Because that's what we're discussing? That's what this whole debate is about. I hope the policewoman is okay and there's no way she deserves any injury from any individual. No one working in that environment should be injured in such a way. The guy who did it clearly has little to no respect for the Police. I'm not sure what you're insinuating or what you're angling at or want me to say on this point.
-
I'm angry with him. Angry with his actions that an emergency worker has been injured. No place for that at all. But do his actions warrant the policeman to act in such a manner? Are we going to then see all out violence whenever a policeman or woman is attacked? That's not the right way to go about things? I think my answer has more reasoning when taking into account the threat of the individual.

I don't think anything there was virtuous. It's not even demanding perfection I think. I just don't expect the police officer in question to act overly aggressive in that situation. My main point is that they had done what they needed to - mitigating the risk and reducing the threat. I'm not even sure we need to see the context leading up to it when you think of this bit. If that something triggered him to act in such a way that's what needs examining. And I guess what will be investigated.

What the guy did to the police officer does not absolve the kicking police officer of his actions. And vice versa. I'm protective over my friends but I've not had to end up kicking AND stamping on someone's head. A man punching a policewoman in the face is wrong. I don't think you'll find anyone defending him. In fact in all of the debate I don't see anyone anywhere defending him. What you seem to have done though is defend police brutality and unnecessary and excessive force against someone that was already restrained. If the police officer cannot control his emotions amongst colleagues (friends or not), then perhaps he needs to reevaluate his behaviour. His protection for his colleagues would have weight if the guy on the floor was lunging towards the officers or actually seemed threatening in that moment in time. I don't even know why gender comes into it. It should have no relevance. I've put myself in his shoes, like you asked, and I still don't picture myself stamping on someone's head or volleying them in the face.

FBS are not our sponsors any more so had to be removed from the older version. It did not need to cost £25, though.

What's the context here for pepper spraying him? Was he causing a nuisance or being threatening? Was it 'deserved', so to speak?

What's everyone's record for the jigsaw? Mines 0.74 secs

I 100% agree. I'm not trying to diminish or negate what the fans have done. Just that I think the club have such a hard on for going mobile that whatever happens/happened this season, they'll still push ahead with mobile ticketing.
-
Lewis Miley and Joe White are recent examples for last season.
-
Club are intent on going digital. This won't make a jot of difference for future seasons, sadly. Not to say that the fan groups haven't done well, but club are so driven to go digital that next season they'll just force it, and not even have physical card as an option. They'll just use the excuse that enough fans by their standards are opting for mobile and we're 'moving in that direction'.

Thought he would come good with us but another one that just hasn't worked out. Can see him being exactly the type of player that fits the Sheff Utd mould.

Spain have dominated Japan. Good value for the win if they hold on.
-
Didn't even know they had colours.
-
Who is 'they'? What are the 'FA colours'? There's been red on recent kits.
-
I think what works against the officer in question (apart from being overly aggressive in the first place) is the fact he's done two things. Either the kick or the stamp is bad enough, but to do both is just totally unnecessary.
-
It really isn't.

Not sure if it was this thread or not, but there were calls for us to look into Smith-Rowe. He's going to Fulham in a potential £35m deal, no wonder we're not even considering it

Yep apologies, read it too quickly!

This is worrying that you see it as 'exemplary behaviour'.

It's quite clear that whatever happened prior was quite serious. But what I then don't get is that the police have got their man. All that appeared needed was them to make the arrest, no? He was down on the floor. They did what they needed to do which was to reduce the risk to themselves and the public. What use was there in kicking him and stamping him on the head? They have clearly let their anger get the better of them, and therefore unable to control it in this kind of situation. No one is leaping to judge. Everyone in here has acknowledged that they're probably nasty individuals and deserved to be caught based on what GMP have stated. Got nothing to do with the dislike of social media. Or nothing to provoke. It's fair game for the police involved to be criticised with their OTT reaction considering they seemingly had the individuals under their control.

Pfft. Drama queen
-
Also, just to add, I don't condone any violence towards police, armed or not. But I do believe in using force only when necessary.
-
But he was on the floor, restrained, and already under enough pressure to not do anything. What need was there to kick him in the head (!) AND then stamp on his head on the floor? It's unreasonable force. There's also plenty of backup for the police if he was to get up and start, not to mention the police are already armed, and with tasers. I don't see where the risk is, in this clip, that he was about to steal their guns.
