Presumably Praet is off? He looked good in those 20 minutes against Rotherham, after being out with that stress fracture. Enzo had already stated that he was the one player in his midfield that can perform all aspects of the number 8 role he wants and now he’s not the bench 2 games running. Thought he was the best option we had for cover for Ndidi during AFCON. 🤷🏻♂️

Yeh true, Johnson’s was sadly as much about mental health issues as injuries I think. Such a shame as he was initially outstanding for Man City.
-
Nick Powell and Michael Johnson both had contracts terminated before their loan deals were due to end, not based on injury. I don’t expect Butch to get the same treatment unless Chelsea aren’t happy with his game time.
-
He looked lazy tonight. Off the pace and made me wish Daka was still on the pitch despite him being bang average before he went off.

Dreadful referee. If we were Notts Forest we’d be writing a complaint letter to PGMOL.- absolute nailed on penalty, clear red card before that. I appreciate that we had to rotate but the fact is we lost control because our replacements weakened us. Iheanacho was lazy and made Daka’s average showing suddenly look much better. Akgun should’ve replaced Fatawu not KDH. Coady should’ve been hooked and Justin swapped in, moving Faes into Coady’s spot and Justin to cover the pace of Hutchinson. -
Yeh not seen that much pace from him as of yet which seems strange when he said in his interview last week that he models his game on Vardy in his prime. In his absolute prime the GOAT was as rapid as a whippet and it was a key part of his game alongside world class finishing.
-
I think he meant he dislikes playing counter attack football rather than disliking a counter attack when we have to do it. It’s clearly an approach very well drilled in the team but he’d rather create chances through retaining possession!

Birmingham City (A) 2-3 Leicester - Post-Match Thread

Sky with a post match Brum bias there. They brought up a potential dive for Mavididi (but barely touched on the very harsh yellow he got for celebrating by sitting saying nothing sat on the advertising hoarding.) Then focused on the potential red when the lad stepped across to block Fatawu, but failed to mention when KDH was about 4 yards onside and clear through and the linesman flagged him offside ffs. -
I try and join in with a lot of the chants in H1 as we are relatively close to UFS and I’m not the only one. However I still can’t make head nor tail of some songs, particularly that Daka song that’s been resurrected since his return to the team. 🤷🏻♂️

Lacked composure at times today for an international striker. He really should’ve scored two. Some of his link up play was decent, some not so decent. You can see why he might be our best option at the moment, particularly because of his pace but you can also see how he might not be a long term solution for us because of his flaws. The enigma that is Daka.
-
Great game, got a bit of devilment in him too which riles the opponents and helps him in his battle with his defender. Him and KDH were almost unplayable today. The substitution, whilst necessary to protect Mavididi from a potential second booking really weakened us as we lost his skill and pace on the wing, lost the outstanding number 8 role KDH was fulfilling today and weakened it with Ricardo and in turn we weakened the breaking ability that we had at inverted fullback with Ricardo compared to his replacement Hamza. That made the last 15 minutes a bit more painful than it would’ve been had we got a winger back up on the bench.
-
Tbf we missed about 4 absolute sitters. Fatawu had his 50p boots on, Daka had his 20p boots on and Butch Casadei had his cowboy boots on

Wisely subbing Mavidid because this ref would’ve sent him off at some point -

This ref has absolutely no interest in throwins being taken anywhere near when they go out. Lazy refereeing. -
You know that for a fact do you? The manager said we couldn’t sign any players. We weren’t expecting to lose Fofana and Faes was signed at the last minute because a replacement was justified on the basis that Rodgers didn’t have sufficient cover (having written off Vesty.) The noise from the club at the time fits that we weren’t able to sign a keeper. You don’t believe that but haven’t shown any evidence that there was even a goalkeeper looked at by the club.

His booking for sitting on the advertising hoarding saying nothing to the Birmingham fans is somewhat harsh. Not usually given a booking for going round the other side of the hoardings and he didn’t fully as he was sat on it. Generally, they have been given way more free kicks than us despite us being tactically fouled on a regular basis. He’s definitely favoured the home team. -
Scruffy football from Daka and at times Fatawu. We should be 4-1 up despite a ref apparently beguiled by Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City FC™️
-
Ignore the FFP part because it doesn’t fit your narrative.👍🏻
-
It’s not just about the fee anyway, there was a FFP restriction and a limit to how many players a team can register. The fact is the club didn’t sign a keeper in that first window, just a one in one out defender so that would suggest you are less likely to be correct!
-
Not true back at you. You are talking about a different transfer window, in the summer transfer window when Kasper left we had no funds. By the winter window we would’ve had further funds from the Fofana deal and as Rodgers was a Ward fan, he would’ve had no intention to use funds to buy a replacement.
-
Iversen wasn’t adequate was he? He was better than Ward but that’s no endorsement. He’s now 4th choice keeper such is his lack of ability with his feet. He was also no replacement for Kasper in his authority and leadership.
-
We didn’t have an adequate replacement though (or the money to buy one.) The mistake definately was moving Kasper on.
-
Get over it Brendan. You need to focus on your Celtic boys now.
-
The silent majority think he’s doing great. It’s the one or two moaners that make all the noise at the game and on social media. There was one guy behind me who constantly moaned about Mahrez in 15/16 ffs & he’s now one of the lump it forward moaners.
