You need players to cover injuries, just like we needed Wood at the end of the season for the bench. It's not like the championship where you can loan people in for 3/4 of the season virtually. We need them all on board from the off. Nugent would now probably fill the Wood role of fringe player, there if we need him.
Number 6 Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 Think there are other areas for which it is a higher priority to strengthen, but don't think it would hurt. Not convinced by Kram yet and Vardy and Nuge were thin on the ground for goals last season. Hasn't Nige said you can never have too many strikers too?

LAprice_ Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 It's also easy to forget that before picking up an injury, Nugent finished the season in pretty good form. If we get Okazaki, we will have 5 very good, very different options up front. There's also a chance that we may start matches with 3 strikers up front (like Man U at home last season), in which case, having at least 5 strikers is a must.
LCCFox96 Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 If Chris Wood goes we have 4 strikers in the squad. The odd injury or suspension coinciding with each other could leave us thin on the ground. A 5th striker would be a good. Option to give us the strength in depth we need to compete across the PL and all the cups and cover any injuries to the squad.

ScouseFox Posted 25 June 2015 Posted 25 June 2015 we'll struggle to keep them all happy seen as there's not really one or any who are a lot better/worse than the rest. if we sign okazaki then 3 of them will be our 3 most expensive signings, they are all going to want to play. another is an england international who is integral to our system. "rotation" and "having a squad" are great but so is a settled system and a settled xi. if we find a decent, hopefully winning formula like we did towards the back end of this season, at least 3 of kram, ulloa, vardy, okazaki & nugent aren't going to feature much, and you'd assume at least one would rarely even make the bench.

Look at some players at successful clubs that don't make the X1 often or even the bench. You can't risk putting all your eggs into 11 baskets
