always win these battles. With our number 8’s faltering and our centre forwards stuttering, our wingers have come under more pressure to be our creative outlets and have been targeted by opponents aware of this. The sooner these other creative areas step up, the more space will be available for Mavididi and his fellow wingers again. Hopefully the return to fitness of Ndidi, Praet, Akgun and Cannon will help Mavididi.
  8. Playing number 9 in this system isn’t easy, Vardy’s probably not got enough technique (outside of world class finishing) to be consistently the number 9 and Iheanacho hasn’t really shone under Enzo as we would’ve expected him to. Cannon surely is more aligned with the skillset that Enzo wants and maybe another alternative needs to be sourced in the January window. The other option is to move Mavididi into an alternative central choice with his ability to beat a man. This would at least create chaos and space for wingers and our number 8’s.
  9. He would’ve fitted in as Winksy’s understudy with Enzo. The lad could retain possession and he continually moved off the ball to create space. The quality of people management has gone up significantly since Rodger’s has left. The article states he played 7 games in the Premier league for us, this is correct only if you ignore the other 91 premier league matches he played in a City shirt!
  10. Hamza didn’t replace Casadei’s position. He took the Ricardo inverted fullback role and Ricardo took over Casadei’s right number 8 position and was much better than Butch. I agree that it might be worth trying McAteer if Enzo decides to keep Ricardo as inverted fullback but I personally think he’ll keep the team as it finished. We need Ndidi back and players like Praet and Alves pushing Casadei to improve.
  11. Yeh and maybe with Ndidi out Enzo might start with this set up against Boro. Perhaps for the first time this season there could be a first 11 switch for a real negative reason rather than just to rotate. Casadei was way off it yesterday and he can’t complain if he’s replaced at right sided number 8 by Ricardo. It’s a shame Praet is unavailable as he would be perfect in the role.
  12. Out of the 6 minutes of extra time we saw about two minutes of football. Ref was oblivious. Can’t believe how much credit he’s getting. 😂
  13. We didn’t create much today. Vardy really struggled and that wasn’t helped by Leeds nullifying our number 8’s throughout the game, (particularly Casadei who was schooled by Kamara) once the goal went in they also doubled up on our wingers. Would’ve been a draw but for a poor bit of defending at the corner. Fair play to Farke for his tactics tbh.
  14. He wasn’t that bad, his passing wasn’t as good as it has been but considering the pace of their attack and the fact that going 1-0 up meant they could play on the break, they didn’t actually create that much. It was more we created very little going forward.
  15. I get that but he was scruffier with the ball tonight than he generally has been under Enzo. He didn’t try and hold the ball up and a few wayward first time lay-offs put us under pressure and on the back foot.
  16. That’s a very generous rating. Lost control in the last quarter. He was oblivious to the shithousery that Leeds employed to time waste. Very little actual football was played in the last 10-15 minutes and the ref didn’t realise/care what was happening. Not sure it would’ve made much of a difference tonight but he wasn’t worthy of being given too much credit for his performance.
  17. I’ve been saying this for YEARS. This place has been crying out for a reaction t9. And YES someone finally agrees with me! -It IS because ‘when o saw a laigh!’ So there. Blue Army!!
  18. You make Raikhy sound like a perfect replacement for Tielemans!
