  1. It’s like this old joke… An old man is sitting at the local pub, staring into his drink with a heavy sigh. He turns to the person next to him and points out the window… "You see that great stone pier out on the lake? I built that pier with my own two hands, driving the pilings deep into the bed through freezing water and storms. But do they call me Seamus the Pier Builder? No." He gestures to the polished wooden bar: "I hand-planed this very bar from the finest oak and fitted it together myself over three weeks. But do they call me Seamus the Master Carpenter? No." He sighs again and shakes his head: "I laid the stone for half the walls in this village." He leans in close, lowers his voice, and looks around to make sure nobody is listening… "But you shag one sheep..."
  2. Harry Kane, rumoured to be an option for a permanent signing following his loan. Would have just taken Vardy's place and never passed to him!
  3. The loan is the cake, the new deal is the icing!
  4. The signing we've all been refreshing our browsers all morning to see announced
  5. Was hoping he’d be one in and around the first team but he’s better off having a full season playing than a few sub appearances here. Hopefully with Otchere also leaving it points to a couple of strikers incoming.
  6. With any player leaving it’s all about the fee and how well you replace them. If it’s £5m we’re all livid, £20m and looks like good business. Obvs it’ll be somewhere in the middle. If he leaves for a decent fee with a sell on, we avoid admin and bring in 2 CBs and 2 STs who can be coached and go up in value it’ll be a good deal for us given where we are. That’s the sad reality of the mess these clowns have got us into.
  7. Definitely a 10 who can do a shift as a 9 rather than vice versa. Think he’ll look a lot better with someone in front of him who can move, occupy the CBs and hold it up. Decent enough debut and looks like an 8-12 goal a season option.
  8. Look, I don’t think there’s a single one of us convinced by him and he definitely has limitations to his game. And yes, I’m sure someone can “scout” a £250k replacement who can do what Skipp does 10x better on all stats. But based on what I see him do on the pitch, how he appears to handle himself off it and the challenge we face getting the club back up, if we can afford to keep him I would.
  9. Whatever we think about his fee and skill set, I honestly believe we have a better chance of promotion with him in the squad, and yesterday highlighted it. Yes it’s boring, but he gets about the pitch well and recycles the ball. If a decent offer comes in we should take it but I wouldn’t get rid on the cheap if we don’t need to financially.
  10. The CB pairing equivalent of the house built by the fourth little pig who used wet kitchen towel.
  11. Honestly don’t hate it all things considered. Fairly clear we need a striker to Bobby is a stop gap.
  12. He could’ve started in The Terminal 2 given the amount of time he’s spent at the airport this week.
  13. Not sure if it’s the weather, the new season or knowing that Ayew won’t be playing but can’t wait to get down there!
  14. Goodbye sweet… errr… whatshisname… Spanish bloke I think… damn what was it… thingymebob… Frank?!
  15. The 7 subs in the league is really going to hurt the squad. Time to go in the window but we still have a relatively big squad so can see some missing out each week and little room for academy players.
  16. I’d be staggered if he didn’t start close to his starting 11. He’ll be desperate for a positive start and to get the confidence up in the squad following last season.
  17. Clever guy. Remembered to add a "don't use the em dash" in his prompt.
  18. The news we all knew was coming unfortunately 😢
  19. OK THANKS. Technically what was said was a contradiction hence the question.
  20. Maybe I'm not as smart as AI, but does this not just mean that we could sell him at a loss this year, but if (if!!) we go up it'd hit our books as a PSR loss next year?
  21. Agreed. Although most summers it feels like it ends with a headline of "Leicester pull out of xxx signing after deal gets too complicated to finish before the transfer window shuts".
  22. Devastating news about the comedy festival. Really hope it gets taken on, must create work in the city and give people something to go to.
  23. If it’s 3yr on his reported £20k pw it’s a car crash no matter how good he is. If it’s say £10k a week with a healthier signing on fee or weighted to performances it’s all good. Reckon he’ll be very good for us both on and off the pitch.
