  1. Job done but far from convincing. It won’t be coming home if we continue to play like that.
  2. Agreed with Fabregas, need to be more consistent with our domination. But plenty of positive performances in that half, Guehi, Rice, Bellingham & Saka have been excellent.
  3. Bellingham ghosting in like a peak Andy King
  4. If Vestergaard starts for us next season, then he has to be in the middle of a back three, play him in a two or at LCB like Denmark did today then he’ll get annihilated.
  5. The Leicester lads will be familiar with that post match stadium music
  6. Unsurprisingly the first refereeing farce of the Euros comes at the hands of an Englishman.
  7. Loved everything about that first half performance from the Swiss. Controlled possession, excellent in the press and well organised defensively. Xhaka is having a field day so far.
  8. They’ll be crying into their Haggis tonight
  9. The problem with certain videos like this, along with certain articles on his tactics, they always seem to focus on one set formation, 3-4-2-1 being the main focus here. Even though 3-4-2-1 or 3-5-2 seemed to be his more favourable formation at Brighton, Potter showed many times at Brighton that he’s flexible with his formation. At times he adopted a 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3. If he does come, then I think our squad is more suited to the style that he played at Swansea. Throughout that season he predominantly played a 4-2-3-1, with more natural wide players offering width in Dan James, Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer. He also tended to invert Kyle Naughton into a central position, enabling Swansea to create overloads and build through the middle, something of which he could easily do with Ricardo Pereira.
  10. With the club seemingly wanting to build on a possession based philosophy, you’d have to give Potter the slight edge over Corberan on that front. But I feel Corberan would be a bit more flexible in his approach, while his passionate attitude on the touchline would get fans on side very quickly, especially if it translates onto the pitch. He’s done enough imo to warrant a shot at managing in the Premier League. I prefer the way Corberan carries himself over Potter, but I would happily take either.
  11. FFS. I was hoping for Harry Kewell.
  12. We supposedly had scouts at Olympiacos vs Fenerbahce back in April, so could be some truth in this rumour.
  13. This is what Potter has played from Swansea through to Chelsea. If he does come, then I’d expect him to alternate between 4-2-3-1 and 3-4-3.
  14. Another player that’s been on my radar who should come in the £5-10 million bracket.
  15. Someone at the club is clearly obsessed with Potter, while someone clearly admirers Solskjaer as this is the second time he’s been linked. Maybe it’s Rudkin on both accounts. Potter even though I think he’s a bit overrated, does make perfect sense with building on a possession philosophy. OGS like you say would be bizarre, no real idea what his style actually is. The thought of him in charge gives me nightmares.
  16. OGS was linked around the same time last year, if reports were right last year, then someone at the club really admires him. That someone needs the sack.
  17. Nice shout. He was someone I looked at a few weeks ago. Possession oriented, with aggressive pressing out of possession. AEK Athens statistics for challenge intensity and PPDA are unreal.
  18. Thought he deserved a new contract, but three years is very excessive. Very much in @Ian Nacho camp, thoroughly expected something like a one year contract with option of a second. If he didn’t want that, then we should’ve cut ties.
  19. Firmly cemented in my top five favourite Leicester City players of all time. Thanks for the memories 💙 And for the final time 😢...
  20. Could you say it was a bit of both 🤔 In the latter stages of De Zerbi’s reign, I thought certain elements of Brighton got found out. Defensively especially they took a few bruisings after the new year. In terms of recruitment I don’t think anything drastically changed, they’ve followed the same pattern that they normally do, Joao Pedro for example was a success last season. I just don’t think certain players are on the same wave length that the likes of Caicedo & MacAllister reached for Brighton, maybe they’ll get there at some point, but that might take another 2-3 season’s. I think any manager who plays an inventive possession style would be a smoother transition for us. Hurzeler would fit that category, as would Cuesta who you’ve been keen on, and Heitinga who I’ve been keen on. With the situation we find ourselves in though, it’s probably not the right time for one of the above.
  21. This is a bloody long read mate https://analyticsfc.co.uk/blog/2023/11/10/st-paulis-year-of-hurzeler-now-also-playing-the-best-football-in-the-2-bundesliga/ But if you pick out certain extracts from it, it becomes less of a surprise that Brighton have landed on this guy. Numerous similarities to De Zerbi in terms of in possession build up.
  22. Wonder how much Brighton would want for Carl Rushworth 🤔 He’d be right near the top of my list if we lost Hermansen.
