  1. During the 22/23 season I personally thought he was Lens most underrated player. The partnership he built with Seko Fofana was excellent, and they complemented each other really well. In possession Samed was very reliable, while on the defensive end I wouldn’t class him as an enforcer type, but he had good defensive awareness to protect the back three and mop up danger. This season though as you’ve pretty much said, his form has fell off a cliff. In the early part of the season, Franck Haise was very much mix and matching trying to find the right midfield partnership. Samed though just looked off, really didn’t look the same player since Seko Fofana departed. More mistakes crept into his game defensively, while in possession he didn’t look as reliable. As the 23/24 season went on, Haise very much preferred using Neil El Aynaoui(Who I rate highly) and NAMPALYS MENDY! I personally don’t see Samed as a box to box midfielder, he is very much a sitting kind of midfielder, who can be really strong and dependable in possession. But he is the definition of a player that looks broken, if we want a midfielder from Lens, I’d rather El Aynaoui.
  2. He’d be the greatest Dutchman at Leicester City since Michael Lamey.
  3. Signed with the same agent as Vestergaard Still as manager and Vestergaard 5 year contract incoming!
  4. Manchester City 0-1 Leicester: Vincent Kompany scores spectacular winner
  5. If it is to be Corberan, then as a few posters have touched on today, they’ll be certain positions of importance, the defensive midfield situation especially. Comparing Alex Mowatt to what he gave to West Brom this season, against what Harry Winks gave to us, there’s numerous similarities. According to FBRef, Mowatt produced 106 shot creating actions, compared to Winks 105. Over per 90 minutes, Mowatt is just a tad higher. When it comes to progressive passes and progressive carries, they are pretty much identical. On evidence, Winks would suit a Corberan style, but I think the most important thing would be getting in some size to go alongside him, very much like what Yokuslu offers to West Brom. Also of importance is West Brom’s width and what their wide players give them. Conor Townsend was averaging 3 crosses per90 last season. While very much like Mavididi and Fatawu, Tom Fellows and Mikey Johnston were both averaging over 7 dribbles per90.
  6. Thought I recognised Neel, he was in my class at Junior School
  7. Dwight Yorke
  8. No doubt there’s numerous selling points from our stand point, Seagrave being the main one. However this isn’t the Leicester City of the title winning days, this is nowhere near the Leicester City of even two years ago. So much damage has been done, so much uncertainty still looms, a points deduction being the main. Also there’s likely to be much upheaval regarding the playing squad, personally I don’t think our squad is as attractive as it once was. Whoever comes in has a massive task on their hands, multiple adversities to potentially work under. As we’ve touched on, Corberan could be seen as an ideal fit, he’s worked through adversities and had success in doing so. But then comes back to the question, would he want to join yet another club with a bunch of problems, when for example he left Huddersfield because he was frustrated with what they were offering him. I think it all depends on what we can offer him and what our ambition is, but there’s so much that’s broken at Leicester City, where I could easily see him clashing with the board. West Brom nowadays look a far more stable project than when he first went in, better foundations could be laid for yet another promotion push next season, if that’s the case, then it wouldn’t be surprising if he actually stays at West Brom.
  9. The comments that strike me are the ones regarding a “Limited Squad”. A limited squad at Huddersfield, got them into the playoffs, now the same again at West Brom. Who knows what we’ll be able to do in the transfer market, but we do expect some sort of limitations, Corberan has a proven track record of working with limitations. West Brom though now have new ownership, would he be willing to jump ship from a more stable looking West Brom, to a Leicester City team that will be riddled with adverse difficulties 🤔
  10. A back three of Coady - Vestergaard - Souttar grinding out a 1-0 victory at Stamford Bridge 💉
  11. Looking forward to seeing him get the sack, after we beat them 1-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a Vestergaard overhead kick.
  12. I just like the way Edwards presents himself tbf. He has built up a good chemistry at Luton, you get the sense that players enjoy playing under him, you also get the sense that he has good man management, just look how he’s revitalised Ross Barkley for example. I just feel like we could do with someone with those credentials. In their promotion season, of course Nathan Jones laid the foundations, but the style Edwards plays was always going to be a seamless fit, plus he did get them promoted, something which Jones fell short on doing. As for Corberan, that’s my doubt on whether he’d join Leicester City. He’s been at two clubs with adverse difficulties, he knows what it takes to work in those situations, plus he’s had decent success in doing so. Would he want to go into a third club though that has similar problems, when now West Brom look in a more healthy position than when he joined them, he may think that he’s better off staying at The Baggies.
  13. When you weigh up the situation we find ourselves in, I’m starting to tip towards a manager who has history with working in adverse conditions. With a points deduction looming, with a potentially low budget at our disposal, and a strong possibility of heading straight back down, we need someone who has some substance of working in difficulties, someone who has had solid success in the Championship, or ideally a mixture of both. Therefore you have to look towards the likes of Corberan, Robins, Rosenior, Cooper, Carrick and Edwards. Of those I’ve listed, I’d probably side more towards Corberan or Edwards. Corberan did an unbelievable job at Huddersfield, with a squad that was filled with free transfers. He then went into a West Brom job, with owners that didn’t really want to invest, and built them into a play-off team. West Brom do have new ownership now, so would it be possible to prise Corberan away, when West Brom now look in a more healthy position 🤔 As for Edwards he is used to working with a small budget. The way he’s built a chemistry at Luton is something that should be admired. That togetherness and backs to the wall mentality, is something that we could do with, especially with the situation we’re going to find ourselves in.
  14. Moyes would probably want Ogbonna and Kouyate on free transfers.
  15. David Moyes. No Thanks. Some of their away results last season were absolutely pathetic. Plus his ultra defensive tactics would frustrate fans within weeks.
  16. I originally mentioned Heitinga as a joke. But after delving into what he produced at Ajax, actually appointing him would make a lot of sense. If we want a smooth transition, with a manager who plays similarly to what we’ve had with Maresca, Heitinga could actually be that guy. He often used inverted full backs or inverted a centre back to move into midfield, exactly like Maresca experimented with against Blackburn with using Choudhury. Also plays a 4-3-3 formation, with two 8’s that basically push up as two 10’s. But if it isn’t to be Heitinga, first and foremost our new manager must be someone who plays with wingers, or you might as well kiss goodbye to signing Fatawu on a permanent.
  17. Potter’s name gets mentioned a lot because he’s possession based. With the board seemingly adamant on wanting a possession based philosophy, then Potter ticks the boxes. We’ve been interested before, it would be no surprise if we show interest again. As for Will Still, both seasons at Reims he got them knocking on the door of a European spot, but towards the end of both campaigns, they ended up falling short. Personally I think a move to a Championship club would suit him best.
  18. Just making people reminisce Somebody at the club really admires him

  20. Graham Potter or Carlos Corberan will probably be the main two targets. With Johnny Heitinga as an outside bet.
  21. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
  22. I can taste Rutter’s tears from here
  23. Another one to watch for the upcoming seasons. In terms of natural talent, he looks the real deal.
  24. Came across that yesterday mate. Can see him being a strong contender for both us and Ipswich, if Maresca and McKenna do depart. Reading more on his time with Ajax, there’s many similarities to what we’ve seen under Maresca.
  25. He was a player on my radar as a potential Vestergaard replacement, but had a feeling he’d prove far too expensive, £30-£40 million range has been floated around for him in recent months. Him or Boscagli from the Eredivisie would be absolutely perfect for us.
