To be honest whenever I see a new thread created by lush, I simply ignore it. I haven't bothered to read 95% of his posts because they are always about politics, religion, or something else that I don't want to read about!

I acknowledge the fact that banning would be an act a bit too harsh, at least limit Lush's access, so that he no longer posts rubbish in the "General Chat" and "General Football Info" sections. That's my proposal.

I find lush to be somewhat less than coherent. Nor do I share his viewpoints in Life. However I cannot think of one society in the World that is better off for suppression and as such I think he should be allowed to continue his own "unique :rolleyes: " style of posting.

The reality in life is that in order to render someone less effective, you need to be close to them in order to do that. What are the sayings "keep your friends close and your enemies even closer" or "I would rather he was in the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in".

If you truly believe that lush is a problem then you must see what he is saying and where and challenge it every turn. Suppression is never the answer, but I would say to lush neither is irresponsibility. <_<

I agree with you Steven, except where somebody uses their free speech to spread false information and/or posts writings that can incite hatred and violence. These go beyond the bounds of responsibility. Anybody crossing these is in my opinion entitled to be censored. If not, this forum becomes a platform for the voicing of lies, and incitement of violence (whilst making it extremely difficult for moderators to determine who is committing libel and who is not).

As Swissfox has demonstrated, this spreading of mis-information and incitement to hatred and violence has occurred on this forum. That's a shame because this forum is superb!!!

To be honest I dont have a problem with Lush when it comes to Lcfc talk as he is a good poster. I do have a problem with the consistent amount of muslim orientated drivel he posts, ok fair enough general chat is "general" but to talk about muslims consitently makes me think he has some seriously racist views.

I agree that the extremists are complete cnuts and deserve all the shit they get but to label all muslims with the same brush is very unfair.

Also the blind hatred for Blair and Bush is fair enough if its his opinion but it shouldnt be posted ALL over a football forum!

I have nothing against Thracian, I only found his last comment too general and a bit out of order. I had a lots of reasons to address the forum public concerning Lush's comments. Actually, more than 50 percent still share my opinion. In a democracy, that'd be called majority.

Well its done now. I've tried to help Lush by adding a couple of News Forum Links in another thread. Maybe he'll find others more akin to his way of thinking elsewhere. It could also be a wake up call for him as to what is and what is not regarded as incitement.

Lush IS banned for a fortnight. Banned therefore from airing his undeniably forthright (and often uncomfortable) views on the General Thread. The idea of free speech has therefore been thrown in the bucket.

Part of the reason for that ban is you being a verbal bully. Mr C has been intimidated.

The fact that you have now accused me of showing symptoms of imagining things "like Lush" only further stresses the fact that whenever someone doesn't see things your way you start your verbal bullying, your wilfull discrediting of what they say.
