  1. Absolutely nothing wrong with signing an experienced keeper, we’ve done it before, and far more established teams across Europe continue to do it too. The real panic sets in when Dyche signs the golden trio, Begovic, Mee and Keane.
  2. Been at the Infirmary throughout the early hours, not a good situation, but won’t go into details. I’ve come to accept anything when it comes to Leicester City, if it is to be Dyche, I wouldn’t be hardly surprised, I’ve been prepared for it since Russell got his marching orders in my display pic
  3. If it’s Dyche. The dream - Mihalio Ivanovic The reality - Oli McBurnie
  4. Had the shittest of nights, anxiety issues through the roof, now I come home to this potential news If appointed, who knows what he’ll do with our youth, it’s difficult to say. But from a style of play perspective and the likeliness of numerous experienced signings, Dyche would be depressing. Maybe my display pic choice is a jinx after all
  5. Gerrimin
  6. Read an article on Dyche’s time at Everton citing the lack of pace in the team, while as we know throughout his Burnley career, he usually likes a certain type of winger. Would be a massive question mark if he were appointed. From a pure style perspective, it’s why I’d give the edge to Rohl, he’s had players like Gassama and Musaba at Sheff Wed who can produce 1 vs 1 ability.
  7. Yep I saw his article yesterday mate. His comment made me instantly think Carrick 🙁 Just Dyche’s history with wingers would give me a seed of doubt, that’s all. He usually likes Michael Kightly, Robbie Brady types, rather than Mavididi and Fatawu types. Cornet is about the only winger he’s had with a bit of flair.
  8. If the club want Winks back into the fold, then we might as well go for another possession based manager like Carrick, not sure he has the legs anymore for a Dyche or Rohl style, unless you get an energetic DM to compliment him. If Soumare and Faes are still with us next season, then we’re well and truly fvcked. Changes in certain areas will be inevitable, and I’ll include our midfield into that. As I said above, Winks staying will depend on who our manager is. Ndidi sticking around is very much up in the air, Soumare will surely leave, even if it’s only on loan. Who knows what our budget will be like, you had a bunch of Championship clubs spend between £20-30 million last season, I expect us to be in that range unless we do get hit with an embargo, or we’re more fvcked than we think. If it ends up being Dyche, then his history suggests that he likes defenders who are capable in the air. I think Souttar and Nelson would be a perfect pair for a Dyche style. Okoli albeit had an average aerial success rate last season, he did rank highly in terms of aerial duels last season. Think I expect some defenders to move on, maybe Coady, hopefully Faes and maybe one of Okoli or Vestergaard. If Dyche was appointed and we go into next season with Souttar, Nelson, Okoli/Vestergaard and maybe one new CB as our options, I’d be pretty happy with that. As I said also, the wing situation would also be the main concern for me. That’s where some of our strongest assets are, would he utilise our pace would be the biggest question mark imo. As for youth, it’s a debate that’s given me a headache I just think it’s a very difficult topic to judge Dyche on.
  9. With the squad changes we expect over the summer, isn’t this a good time to change course/style? People bang on about continuity and it’s a fair point, but I don’t really see anyone calling for another possession dominant style of manager. If we want continuity, I thoroughly expect to see someone like Carrick walking through the door. Whatever manager comes in, whether it’s Dyche, Rohl or someone else, I think we as fans thoroughly expect to see a revamp in the midfield and striker areas. If it is to be Dyche, I think he has a set of defenders that are well accustomed to his style, with the hope we move a couple on too. The only area of concern if Dyche came in, is how he’d view our wingers.
  10. Few comments on the Preston forum about him… Have a feeling he's a spoilt little b*****d, did same at Boro didn't he? Started great and fizzled out. Thought it was just because he wasn't consistent but maybe he's a sulky shit. If he had a brain he’d be lethal
  11. Carrick 🔮
  12. Of course depends who our manager is and what he expects from a striker, but Hogh is definitely someone I’m keeping tabs on, his goalscoring data at the start of this season and last season have been quality. Aune Heggebo is another one that is intriguing me from the Eliteserien.
  13. Yep, and look at the profit the likes of Gyokeres and Latte Lath went for. I look at Millwall last season signing Mihalio Ivanovic for under £3 million, double figures in goals, and if he continues to develop, will probably go for triple or quadruple of what they paid for him. We just have to find the striker equivalent of Hermansen.
  14. A potential promotion rival taking a chance on Selles
  15. A could be better, could be worse type of appointment.
  16. Mate, we’re in the Championship, it’s just about being smart. Only two Championship clubs signed strikers for £10+ million last season, Cannon from us to Sheff Utd and Crnac to Norwich. I’d be looking in the same price bracket that Middlesbrough paid for Latte Lath and Conway, and Sunderland paid for Isidor. Of course there’s always the possibility of signing another Tom Cannon, but finding a starting Championship calibre striker is doable in the £5 million bracket.
  17. Behind the door on July, 1st…
  18. Beautiful isn’t it
  19. Those shirts summed up that era tbf, shite!
  20. Tell me about it, I had DJ Campbell put on the back of mine to make it even shitter.
  21. Wow, clinching his first major in style, gutted for Bob, but fair play JJ Spaun.
  22. But if we had appointed Martin or appoint Dyche, whether we like it or not, you have two managers who have achieved promotion and have far more concrete pedigree than Wellens, Cleverley etc… Even if we as fans don’t want them, you have to admit, they have more pedigree and on paper, have a better chance of getting us promoted. We have to fish in the right pond, and at this moment in time, the likes of Wellens and Selles haven’t quite done enough to join that pond. Wellens himself pretty much said he might have to take another stepping stone, before being considered for a job like Leicester City.
  23. Run it back
  24. But despite getting relegated, he also showed good signs at Ligue 1 level. While as I’ve said before regarding Le Bris, with the way Sunderland operate, you can see why he was a viable candidate. With ourselves, we have to put ourselves in the same bracket as Southampton and Ipswich. As Lambert said to me a few weeks back, put yourself in Southampton’s shoes, would you opt for Will Still or would you opt for Wellens, Cleverley, Muslic? For a club of our size at Championship level, with aspirations of promotion, you have to fish in the same pond as Southampton did with Will Still. Some of the uninspiring names just make themselves more viable candidates, because they simply come with better pedigree.
  25. You just have to look at teams that will no doubt have play-off aspirations themselves. Look at Norwich for example, why didn’t they go for someone like Wellens, Cleverley, Muslic, Selles? Instead they went for Liam Manning who has proven himself at Championship level by getting Bristol City into the play-offs. Rob Edwards is the current favourite for the Middlesbrough job, even though things went sour at Luton, he did get them promoted which puts him in a higher category than the four I mentioned above. For a club like ourselves, we have to work in the same bracket as Southampton did with appointing Will Still. You either have to find someone who’s earned his stripes at Championship level, or you look abroad for a manager who has history of winning leagues, or who has earned their stripes in France, Germany, Italy, Spain.
