Bo Henriksen at Mainz will surely be at the top of Brentford’s wishlist if Frank goes.

I see a lot of comments from Boro fans describing him as having no plan B, being too tippy-tappy, being too predictable. Admittedly they also say they played some great football in his first season, but they got progressively worse under him. Can’t set up a defence and his Boro side were too soft. His style of play though is similar to what we’ve seen over the years, his methods are exactly what the King Power hierarchy usually go for. It’s not as insufferable as Russell Martin’s possession game, but you’ll still get a lot of slow, backwards and sideways football.
-
Some Boro fans on Carrick, sounds like the ideal King Power appointment He always plays the same style of football. Against teams who sit in we have no clue, no plan B. We are drifting along to miss out again. Too much sideways and backwards football for me. If we could shoot straight we could score a lot more. Carrick does not change things in games when it obviously isn't working. At times, the bench is better than what's on the pitch. So frustrating. We can pass teams off a pitch but can't win when we need to. Sadly, the Boro team are exhibiting the sanguine demeanour of its manager out on the pitch. Neil identified and exploited the soft underbelly and went for it. There's not much appetite for the fight amongst the players and their propensity to play conservative slow side-to-side football is costing us dear.

In other words “I really wanted the Rangers job when I discovered that Leicester fans called me a w****r.
-
For the final time ❤️ I look forward to revisiting this image when he replaces Danny Rohl as Leicester manager in three years time.
-
What is also a great idea is bringing in a manager who will use the likes of Nelson, Alves, Monga, Evans. Of managers that are available, Hasenhuttl is one of the strongest candidates where youth development is concerned
-
Boro fans were getting restless with him around January/February time, he earned himself a lifeline by getting them back in the top six, but then they fell away again. Possession based and comes across as very one-dimensional, has often been criticised for his defensive setup too. Pass.
-
He’d be a bit of a meh option, but with our squad as it is, with a plethora of youngsters coming through, Hasenhuttl would be a great fit imo. I was delving into average ages of squads and starting 11’s last night, as I’ve mentioned before with Dyche, his name always crops up on the “Oldest Squads” or “Oldest starting 11” lists. Hasenhuttl is the complete opposite, look at this for example from his time at Leipzig. His name crops up on the “Youngest starting 11” list while he was at Southampton and Wolfsburg too. It’s exactly what we need at Leicester City right now imo, a manager who will produce something like the above.
-
Someone had to replace the Russell Martin profile pic I can read Leicester City like a book, Dyche was unfortunately always going to come into the managerial conversation again. And knowing this club, it wouldn’t be a surprise if we bloody appoint him.
-
Even though I believe the more experienced names are underwhelming, of the managers that are available, Hasenhuttl > Dyche for me. At least Hasenhuttl plays a better brand of football, plus his track record of developing and using younger players is absolutely excellent. I’d take him on a two year deal, see if he can bring us some stability, then if he is still with us after two years, reassess and potentially get in someone younger.
-
Werner I think will get far better suitors than Leicester City. Thorup I see as more realistic. I’d put him in the same bracket as Brian Priske who I’ve mentioned in the past, both have won things in the lesser leagues, and those particular leagues tend to focus on youth development. Looking through Thorup’s history at the clubs he’s been at, his history with younger squads stacks up quite solidly, while in terms of formations, he has varied from club to club. Of the realistic foreign managers that are available, I’d put him quite high on my list.
-
1) Rohl 2) Rosenior 3) Cleverley, Selles
-
Mentioned him a while back as he felt like one of the better free agents at that time, but now more managers have become available, I’m not overly keen. He did a solid job at Mainz for a period of time, but didn’t last very long at Union Berlin. He also tends to favour a 3-4-2-1 formation, which doesn’t really fit with certain elements of our squad imo.
-
Have a sneaky feeling he’ll come here because we were supposedly interested last summer. Even if he doesn’t, he’ll surely be on the shortlist now.

I can finally change my profile pic

Always entertainment when Bublik plays, never know what you’re going to get.

