  1. FFS Where’s Danny Ward when you need him
  2. Goallll, can’t see who scored, I’ll go with Graham Fenton.
  3. Trying to watch this game
  4. In this weather, you just know someone is fvcking up their hamstring today.
  5. This is the perfect game to start both Ayew and Reid and he’s bottled it
  6. Imagine that with Danny Ward in goal.
  7. Our new RB/LB ladies and gentlemen
  8. Boom, boom, boom, now let me hear you say Woyo.
  9. Romano said Fiorentina were in talks with him the other week. I can see why we’d go for him regarding certain data, plus he fits the bill for a cheap right-back because as @fleshdaddy said, he is out of contract in the summer.
  10. Please delete as my original post is now pointless 👍🏻
  11. Becoming a regular theme nowadays on British soil. He either damaged his cue yesterday or the way he performed pissed him off so much, he has hit another spell where he can’t be arsed with the game.
  12. Looking back over our situation, maybe our wage structure was actually the starting point of this mess. Something must’ve obviously changed in between or on the back of those two fifth placed finishes. That’s when we seemingly started to dish out these ridiculous and undeserved contracts. Was their clauses in players contracts for rises due to where we finished in the Premier League, or did the likes of Top, Rudkin and co do it out of goodwill for what the players achieved in the league. There was clearly a turning point somewhere, dishing out wages as if we were on the brink of being a top six club was a ridiculous move, having the 7th highest wage bill in the Premier League when relegated has harmed us massively.
  13. If we’re looking for value/a bargain, then I expect we’re looking at full-backs who’d cost in the £5-10 million bracket. That’s why I said cheap, because in football terms nowadays, that is cheap considering what Premier League clubs spend nowadays.
  14. Percy said we’re after cheap full-backs, Sekine more than likely fits that bill.
  15. This all stems back from those back-to-back 5th placed finishes that we had in the Premier League. We did get over ambitious, we did get “too big for our boots” as the saying goes. It’s like we looked at the situation back then, decided to start operating like a “top six” club thinking we’ve cracked the top six, but once you start doing that, you simply have to remain consistent in terms of league position, recruitment etc… but we of course didn’t do that. We finished 8th on the back of that, a great finish on paper, but it didn’t get us into Europe. Then you back that up with a disastrous relegation season, where we’re relegated with the 7th highest wage bill in the Premier League, then you’re bound to be left in the shit, now we’re seeing the effects of it, and those effects will probably continue for years to come. All of that plus the fact we held onto Rodgers too long, along with a number of poor transfer windows, along with our ridiculous wage structure as I mentioned above, then fast forward to this season with the wrong managerial appointment along with another poor transfer window… It is no surprise we find ourselves where we are. We simply got too cocky on the back of two 5th placed finishes, then the board and recruitment started to dish out incompetent error after incompetent error.
  16. Two. Probably a pair of unwanted cast-offs from Ligue 1 and Serie A.
  17. Those three clubs were severely mismanaged though which contributed to their downfall. Luckily we haven’t hit that stage yet, despite the ability to list numerous incompetent errors that this board has made since 21/22. Are we in the early stages of a decline though? Possible but of course time will tell. Regarding @nnfox post, the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Forest may hit a brick wall at some point, but take Brighton’s model for example, it’s been so consistent since they got promoted, even if they produce some mid table finishes, a complete collapse seems highly unlikely as of now. I’ve been envious of how Bournemouth have operated recently, the appointment of Iraola was a surprising but intriguing gamble, but so far it’s working, while their recruitment recently has been absolutely spot on, reminiscent of how we used to be. Once Iraola and their best players get picked off though, it would be of no surprise if they end up like us right now.
  18. Painful watching the likes of Murillo and Milenkovic beast it up, while we have to put up with our defence.
  19. No problem mate. He first came to my attention when he was at AGF, but at that time I was mainly focusing on Nagalo and Bisseck who were arguably the two standout defensive talents in Denmark at the time. I believe he’s mainly played in a back three, both at AGF and Udinese, think he’s operated on both the right and left sides of defence, but probably best to look on Sofascore for his heat map. As for pace, not sure mate, you’ll have to go digging for some Udinese highlights 😕
  20. Feels like clubs see Rudkin as a soft touch. Levy did a number on him regarding Skipp. Now Parish and co have done a number on him over Edouard. As I’ve said before regarding Rudkin, there’s a reason he doesn’t get linked with more higher profile director of football roles, because he’s shite.
  21. This is from his time at AGF in Denmark where he produced quite a highly rated defensive duo with Yann Aurel Bisseck(Now at Inter Milan). The two of them ended up being AGF’s highest record departures in the clubs history…
  22. He can play in a two mate, he did so throughout last season for Brest 👍🏻
  23. Was looking at Coventry fans views on Van Ewijk last week. Plenty of them saying the same thing, that he’s been nowhere near as good as last season, and ideally they want a new RB to provide competition for him should he stay. He does have the tools that we ideally need from a RB, but I’d rather we looked elsewhere personally.
  24. Posted him in the right-back the other week, will mention him again in here… Wesley Franca(RB) - Flamengo Arguably the best RB in Brazil Serie A, some of his Wyscout stats… 3.00 - Successful Attacking Actions per90(One of the best RB’s in the division for this statistic) 10.58 - Successful Defensive Actions per90(One of the best RB’s in the division for this statistic) 69.88% - Defensive Duels won Fbref stats… A good chunk of our budget must go on a RB, just get it done!
  25. Judge him after January. Today was yet another game lost by an individual error by a player who is past his sell by date. The quality and depth of this squad right now just reeks of Championship.
