  1. Damn!! Beat me to it!
  2. It’s certainly a learning that he’ll take from your post
  3. I’d imagine one way to get the sale value down considerably would be to not include Seagrave, but lease it to the club long term as part of the deal
  4. Another JJ I hadn’t heard of!!
  5. You’re absolutely right… my 3 was James Justin, Jordan James, Jayden Joseph!! I’d forgotten about Julian Joachim, and never heard of Jorrin John!!
  6. I think I preferred trying to guess what we were playing at rather than knowing!!
  7. I wish I shared your optimism. I think we’ll be bottom 3 with 15 games gone before they even notice
  8. They closed down quickly and as a team, knocked the ball about crisply, broke with pace, solid no nonsense defending… I thought they looked a decent side in every department. We don’t take much beating, you’re right, because we make a simple game so complicated
  9. Yeah me too, was in the right places, battled, and looked lively. Thankless task of making runs whilst we ignore and turn back to the centre halves
  10. You can only remain angry for so long. I cared passionately 6/7 years ago seeing us throw away our hard won place at the top table. I was livid 3/4 years ago seeing us relegated so predictably. But now, I watch with interest, almost like an academic studying their favourite subject. Watching our terminal decline, frustrated but looking after my own health by no longer allowing it to affect my mood or stress levels. There’s nothing I can do to influence an owner that lives 1000s of miles away, who’s thick, lazy and incompetent and has surrounded himself likewise. Staying angry is just shouting at the moon.
  11. I agree with everything other than the scoreline flattering Oxford. I thought they looked two leagues above us today, they were absolutely superior in every way and 4-0 didn’t flatter them
  12. Me too, he was woeful… and compounded his awful performance by being the laziest player on the field. Terrible.
  13. What did his dad say??
  14. Martin being a disaster is as predictable as his awful football
  15. Hurray!!! A new low!
  16. Yeah absolutely right about the keeper protection being greater higher up the pyramid. We’re ultimately playing division 3 football now though, it’s something we’ve got to adapt to
  17. I think you should expect to get clattered as a keeper and you habitually collect the ball with a defensive body shape to make sure that any thug of a striker gets your knee firmly in his stomach. I played a few games as a keeper and training for crosses was as much about defensive body shape as it was catching the ball. Not always possible of course, and Stol’s approach route made it awkward, but having a foot on the floor, side on, on contact was an error that a coach would spot if it was training
  18. Congratulations JJ3, richly deserved. It’s incredible how different it feels with a competent cog in the machine that does seem work, keep it up James McCarron too!!
  19. I suspect Jacob will re-live this moment and wonder why he chose the body position he collected the ball with. It looked awkward and a little unnatural, and set him up badly for impact, but 999 out of 1000 times it matters not a jot. Horribly unlucky, and hope he recovers well
  20. We have become so accustomed to incompetence over the last 5+ years that a “normal” transfer window is lauded. Player trading to improve the squad, suit the manager’s style and represent better value should be a given not a surprise. Congratulations are due however, to James McCarron, for finally restoring competence to our player trading activities. Shame on King Power and Top for not giving a toss about the basics of running a football club for so long.
  21. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when he did that… literally seconds before kick off wasn’t it?
  22. Fair play to RM, he doesn’t seem to have favourites. That’s a really strong team, and is selected on form
  23. Tinged with sadness, but the right thing to do for all parties
  24. I can’t remember which blades player we were linked with a few weeks ago. Poss swap deal (as they can’t be trusted to pay)?