There’s definitely more risk when it comes to the more up-and-coming names, the likes of Dyche or Hasenhuttl would feel more safe, but they’d also be very uninspiring. Of the type of football we need to give us a better shot long term, it’s why I’d favour Rohl over others. Rosenior has his positives, but I just don’t favour his style of play over other potential candidates. Statistically there’s similarities to what he produced at Hull, to what he is now producing at Strasbourg. In terms of direct speed, his Hull side were the only team in the Championship that were slower than Russell Martin’s Southampton. But you make a fair point when talking about rivals. Especially with what Southampton have done by appointing Will Still, they went for the exciting, fresh, up-and-coming approach, Leicester City need to counteract that appointment. Danny Rohl gets the slight edge in that regard.
-
And even though you disagree, it’s exactly why I’ve mentioned Cleverley. “Aligns with the players we have”. He went with a 4-2-3-1 formation at times last season which is perfect for our squad. He played with direct ball carriers which is what we have in Mavididi and Fatawu. Played with a deep-lying playmaker, we have that in Winks and Skipp. While as I’ve said, he prioritised youth which is what we need right now. If the club want to stick with a more possession based style, he’ll give us that too. Rohl would be my number 1 choice because he fits the up-and-coming fresh approach, but let’s be honest, he’d come with a few red flags too. For example Sheffield Wednesday had one of the oldest squads in the Championship, he relied on numerous 30+ year olds, he could do the exact same thing at Leicester, we’d be dipping right into the unknown with him where youth development is concerned. Rosenior has been terrific at Strasbourg with the youngest squad in Ligue 1, his style of play though is far from perfect, some of his stats at Hull were almost identical to Russell Martin’s Southampton team. You say Manning would be a risk, but hasn’t he done a bit more than Danny Rohl? Many EFL pundits saw Watford as relegation candidates last season, Cleverley got them over performing in the first half of the season. Yes they dropped off in the second half of the season, but as I said in my previous post, they needed a striker in January, the ownership didn’t give him one, so he was relying on a 19 year old because their more senior striker in Vakoun Bayo was crap. While one of their most influential players in Kwadwo Baah got injured, and missed pretty much all of the second half of the season. I’d be happy with Rohl, Rosenior, Cleverley or Manning as it would be a statement of intent from the club, that they are looking in the fresh up-and-coming direction. With the squad we have, with the plethora of youngsters coming through, I just feel it ticks the right boxes for Cleverley as he had similar at Watford.
-
But he lacked experience as a first team manager, which is why I said it. There’s been endless clamour for Danny Rohl, yet in terms of a first team manager, he has one more year of experience over Cleverley, while Sheff Wed and Watford were only separated by one point. Plenty of Watford fans will say that Cleverley was harshly sacked, he wasn’t backed in January and one of their key players in Baah got injured. We have a plethora of youngsters coming through at Leicester, Cleverley had plenty of them at his disposal at Watford and got the best out of quite a few of them. Isn’t that partly what we need right now? “We have far too much at stake this season for a gamble of this magnitude”. Talking along them lines, I guess it’s someone like Dyche or Hasenhuttl for you then?
-
Played 4-2-3-1 at times for Watford last season Possession based, with a midfield dictator in Imran Louza pulling the strings, Winks or Skipp can do that job for us Direct ball carriers in Giorgi Chakvetadze and Kwadwo Baah, we have that with Mavididi and Fatawu Gives young players a chance Yes he lacks experience, but so did Maresca. Cleverley was far from perfect last season, but in terms of playing style and developing young players, Cleverley would make a lot of sense.
-
Doubt they’d consider him, but I still wouldn’t mind taking a gamble on Cleverley. Mixes possession based football with direct attacking, Watford ranked in the Championship’s top 10 for fast breaks, direct speed and direct attacks. Also big on youth development, he made some really positive selection calls last season, while leaving more senior players on the bench. For what our squad needs right now, he ticks the boxes.
-
Look at the goals tonight that just prove how important transition and fast breaks are becoming in football nowadays. But Steve Cooper thought it would be a wise move to sign both Jordan Ayew and Bobby De-Cordova Reid.
