Just another example of a young talented player losing confidence and regressing at our toxic club. There are clearly players in that dressing room that undermine their team mates. The young players are the most likely to be affected by their negativity, and we can see every single young player going backwards. A functioning football department with a competent DOF would support a manager to eradicate those negative forces in the squad (and would have probably not recruited them in the first place). Again, a player that is a symptom of our problem (incompetent leadership) that will thrive in a functioning elite sporting environment.

I nearly put BDCR too … he seems to have a fair few on field arguments

Guppy was definitely slower, but infinitely better. Pace is a big attribute of a good winger, but it’s still possible to be a good winger without it!

Interesting! My money is on: Winks Vesty Ayew

Entirely agree, and think it will be hilarious if they do sack him and inevitably burn at least one of the remaining games whilst they recruit someone. They are reaping what they sowed, the chickens are coming home to roost etc etc!!

The strangest thing ever at a football match

This is going to take some beating!! -
Absolutely. I’m quite astonished that it’s not already happening in the stands.

When appointed, I thought GR was quite a pragmatic hire and would prove to be a shrewd one. He’s improved us in some ways, but no where near enough. Thankfully we haven’t committed to a long term contract (although inevitably we will)

There should be a protest at every game

1 win, 2 draws, 2 lost Relegated by 4 points

You’re clearly not serious?? If you are, can you please tell me when because I’ve supported us since Pleat and couldn’t disagree more

Ugh??

Is it that the club own Seagrave but have used it as security on a loan from KP?

I can’t believe I’m about to type something in mild defense of Babylon… But I think he’s just rather contrarian, I’ve had many an argument with his logic, which on almost every subject seemed to attempt to speak for the person under fire.

And yet we signed a keeper and a winger that haven’t played. There is no excuse for us not signing a striker - it’s such an obvious priority position and has been for 4-5 windows now

It really is a mystery why our management think a youth team player would be a risk against playing Daka

The KPFC fans can’t understand the situation at all. That’s not a wilful decision they are making. The socio-economic reality for the majority of them (and wider football fans) is low paid “blue collar” (in old terminology) people that are familiar and comfortable with being told what to do, and who to vote for (by parental / peer expectation), and generally fit into this role by not standing out with radical or different ideas. Acceptance is king. “Fitting in” is extremely important… Wearing the uniform / clothes of their peers, being angry at the same set of people, having the same opinions. Loyalty is seen as an alpha trait… It’s a key driver behind the success of football over the last century. The identity of being an XYFC fan is really appealing to these people; “We hate ABFC”, we wear X brand, and these items are acceptable from the club shop. Within this broader cohort there are sub species; Kopites, lads n dads, who identify firstly as XYFC fans and then their often non defined subset “away day lads” / “flask and sandwich loyalists” (part of being in those sub categories is just fitting in to their cohort that is very subtle and difficult to define, unlike the branding easily defined by the Stone Island crew). I’ve digressed. Ultimately they see loyalty to their club as character defining, by extension they’ve applied that to the ownership structure that bought them success. The stronger they display those attributes the better fan they are. The wider life strategy of “Know your place” becomes “proper fans through thick and thin” etc. Nothing will change these people’s opinions because having the rigid loyalty is a badge of honour (however stupid to the rest of us). By definition, fans on a forum, discussing positive and negative aspects of their club in detail aren’t like these people… So what’s seen as “typical Foxestalk” by them is the complement of “free thinking”. Or I’m just part of a cohort, fitting in without my knowledge or approval, just like they do!

Loads of endeavour from Pompey but they really lack quality. Them being above us in the league is truly humiliating
