I think it can only really be manifesting and just hoping things turn. The one thing I will say is we seem to be selling a bit better this time. I've made peace with there being next to nothing I can enjoy in the next year at least though. Maybe if a couple of the young players really break out but on a game by game basis it'll be really bleak. Feels like everything to lose and nothing to gain.

The numbers were at their best against Arsenal. Nothing happening for a year after that was a big ****up.

I completely accept there is a chance that we win the league at a canter, that McCarron has managed to have us working on more than one thing at once, that Martin is actually not a complete disaster. But there is no way I would confidently lean into that. The transfer business doesn't encourage me - for example Ings, I expect the club to drastically overestimate how well he'll impact us and it will in turn leave us short.

I think pretty much exactly this. I think whoever wins tomorrow will go home happy with their tournament regardless of what happens Sunday, which is similar to how I felt about Norway at the weekend and why I didn't think they'd beat England.

We underperform virtually every single year under this regime for a multitude of reasons. I'm amazed anybody would wait a year for an 11/4 payout that isn't watertight. If there are any markets for things like missing out on the top two, missing out on the top six, count me in. Relegation is 50/1 for a reason, and I don't believe it will happen, but this regime have produced extraordinary underperformance on numerous occasions now.

Argentina's luck is beyond belief

Tonight reminded me a bit of a Euro 2024 game. We were pretty bad by most measures but we still won it against a pretty good side. We are clearly of a pretty good level now. I do think we'd have to up it a notch against Argentina though.

I tell you what, I don't think we'll quite go all the way, but we are there or thereabouts pretty much every tournament nowadays. One of them's going to click for England. Maybe it is this one.
