Come on Boro...
-
I struggle to see how this is anything but a slide to relegation now. Not being able to fight for a result today speaks volumes. No idea how Rowett gets a consistent tune out of this lot, while Oxford are flying and West Brom got some fight back today. I can see us stumbling on, being still within touching distance of safety through sheer luck, and then losing to Blackburn on the final day to get relegated. Highly on brand for us right now.

And just like that, our win against Bristol means nothing. Second bottom, two points off safety, with all those we'd reeled in winning. It's between us, West Bromwich and Oxford for two spots. Disgraceful.

Don't change a winning team and all that I suppose (except Reid). Glad to see Mukasa back in. Don't like Ayew starting...but let's see how we go 🤞🏻

He's a CB, right? -
Always did like Southampton.
-
Yup. That gap between Portsmouth and Charlton doesn't seem quite so big now. Crazy what a difference one game week makes.

Oxford dragging Blackburn kicking and screaming into the relegation battle.

IF (a big if) we stay up under Rowett, do we keep him on?

I'm happy he's here for 6 months and can see him doing a good job already. However, I think we need to reassess in the summer. We will be in a different place, squad-wise, and will have a lot of positions/roles to fill. We need the manager from this summer onwards who can build us back up into a proper team and squad again. I'm not sure Rowett has the record for that. He's an excellent fire fighter and will set great foundations I hope, but not sure he's a manager who builds teams for longer term success. Happy to be proven wrong. -
Much, much better. Aggressive in the right way tonight, and cut out a lot. More of that please!

LCFC 2-0 Bristol City, post-match thread
CloudFox replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Dammit, broke our 30-game run...👀 I'll eat humble pie, I was so disappointed in that lineup. In Rowett we trust eh. First 90 performance all season, it feels like. Agree with others on the save, Jakub saving that penalty is such a massive, massive moment. Players looked more and more confident as time went on with that clean sheet, and fought for everything. Some actual pressing to boot! Not holding my breath as Bristol were poor, but some really good performances out there. Fatawu back on it, Mavididi put a shift in and linked well with Fatawu, Thomas had a good game, Nelson excellent (love it when he strides forward into midfield with a burst of pace and the opposition have no idea what to do), and Skipp...Olly Skipp, that match was yours. Phew. On to the next one then! -
This is a very good point. I get that he played on Saturday...but come on, this is a great chance to play him into some semblance of form.
-
Mukasa benched again. He has been our best player of late. Horrible mismanagement. Less said about Ayew up front the better. I'm so disappointed in Rowett. Who knows though, maybe something good will happen and I'll happily eat humble pie.
-
Where on earth have you got that from? He's not even injured at the moment, and we know how much he hated not playing while he was out injured long term. Give your head a wobble. Also, apparently it's his birthday today. Happy birthday to the lad.
-
He's not a miracle worker, so don't think we could have expected to suddenly get clean sheets, a good work ethic and a few wins already...as much as I'm disappointed we haven't picked them up lately. Clean sheet still looks a distant possibility at this moment in time, but we do look more resilient than before. And we've only lost 1 of 4 matches, that match being the in-form team in the league...I'm slightly clutching at straws, but if not for the poor work ethic against Norwich, I'd say we can see some progress. The problem is that we need to see rapid impact—a new manager bounce, if you will. I'm worried about it being too little, too late. And those home games do not fill me with confidence. We seem better away.

Blackburn equalise in the 93rd minute. Keeps Portsmouth in the mix.
-
Does he need to say it?
-
Portsmouth 1-0 up. I think I'd prefer a draw to keep them in the mix, but at least this means Blackburn don't get even further ahead of us for now.
-
That's fair. I guess there's an assumption that JJ would be ready again, but perhaps that's premature, especially given we'll need him for the other games this week. We don't even know how he'll be asked to play in a Rowett team either, to be fair. Mukasa is the baffling one to me. Although nobody was good last week, Mukasa has been a key source of creativity since he joined us.
-
Vietes really not rated then. Good for French I guess. No Mukasa and JJ in the starting 11 is...oh I can't even be bothered to finish that thought. C'mon lads. Please get us a positive result. We're in dire need.
-
No win in 10 games. 7 losses over that same period. The hope for the last two games has been snuffed out after that performance. I trust Rowett to try anything he can to save us. I don't trust this "squad". **** me this is depressing.
-
Yeah I reckon if anything happens it will be a 20-40 point deduction, putting Man City just outside the relegation zone, but still too far ahead of those actually in it. They'll then use that to galvanize themselves and win the Champions League or something, meaning all they lose out on is cash from PL finishing position. They're too much of a commercial draw for the league for the PL to relegate them. And that would be unprecedented anyway. No way would they get it to stick on appeal.

Always good to have a manager who knows how to take out the trash.

This ad popped up on Instagram. Just a tad silly and made me laugh. Considering he's now been sold and then loaned out by said buying club to another club, I think the social/paid media team should remove this from the ad carousel now, surely 😅.

Just watched the goal back, and I think he's at fault twice in the build up to the goal. Strange pass to try and play (it wasn't on), and then sort of gets frozen in place as he realises his mistakes, making it easy to play around him. If he'd dropped back on making the mistake he probably could have cut off the supply or made an interception... disappointing. I'm really not sure what to make of him. Would love him to succeed (and great he got a goal), but you can't make mistakes like that every week.
