Really does make a difference having a CB who is left footed. With both Thomas and Page in that whole side of the pitch just seemed to open up more for us. And he defended well bar a couple of times he got turned, but fair enough on that.

Feels really special seeing him and Alves combine in a blue shirt. I think most fans have been aware of them both for 4-5yrs but injuries, loans (some good, some bad) and maybe some managerial decisions have robbed us of the chance. Couple of misweighted passes from Braybrooke aside they looked to have a good understanding.

Not even close for me. They’ve put the club on the brink of administration and football obscurity through years of incompetence. One decent appointment doesn’t paper of the cracks of the damage they’ve done to the club. It’d be like a serial killer telling the police where he hid one of the bodies and expecting a pardon for his crimes.

Think the main thing is most of the senior players we seem to have bought in come with reputations for leadership and setting high standards; Lundstram, O’Hora, Cullen, Burns, Chaplin. Compare this to the likes of Ayew, Winks, Vesty, Mavididi, Choudruy. None of us will really know the impact they had on the squad but from the outside it never looked positive. Then throw in proper senior squad status for some of our own youngsters and some good Prem loans and on paper we might just have pulled it off! All while cutting the wage bill and bringing in some decent fees. It just can’t be a coincidence that it’s happened in the same window that McCarron joined.

Really feels like, even with the 3 in today, we’re getting back to signing good characters. Everything about this signing makes sense. So much so it doesn’t make sense for us!

Played really well tonight but will watch his game back and see things he can improve; when to clear his lines, some misplaced passes, got caught in possession a few times. Every 90min will be massive for his conditioning as well. All part of his development but looks a real player already.

Hands of a boxer, feet of a hobbit. Can’t have been easy coming on like that and wasn’t helped by his team at times, but blimey he made that look tough in the first half!

Bit of a mixed bag really, couple of good bits of link up and hold up play, couple of times he showed a poor technique and wasn’t strong enough. Fair play though he kept going and makes some really good runs I thought we should’ve picked out. Probably our second choice striker now which may/may not benefit him.

West Ham just called offering me route out of retirement 20yrs after I stopped playing Sunday league. Turned it down. They said 10 more to call then were going back in for Wout.

Given Martin probably has the most set way of playing in world football, I think it's unlikely he suddenly changes formation.

Assuming the contract is short (I’ve given up hoping the wages are sensible!), I think he’s a great signing. Big, aggressive, good character, will do the CDM dirty work when we need it. Honestly really pleased… contract length dependent.

Ideal scenario: Rudkin on loan to Forest with an obligation to move at the end of the season. A striker with a fancy foreign name. A CB who likes defending. A nasty CDM. Tops contract terminated by mutual consent.

I have a tiny bit of sympathy for him in that he still has an unsettled squad due to our inability to finalise deals. Some clear gaps in the squad and too many who shouldn’t be here. Get the window closed and see how he gets on with a settled squad.

Possibly the biggest disappointment of the season player wise. Looked as solid as a rock in the WC and a marshmallow at best for us.
