Tentative enquiries that have no foundation and never progress will be common place and journalists occasionally get a nod and a wink. Filing this one in the silly season bin.

If there's any truth in this then it would mean Brighton's transfer policy has changed on this deal. Buy for £30m (and likely sell-on clause) won't return much of a profit. I think it's all bollox.

I agree that it must be having an effect on the players. Those of us lucky enough to have been in attendance during the Premier League winning season will remember all those 1 nils as the season wore on and how our crowd pushed the team over the line in the final minutes. We celebrated throw-in's, goalkicks, Shlupp keeping the ball in the corner, Kasper catching a cross like we'd scored. Contrast with Monday, winning 1 nil going into the final minutes and not only is the remaining crowd sitting in silence but actually hordes quietly slipping away just at the most important stage when the team needed the backing the most. It must be demoralising for the players to see their supporters walking out when they've given everything, are dead on their feet and hanging on. It's costing us now. It's baffling, weird and I just don't get it.

I'm sure that City could've got an extra £12m for Maddison (and probably Barnes) had they waited until transfer deadline day. Instead they sold early at a knock-down price to ensure compliance with the rules.

I thought the Notts F match last season was probably the most hostile atmosphere ever at this stadium. The abuse dished out during the pre-match line up announcement was something else not seen since the old Filbo days. It was almost a frenzy as we very nearly scored in the first two minutes. Don't expect that much hostility tonight but we need to be on it especially if we go behind.

Sorry if I've missed it but what work is going on down at the stadium? This is a home game for Leicester yet they are playing it 40 miles away from their usual base. The Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion, is tonight's venue as work is being carried out on the King Power Stadium, where Leicester's home matches are usually played.

Very average at Reading, very average for us. We gave him a chance and supported him but it didn't really work out. 5/10. Wish him well.
